I am one of those early installers. I always have been. I read the warnings and study manuals and research the heck out of it. But when I get something in my hot hands I have to install. First of all let me give my my system specs. Socket A Athlon 1.1 ghz 512 MB PC2700 32 mb Asus V7100 Gigabyte 7Ns400sl....... Those are the important ones there So of course I'm running Vista Home Basic. I looked at the comparisons and this version has everything I need and I am always free to upgrade when I upgrade my system. So how is it running? Well everything seems to be running at the same speed as Windows XP Home and I am running with all the bells and whistles enabled. The sidebar tends to bog the system down slightly; the only reason I noticed is because I had the CPU meter running on the side bar. Even hovering the cursor over the sidebar causes the CPU usage to spike. Sacred: When I ran Windows XP Pro sacred ran fine. But I'm ashamed to admit that my copy of XP pro was not exactly.....well you know. This year I decided to get rid of all of my questionable software and purchase them. Windows was first. Because of financial concerns I opted for XP Home. Ever since Home was installed the intro for sacred was very choppy:video and sound. The game ran fine after that though. With Vista sacred starts smoth as silk...as long as the sidebar is not running. But I can't play online any more. Real shame about that because Zinsho(sp?) told me last night that gogo was starting to play again. So to sum it all up... Looks great and will run great after three upgrades:CPU, RAM, Video card. Can't play Sacred HC for awhile. How I feel for installing it, knowing that I would not be able to play Sacred and doing it anyway. Eagerly awaiting the release of Sacred 2 PS. I've spent the past three hours running back and forth across my neighborhood with a big mallet. I've been wacking anyone outside, but so far my drops have been crappy. I guess my survival bonus is not high enough.

There was, on the SIF, a post dedicated solely to limericks. Not to toot my own horn but I think that I proved that I--A lovable short, stocky, balding guy(George Castanza is my hero) can go toe to toe with the best of them. I'm pretty sure that the thread is gone now. But I'd like to set up shop over here. Anyone who remembers that thread might remember my fixation on certain events that would occur in the wells of Mascarel, and while I can't promise that I won't bring that up again--I can promise to do my best. The old burning sweet potatoe trick..... Must admit, I've never done that before. I did ruin a microwave once with one of those microwave rice cookers. To this day I still swear that the directions said put it in for 30 minutes. What was left of the rice was suitable for use in a fishtank filter. And not to go off topic, but remember those vacuum food sealers? The one that also comes with special marinating containers? I put some chicken and spices in one of those and sucked all the air out. I stuck it in the fridge and the thing exploded. The center piece was sucked into the bowl and the rest of the lid jumped to another shelf. The liquid contents--soy sauce mostly--sprayed the entire inside of the fridge. The company provided free replacements and took the broken one to their R&D lab to study. But as far as microwave destruction stories go....I bow to the master.

I still play. I have a greedy Dwarf in plat who is collecting uniques. I grow tired of BM's but I have one in silver. And, having just seen Ultraviolet on cable, I was inspired to created a vamp.
