  1. Alright I've redirected the links to the main "Standard Armor" Page.

It's a tricky concept to handle on the wiki, because technically it includes the "real" set items as well. And even in the installation folders, the files names, ("cloth" set, "iron" set, etc.) they're in the "sets" folder together with the "real" set items. So I can see how it ended up being called that.

I'm avoiding the term "sets" myself. I'm using the term "Standard Items." Maybe someone will come up with a better term.

  2. Ok there's something I didn't foresee when adding the Community Patch and Christmas sets to these individual pages. They're added to the main set page as well when I did that! Therefore I'm going to undo those changes I made.

Therefore a "complete" list of each character's set items all in one list will exist on each character's page under "equipment." The set pages, I will revert back, so that Christmas and CM Patch are in their own spots. Oops.

EDIT: Yeah as you can see I've learned about "calling code" the hard way with these set pages.

It's not something I've worked with much yet. I'm still learning and I'm somewhat clumsy with the wiki software still.

EDIT2: Alright the set items pages are back to normal, like I never touched them.

The Equipment section on each character page now has links for the following:

    1) Link to the main Standard Armor page

2)Link to the Character's Unique Items page

3)Link to the Character's sets on the main Set Items Page, and underneath, a list of all set items, alphabetized, with CM Patch sets separate

  3. I have no idea about those backgrounds. I thought they were part of the mount image itself. I'll just revert them all back for now. Knuckles' images were high quality (except for Draconicon).

Even so, Sneak0r's new images still get to be viewed on all the character class pages!

Ok Mounts page is reverted, except for Draconicon. I chose the high-res picture over a matching background.

  4. Ah, focuses and lores information on the aspects page! Brilliant. Yep, there's a lot that can be done, those aspect pages just needed some love!

About the mounts: I also think I liked the frames better. The only thing about the frames is, it creates a generic blue background behind the pciture that look significantly worse than the old frosted backgrounds. See what I mean? Maybe there's some way to make it look better but I don't know what it is.

  5. Alright High Elf Character Page and Combat Arts have been done.

    Morning Sneak0r!

The Dryad pics are from the loading screens in the game. Same for the new Dragon Mage picture. I think they were also released as wallpapers.

    1. I don't know if they released a "story" text for the Dragon Mage. It's not in the manual or anywhere I can find.

    2. Personally I don't like having The Paths and The Story as such small sub-sections. Also for example "The Dryad" is the main heading for the page, I don't want to put it again as another, smaller heading. But I can see how you'd do it that way if you're using the ToC, which we're not on the English pages right now. I was going to format the remaining pages so that they look more like the new English Dragon Mage, Dryad and High Elf pages. Do you think it will be a big problem if the format is slightly different in English and German? We may not agree on what looks best.

    3. Again, I don't think there were separate "light" and "dark" texts released for the Dragon Mage. I think there were texts released for the Dryad, but they might be lost or buried in the internet. Part of the problem is that Ascaron released lots of material about the characters but their site is gone and replaced with Deep Silver's site. Deep Silver didn't preserve much of that old material.

    4. Yeah that would be neat. I like pictures.

    5. Schot uploaded that DM icon that I used on the character class page. I don't know where it came from, I could never find one.

I'm trying to copy the exact same text for the aspects and combat arts descriptions on all the pages. I hope that makes things easier.

I like that new Draconicon picture because it's higher resolution. It looks much better. I added it to the Dragon Mage page but not to the Mounts page (yet) because it doesn't match the other mounts without the background.

  6. Alright I gave the Dryad's character page the same treatment. Her Nature Weaver combat arts icons are misaligned. I didn't do that, but I can't figure out how to fix it either.

Also did a few more random Dragon Mage things - a missing unique item picture, a portrait icon for the DM on the main character page (thanks for that Schot!) and uploaded the aspect pics to his aspect pages. That should help make the aspect pages more unique. After I do the rest of the character class pages, I'll fix up their aspect pages too.

  7. The Character Class pages oddly enough never got special attention like many other sections of the wiki. The fact that you're taking an interest in the class pages flix is a blessing to them. We like your thought process on those pages. Would you be interested in working on one character class page and setting it up in a way that you think would work well? I don't think we ever officially spoke on how the character pages should be layed out so if you'd like to propose one then we're all ears. And eyes! Feel free to tinker with the Dragon Mage page. We can always revert the changes if anything goes wrong. :)

Ah, good, thanks for the encouragement Schot. I didn't make any grand changes to the character page (don't fix what isn't broken), but check out the Dragon Mage's page now. I made several small and medium changes, mostly rearranging and adding links for cross-referencing. "The Paths" section is now more like the High Elf's, with a Light and Shadow pictures. I also added in links to the Light and Shadow campaigns, aspect descriptions, and links to DM player guides in a "See Also" section. This combined with the other changes I made over the last couple days makes the template I'd like to use for the other character class pages.

  8.

I think that looks pretty good. I don't use the tables of content much myself so I don't know if I'll go about adding them back in the character pages myself.

Alright I made a few more changes to the Dragon Mage page. First, I added links to the Dragon Mage's uniques and standard set items pages. Second, I added a link to the DM's Christmas set (with note about CM Patch of course). The idea here is that if someone's on the Dragon Mage page, that should be a hub with links to all things Dragon Mage-related. I'm planning to do the same for the other characters as well.[...]

Please tell me again, why you've added "Dragon Mage Standard Items", and "Dragon Mage Unique Items" topics to the Dragon Mage page? We already have http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5?title=Sacred_2:Standard_Armor // http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Dragon_Mage_Standard_Set_Items and we also already have http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5?title=Sacred_2:Uniques_Database // http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Dragon_Mage_Uniques.

There is imho no point in adding them to the all the classes pages as well! You can add them as "see also" topic if you want to.

And you can even simply reach everything from the Sacred 2: Fallen Angel introduction page (http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Fallen_Angel).

Please try to convince me to add this to the /de pages as well :)

€dit: I can change the __TOC__ stuff for all character pages of the english version as well, if no one has anything against that

You can also reach combat arts, set items, skills, mounts, runes, and attributes from the main page as well. Does that mean they shouldn't be on the character class pages? There would be almost nothing at all on the character pages if that's how we did it!

A strong wiki is thoroughly cross-referenced, with information easy to find from any given page. I'm thinking from my own experience as a wiki user. The standard and unique items available to a character should be at least be linked on that character's page. It's a basic piece of information that users might miss otherwise when learning about that character. We're not placing all that information on the character page itself, which would be redundant, instead we are simply referencing the page to the user. The description on the front page does say:

I guess that ought to say seven characters now.

And Gogo- I understand concerns about piling too much material on a page, but there's really only one other thing I would add to the character page, and that is a link to the class quests. Since each character page already has a section called "The Story" I was thinking of simply adding a link to their class quest page (their own specific story-line, as it were) there. And really, after that, I think the character pages would be thorough and complete. Check it out. Not too cluttered at all, eh?

I put the equipment under one heading now so the link font sizes are in keeping with the rest of the page.

If there's no objections to this template I'm going to make these adjustments to the other character pages.

Oh yeah, Sneak0r thanks for rearranging the High Elf paths pictures. That was on my to-do list.

I'm planning to do the same for the other characters as well.

I also changed the Draconicon section of the page, linking to the Mounts main page instead of the Mounts quest in the heading, adding in the official description, a picture, and a link to the main Draconicon page.

I also had a question about some text I removed from the Draconicon section:

There are 3 different availabilities (4 with the Community Patch) with different colors, however all give the same 'Dragon Magic' bonus. As unique mounts offer the player a significant combat art regeneration time extra bonus, the mounts are divided into individual categories. This means that in the Dragon Mage's case, there should be a Draconican which specializes in Elemental Magic and gives -33.3% to the combat art regeneration, and a Mentalism Draconican which gives -33.3% to Mentalism combat art regeneration, to oppose the average +50% combat art negative bonus. If a player completes just the single Unique Mount quest only Dragon Draconicans specialists will become available at an approximate cost of 250,000 gold.

It says that in Ice and Blood the Draconicon is only available in one variety, with the Dragon Magic bonus. Is this correct, that before the CM Patch there's only one Draconicon type? I know they added the 4th non-aspect variety with the CM Patch but I don't see anything about that other stuff in the CM Patch changelog. If it turns out to be correct I'll add the text to the notes on the Draconicon page.

  10. Allright, now I have some extra work to do. To help me out a bit, where did you find the informations about the light and shadow path? I cant find them in the user manual?!

I got it from the character creation screen. When you hover the mouse over one of the seven character portraits the character begins speaking and introducing themselves. The text also pops up in a block. If you switch to Shadow campaign, the introduction changes. I just took a screenshot of each text block and then typed it.

The old Character Class page already contained all the Light Path intros (except for Inquisitor who is Shadow only), so I added the Shadow intros.

  11. Alright I've given the Character Class page a bit of an overhaul.

First, I saw the introductions for each character were from the Light Path only ("I'm a Dryad..."). So I added in the Shadow Path introductions and differentiated between the two paths (side note: looks like we need pages for Light and Shadow campaigns - haven't double checked though).

Second, rather than translate Sneak0r's German I transcribed the same text for the Dragon Mage from the English manual and character creation screens.

Third, about the old Dragon Mage info that reads "part of a cloak-and-dagger dragon cult," etc...I cut out and it remains on the main DM page under "The Story" like the other characters now.

Next, I've cleaned up the DM's combat arts section and added links to the aspect pages. I've also added descriptions to the DM aspects on the general aspects page, the DM's CA page, and in each aspect's own page.

I was thinking of doing the same for the other character classes' aspect pages. Look how barebones they are by comparison for example.

I think I'll work on descriptions/pages for the transformation shapes and abilities next. There are more descriptive texts for the DM spells, I just have to get them from the game.

Oh, and I'll look into the Draconicon stuff soon too. Takin' a little break now!
