DarkMatters: New Sacred RSS Export for our Site

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

As you probably read from our Welcome Back thread, we now have RSS Export Capability. We have elected to create a channel running from our now busiest section, Sacred. What this means is that you can browser the titles of all the newest Sacred Topic Titles with an easy drop down menu from your browser or Home page.

How do you do this?

I'll do this guide from a Firefox point of view, as that's what most of our members here are using and hope that perhaps someone who is using RSS inputs from their Explorer or Homepage can perhaps help us by adding to this reference thread.

The easiest way I've found so far to take advantage of DarkMatters' Sacred export, while using a Firefox browser to browse instantly from, is to first find our RSS link which you can find on the first page of our forum at the bottom just ot the left of the skin selector:

Once you've found it just left click on that orange button and you will see a small drop down which will have the words DarkMatters (Sacred).

Click on it again and Firefox will ask you whether to add it to your LIve Bookmarks. Accept. Now, it has been added to your browser tool bar. You should see a small purple icon with white emanating waves upon it. Click on it and you should see a drop down list of all the top 25 latest Sacred topic titles. You can scroll down that list and by clicking on any of the topic titles it will instantly take you to where that topic in on our site.

What if you don't know if you have RSS reading capability on your Firefox browser or not?

Easy enough.

Simply go to, on your browser, Tools, Options, then Feeds (which will have a list of options along the top).

Click on feeds and you will see a number of different feeds, one of which you will have to now choose and "subscribe" to, to get your RSS reader to work.

Click on Live BookMarks...and there you go.

You now have an RSS empowered FireFox browser.

Find our orange RSS Export stream bottom left of our index page and you're ready to go.

Have fun

p.s. We are currently working on adding DA's and the Sacred International Forum's Export streams to site here as well, and when that's up we'll post new about the new Incoming Feed Section. If you are currently running your own Sacred Fansite and wish to add it to our feed please add your feed to this thread here with a post.

Cheers!

8) A live bookmark should now be added.
