My standard preorder allowed my to get the download done completely in advance, so I didn't have to wait. I didn't have any PS4/5 login issues that were widespread with early access. I'm having a blast and taking my time. Unlike during beta, I'm actually reading and watching cutscenes. @gogoblender FWIW I hear world tier 2 isn't worth it while running the campaign, and the increased rewards aren't commensurate with the higher difficulty. I did learn ingame that after the campaign the first capstone dungeon is available in tier 2. So you'll need to do tier 2 for endgame.

Diablo IV will have integrated voice chat, but it wasn't working for PS4 during beta (there was an in-game notice saying it would be available by release). IMO that's the best bet for any real groups, especially for controller players. You probably also want to keep a keyboard handy for interacting with random passers-by.

Was still on the fence about my 3 choices (Nerco, Sorc, Rogue). Friday I leveled all to about 6, confirmed my prior doubts about Rogue and deleted it. I got Necro to 15 and Sorc to 13. Sorc: Arc Lash, Chain Lightning, Hydra. Necro: Reap, Bone Spear, Corpse Explosion Necro still feels the stronger choice despite the nerfs after the initial beta. That being said, I'm now 60/40 in favor of Sorc at release. I assumed when I got upgraded Necro minions, they'd replace the existing ones (I.e. my 4 Warriors would go away when I got 3 Mages). Turns out they keep adding, so I have 7 minions, and would have 8 when I unlocked Golem. I don't want to be a shepherd simply herding my attack bots thru Sanctuary. I saved the Sorc build you referenced to try at release. Of course, there does seem to be controller targeting issues with Teleport. That might make a difference in my deliberations.

I'm still on the fence, hard-core vs normal. I still do HC for SP games, but the MMO-esque open world of D4 makes me have second thoughts. Rouge can do either. Don't worry gogo, you'll have your ranged god. Melee is just my preference. Just remember that all rogue damage adds your bow and daggers together, so whether you go melee or ranged keep upgrading both. @Rotluchs I know what you're saying. I used to game like a full time job, but that's long gone. There's supposed to be more than quarterly seasons for D4 endgame (e.g. Nightmare Dungeons). I'm holding out hope, since seasons aren't for me. Heck, I'm not sure I can hit max level in 3 months.

@gogoblender maxroll puts out many D3 builds every season, so I assume they'll do the same for D4. They put out a full set of class reviews from the D4 press preview in December. Last weekend, I just confirmed my class impressions. Melee Rogue 1, Sorceress 2, and Barb never. I'll try to give the last two classes a go this weekend (they weren't in the press preview so I haven't seen much solid Info on them).

I really like the fact that building a character isn't as dumbed-down as on D3. I barely scratched the surface last weekend, but first impression was very positive. My first order of business next time will be to review the graphic settings (I just have to tone down the overdone ground reflections). FWIW, here's my current favorite D4 resource: https://maxroll.gg/d4/
