  1. Game froze, so I guess it's time to make dinner. Got the clan invite, thx. Gotta figure out chat. This nonsense of having to go thru the emote wheel can't be the only way.
  2. I've tried tier 2. I like the mobs and elites, but the bosses are beyond my capability (at level 16 with mostly blue gear).
  3. My standard preorder allowed my to get the download done completely in advance, so I didn't have to wait. I didn't have any PS4/5 login issues that were widespread with early access. I'm having a blast and taking my time. Unlike during beta, I'm actually reading and watching cutscenes. @gogoblender FWIW I hear world tier 2 isn't worth it while running the campaign, and the increased rewards aren't commensurate with the higher difficulty. I did learn ingame that after the campaign the first capstone dungeon is available in tier 2. So you'll need to do tier 2 for endgame.
  4. IIRC, press the touch pad to bring up the map. Then page over to Social (? R1 or R2 ?). Clans and friends are there. Edit: @gogoblender How goes the search for your mount? FWIW, I hear it's about L30 on a campaign quest.
  5. @gogoblender I'll definitely find FDM ASAP after clearing the tutorial. I checked my friends list during the beta, and I still have you and a few other darkmatters folks from D3.
  6. It probably is a midnight release, just in GMT timezone. The timing works for me. I have time Monday to get home and have dinner before the hack and slash begins.
  7. It looks like the releases are actually: June 1 at 4 p.m. PDT June 5 at 4 p.m. PDT I was expecting 12:01 AM on the 6th. C'est la vie! https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23954935/diablo-iv-launches-soon-here-s-what-you-need-to-know
  8. Personally,I'm going to keep my wireless keyboard on the coffee table next to me for text chat. If I start doing group runs with FDM, and they're using voice chat, then I'll scrounge up my headset.
  9. Diablo IV will have integrated voice chat, but it wasn't working for PS4 during beta (there was an in-game notice saying it would be available by release). IMO that's the best bet for any real groups, especially for controller players. You probably also want to keep a keyboard handy for interacting with random passers-by.
  10. 100-to-1 says there will be cool looking mounts in the cash shop.
  11. I checked the mount vendor during beta, and it said I hadn't completed enough of the campaign yet. So I assume everyone will get mounts.
  12. Turns out the Sorc controller problems aren't just L2P issues. Consensus seems to be that Sorc is KBM only. Edit: @gogoblender That first build looks impressive. For a defensive skill, Flame Shield packs quite a punch.
  13. Was still on the fence about my 3 choices (Nerco, Sorc, Rogue). Friday I leveled all to about 6, confirmed my prior doubts about Rogue and deleted it. I got Necro to 15 and Sorc to 13. Sorc: Arc Lash, Chain Lightning, Hydra. Necro: Reap, Bone Spear, Corpse Explosion Necro still feels the stronger choice despite the nerfs after the initial beta. That being said, I'm now 60/40 in favor of Sorc at release. I assumed when I got upgraded Necro minions, they'd replace the existing ones (I.e. my 4 Warriors would go away when I got 3 Mages). Turns out they keep adding, so I have 7 minions, and would have 8 when I unlocked Golem. I don't want to be a shepherd simply herding my attack bots thru Sanctuary. I saved the Sorc build you referenced to try at release. Of course, there does seem to be controller targeting issues with Teleport. That might make a difference in my deliberations.
  14. If release is that smooth, I'll be happy. I had no delays logging in, and only experienced lag twice (and one my have been client-side).
  15. @gogoblender I bought D4 thru the Playstation Store, so that might have something to do with it. I haven't gotten anything from Blizzard. I was a little worried at first, but I was able to play in the pre-order only beta, so that alleviated my concerns.
  16. Blizzard has announce some changes based on the open beta. https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23938289/diablo-iv-open-beta-retrospective-transforming-feedback-into-change
  17. I will not be playing hard core. I refuse to risk losing a character due to the reckless or malicious behavior of strangers. During my very brief time playing PC D3, I heard numerous times "don't play public games"for that exact reason. In D4, every game is a public game.
  18. The game said voice chat would be available for launch but not in the betas (I guess Blizzard and Sony are having technical difficulties). Is the voice chat for parties, or can you connect to any players you want?
  19. If you push to a higher zone and get in over your head, you'll probably be able to retreat and farm a level-appropriate zone.
  20. My goal in beta was to pick a class. I did narrow it down to two. Melee rogue turned out to be squishy (L2P I know, but I'll come back to it when I'm more familiar with D4). Looking at either Necro (scythe/Blight) or Sorc (Lightning Whip/Chain Lightning). Now the final waiting period begins...
  21. I'm still on the fence, hard-core vs normal. I still do HC for SP games, but the MMO-esque open world of D4 makes me have second thoughts. Rouge can do either. Don't worry gogo, you'll have your ranged god. Melee is just my preference. Just remember that all rogue damage adds your bow and daggers together, so whether you go melee or ranged keep upgrading both. @Rotluchs I know what you're saying. I used to game like a full time job, but that's long gone. There's supposed to be more than quarterly seasons for D4 endgame (e.g. Nightmare Dungeons). I'm holding out hope, since seasons aren't for me. Heck, I'm not sure I can hit max level in 3 months.
  22. @gogoblender maxroll puts out many D3 builds every season, so I assume they'll do the same for D4. They put out a full set of class reviews from the D4 press preview in December. Last weekend, I just confirmed my class impressions. Melee Rogue 1, Sorceress 2, and Barb never. I'll try to give the last two classes a go this weekend (they weren't in the press preview so I haven't seen much solid Info on them).
  23. I really like the fact that building a character isn't as dumbed-down as on D3. I barely scratched the surface last weekend, but first impression was very positive. My first order of business next time will be to review the graphic settings (I just have to tone down the overdone ground reflections). FWIW, here's my current favorite D4 resource: https://maxroll.gg/d4/
  24. I'm at least going to fire it up and make sure it runs (this is my first PS4 pre-order, and I have my doubts). Not sure if I'll actually play.
