  1. Role playing is all about character customization; creating a character who looks exactly (or as close as possible) the way you want to look in the virtual world. In my opinion, it's one of the most important things - besides smooth, bug-free gameplay, naturally. And a good plot is a plus too, no question about it. I remember spending literally hours tweaking the looks of my character in Oblivion. I really enjoyed it. I hope to see a game, where you could pick from different body types too. Tall and lean or short and plump - or just plain fat. Hundreds of different hairstyles to choose from. Oh yes...
  2. Could some of you guys provide a step-by-step guide to how to change the hair colour? Like the thread starter, I wanted to have a hair colour as blonde as possible for my Seraphim, but I wasn't satisfied at all with the blondest one available...
  3. So, if I got it right, the unlocked quests are playable - but those of us playing the non-German version of the game won't see any dialogue, and the questlog remains empty as well. If that's the truth, could you tell the starting locations of all the quests you have unlocked in the recent patch, and update the list when the new version (0080) is ready? I don't want to accidentally click a quest giver, who doesn't have anything to say. I am not playing Sacred 2 just for the items...
  4. Due to various reasons (like having to start the game all over twice), I haven't delved deep into the secrets of Ancaria yet, but after having read all the replies to this thread, it appears that while fixing many issues with the game, the CM patch has also introduced others. So what I am asking here is, when we will have a new version of the patch available for downloading? No hurry, though. Take your time. I am just wondering when/where exactly I will encounter more problems caused by the CM patch? The first one was "Tutorial: Hirelings", and marcuswob mentioned that there are three other quests that might suffer from the same issues...
  5. Okay, first things first: I have to confess that I am a newcomer to Sacred. I stumbled upon Sacred 2 after I got interested of the forthcoming Diablo III. I have played computer games from 1983 or 1984, and Diablo franchise was already somewhat familiar to myself, but I had never played either the original or Diablo II until this year. Not something to brag about, but it's the truth. Anyway, let us just say that I immediately felt in love with Diablo II, and after I had played it through, I just had to find something similar while waiting for Diablo III. I don't remember how I exactly found Sacred 2, but eventually I decided to purchase the Gold version (I had some probems with the activation, like I mentioned in another thread), started playing and... felt in love with the game. I well knew that the game was really buggy and that it's not officially supported anymore, but even though I was prepared - or thought so - for inevitable problems... Well, I wasn't prepared enough... Everything went just fine until I decided to change the game difficulty "on the run". I thought that you can change it without having to start the game from the beginning (like I said, I am a newbie to Sacred). Well, I learned from my mistake, and started the game over with different character class, the High Elf. And then the problems began. The second day, when I started the game, there was this strange "flickering", jagged lines (I can't describe it the other way): It took longer than usual before the game started, but it started eventully. I had encountered the same thing before when I played with my original character, Seraphim, but it lasted only a couple of seconds and the savegame loaded without problems, and I could continue playing from the point where I saved it. But with the High Elf character it got worse. The game either froze up, and I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL to kill the main executable - or crashed to desktop. Actually, "crashed" is a bit of an overstatement; the game just didn't start. No error messages. Back to desktop. I was really frustrated and decided to try a new character. All good, no issues. Everything seemed fine but I still had doubts, so I uninstalled the game and installed it again, tried to start it with the old High Elf character - without the CM patch applied. No good. Same issues; the game either didn't start at all or crashed. I have no idea what caused the problem: CM patch/character class - or was it just a quirk; something that just happened, for reason or another. Anyway, I created another character, a Seraphim again, and thus far there haven't been any problems. But because, as it seems, the issue was with possibly corrupted savegame file, I have started to backup those files, just in case...
  6. You already got the problem solved, so I am just describing my personal activation issues here. I had read this thread a couple of weeks ago, so I already knew that I have to install the official 2.65.2 patch before I even try to launch the game. But I still had some nasty problems with the activation. After I launched the game (the infamous Gold version), the first pop-up window asking for the activation key showed up, like it should. After I had entered the key for the main game, nothing happened. The "boot screen" seemed frozen. I waited and waited - and finally hit the Magic Buttons CTRL, ALT and DEL, and killed the Sacred 2 executable in Task Manager. After that the second pop-up window - the one asking for the activation key for Ice & Blood appeared. I typed in the key and restarted the game, and voila! everything was fine. Sorry for the Engrish. It's hard to describe technical things like these, if you don't speak the Universal Language... EDIT: I have Vista, and had UAC enabled and anti-virus software running on the background, when I installed Sacred 2 and tried to launch it the first time. You can never be too careful - especially if the game requires an open internet connection during the installation. But I unplug my modem and turn off any anti-virus/malware software, when I start playing games...
  7. I experienced the same issue yesterday, and I wondered why those two soldiers didn't follow me outside the cave (like they were supposed to do, I guess). I didn't had the problem with the hireling sticking with my Seraphim, because he happened to... perish in the cave. Ouch. Anyway, you have to remember that I am playing the game the very first time (I actually installed it, the Gold version, just the day before), and I already knew that it is ridden with bugs. This is my first posting, but I have been lurking here for some time. I got interested of Sacred 2 a couple of months ago, but I decided to actually buy it after I had played through Diablo II, my old love, and I just had to play something similar while waiting for Diablo III. The wait will be long indeed, but I think I will enjoy the months in Ancaria... Many thanks for the community patch. Your work is much appreciated.
