  1. @drsleo: Please don't mistake our bugtracker for another bulletin board. The bugtracker (http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt) is for issues to be fixed with our cm-patch. It's not the place to ask for Win7 problems or any other technical problems. You'll find help and assistance here on darkmatters or on the official boards. : One report has to handle only one issue, so there is no "one more question". If you've got another topic to report, please setup a new ticket. : I split your last issue from http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=198 to http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=199, but I deleted the following comment about Win7. : Your last request is now tracked here: http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=200 Not now, sorry. This would mean to reproduce all work on another version, as far as it's possible. We're focused on Sacred2 with addon. If someone takes the task to re-do all the changes to version 2.43.0, we'll assist as far as possible, but we can't handle both versions at the same time. CU Marcus
  2. Okay, that seems to be one of the quests from "playing with bears". http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacre...ying_with_Bears With the cm-patch I reactivated an extension to that quest. If you solve the quest immediately (what most players do), the extension is lost - that's what the red ring shows. If you choose the easter egg, the bear will grow until you leave the orc lands. That's where he'll be completely grown up and he'll leave you. Try it. CU Marcus
  3. Okay, then it's just the reconstruction of the original files. For the german version I've got md5-lists for all files of all different versions, but unfortunately not for any other language versions. So I hope you've still got your backup on the other machine... CU Marcus
  4. http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=199 I don't know which quest you're talkind about. Can you give us a scrrenshot of the questbook? CU Marcus
  5. And you expect anything to work correctly with this? Sacred2 uses a lot of your faulty memory, even the patches do. Random crashes and improper working patches are no surprise, they are predictable. cm-enable tries to undo anything cm-enable has modified. If you mix patched and non-pathedd versions of files neither of them can work correctly. CU Marcus
  6. Uh oh... that will give you a lot more trouble. If the MD5-Check fails there's usually a problem with the RAM (causes the calculation to fail). So please take some time to run an intense memory check on your system. Perhaps, as a different test, run Freecomander. Build a md5 checksum file for your installation and then have the Freecommander check it again. If he runs in any kind of trouble, you should be alarmed. CU Marcus
  7. Sounds to me like an issue with temp-space or virus scanner. Make sure you have enough free space in your %TEMP% directory and exclude the sacred2-directory from virus-checking. Sometimes "patching" is seen as "virus injection" by the scanners. Also make sure that %TEMP% and %TMP% refer to the same directory. CU Marcus
  8. Okay, perhaps forens-consecrated or -sanctified would have been the better translation It's sometimes kinda wierd what these translators give you back ... CU Marcus
  9. http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=191 Well, I've had different behavious. Aurora is following me, but the pirat's captain disappears, so I had to reload the game and - there he was again. I made some minor changes to this quest to get Aurora back to the village and keep the captain "on deck". This will be released with version 0090. CU Marcus
  10. That rings a bell. That was one of the issues we found during the work on the xmas-patch In german the correct translation would be "Ehrlich währt am längsten", but the quest is called "Ehemalige Partner". The first part of this chainquest is available to all characters, but the quest continues only on the shadow path. With the cm-patch we fixed this by reserving the first part also for the shadow side. Nearly the same goes for the god's quest in the human area. Each character can start the forens' quest, but only forens-addicted chars can finish it (only they can find the book in the cave). CU Marcus
  11. This was our first tracked problem in mantis: http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=1 Solved since version 0058 of the cm-patch. Can you give me a more detailed description, screenshot or anything else to find that quest? Light or shadow? CU Marcus
  12. Have a look at http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=193 CU Marcus
  13. This is a DRM & Win7 related problem, correct. The original addon (2.64.0) has to run in compatibility mode under win7, but in this mode the drm was not able to verify the activation code. As a result of a missing activation code the dragonmage remains invisible, because the zip with this particular data is encrypted. But that's not necassary for patched ice & blood versions. So please revoke your game (addon + original game) and do the activation procedure again. Make sure that the game is V2.65.1 or newer and not running in compatibility mode. CU Marcus
  14. You both need exact the same version of the game, so look for the version displayed in the main menu, the used cm-patch and all installed mods. Furthermore you both need multiplayer chars. CU Marcus
  15. I don't know exactly what you mean, but as far as I know "free play" means "free" play, so only your char and the inventory will be saved if you leave the session, but not any of the quests, so you can do them again next time you log into a free game. Only in campaign mode the quests (side- and mainquests) are saved. CU Marcus
  16. Well, yes and no. There is a quick way using an exploit, but I won't sell it to anyone. I even removed this from the game with the cm patch, because it can cause a lot of trouble. The best way should be: Before you start trading, save and quit your game session, reload it and trade on the multiplayer island. Save, quit and reload again before you continue your journey. You don't need to shutdown sacred2, just log off from and on to closednet again to force the gameserver to save. CU Marcus
  17. No. This is not a patch of the program itself, but of scripts, descriptions and other data around it. But you should avoid using the mount inside caves too much. Especially the exits/entrances won't work correctly. By the way: I'm looking for some scifi-related quests in Sacred 2 outside the humans' and high elf area. There should be some kind of hint to any kind of scifi series, films, novels etc. CU Marcus
  18. I need a savegame to find and fix this. The description is nice, but all names are different, so it's difficult for me to find it in the german version. http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt/view.php?id=191 This shold be one of the not-anymore "silent" sidequests. I'm trying to put them all together showing one and the same target (HYPNOTOAD) and hiding this somewhere on the map where nobody looks at... CU Marcus
  19. Do you mean this bear? Nothing happens there... In front of him and behind him is one small crystal storage which you can open, but nothing on the bear directly. CU Marcus
  20. You mean the magic hiding places that only light up once in a while? CU Marcus
  21. Some quick hints: Forget about the elite gfx. These textures cause way to much trouble for little to no benefit. In addition, they are not complete but a subset of all needed textures. I've got two collector's editions on my own and have never seen a markable difference between high and elite textures. In fact, the elite textures are nothing more than the uncompressed version of the high quality textures. You may compare this to listening to some music files in uncompressed wav files (elite), 256kbit mp3 (hq) and 64kbit mp3 (lq). PhysX effects (Nvidia GPU only) on WinXP is quite stable and working, but not on Win7-64. Seems to me like some issue between the x86 PhysX libraries and the x64 graphics driver. So on x64-systems please turn off these effects. In addition, these GPGPU operations are highly dependent on a 100% correctly working graphic card, especially GPU and memory. While so called "soft errors" usually result in one or a few miscolored pixels in one frame they will now have massive influence on the software, even be able to crash the program. So have a very careful look to your graphic card, especially to the temperature, and please avoid overclocking. OC is massively increasing this soft error rate - and you won't see it until it's too late. If you're looking for some more information about this, search for memtestg80 on the net, e.g.: https://simtk.org/home/memtest/ http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadUtils I suggest updating to 2.65.2. We're not testing with 2.65.1 anymore. CU Marcus
  22. Yes, OpenNet is possible. Just tried it. All players must have the same version of sacred2 installed (2.65.1 vs. 2.65.2) and the same version of the cm-patch. The same goes for lan-sessions. That's new to me... CU Marcus
  23. To make things clear: Every cm-patch consists of two files, cm-enable.exe and cm-disable.exe. If you have the actual version 0080 installed, you'll have to do the following steps to upgrade to a newer version (if available some day): 1. Run cm-disable.exe from version 0080 (undo all changes done by cm-enable.exe version 0080) 2. Run cm-enable.exe from the new version CU Marcus
