  1. I know there was some work made on idle animations but I can't remember if the transitions between the stances were changed in any way. Flix and/or Dimitrius should be able to answer your question properly though.
  2. All I can say is that you can only teleport to ports by clicking on the map since CM Patch 1.60, so either something went wrong with the game's installation or the patch's. I'd recommend a clean reinstall with removal of all local files and reg keys prior to installing whichever version of the game plus 1.60 on top of it.
  3. If that's the case then you just need to press ALT when hovering over the item and it'll show an asterisk next to the skill that unlocks the bonus, as well as right next to the particular bonus. It's the same key you press when you want to compare an item in your inventory against an item that's already equipped.
  4. Hey guys, here are the snaps for the grave reading and its placement in the dungeon. It's really the last one near the door before Orpheus.
  5. There was a similar question not too long ago, and the answer was that it wasn't impossible but almost as much. There aren't character animations for riding mounts from other classes and some other stuff that I can't recall right now also wouldn't work. Short answer is "no".
  6. Well, I guess it depends on a lot of factors to be honest. It depends on character level and difficulty level more so than others. When you're below mastery level and at Silver or Gold difficulties most modifiers will provide a significant impact, even though they have small percentages. The same with attributes too, as small boosts early on provide enough benefits to have them equipped. But once you get to your sixth skill or so the modifier that will impact the most is definitely "+all skills" since it boosts every single aspect of your character. When you get near and over mastery level and start getting further on into higher level enemies and higher difficulty levels you'll notice that those smaller percentages don't do much and that you'll need those values to be way higher to be truly effective. But in return the gear you get will also have higher number so it compensates a bit. One fundamental truth is that there are modifiers that only work properly when they're high enough, like "opponent's level for deathblow". Anything below 50% on that modifier and it's not worth it in my book since it allows you to deal double damage when the enemy's health is below that percentual value. So having it at 20/30/40% is really unproductive since it'll wield really small results if you have a decent DPS rate already. Another one that works poorly at low percentual values is "chance that opponent's cannot evade attacks", as opposed to "opponent's chance to evade". While the former only truly works at percentual values above 25% (it's an estimate really not a flat value) the later can be proficient at 20/30%. There are a lot of nuances so there isn't a definitive guide when it comes to modifiers in this game and it really depends on how you play it. But the more you play it the more you'll notice how some work better than others. At lower difficulty levels you can kill bosses without the "% life leech from opponents" modifier. Now try to do the same in Platinum where the same boss can have 500k HP and deal enough damage to kill you in half a dozen hits! It's at that point in time that you realize how that modifier becomes truly helpful, not only offensively but also defensively (killing faster with life leech means taking less damage and retaining more HP). There's a lot to focus on yes, but soon enough you'll see yourself focusing on the same few modifiers for optimal results. Just give it time.
  7. Correct. All loot has a countdown until it disappears, so my guess is that you've spent too long clearing your inventory and it went away. Best course of action is always to clear your inventory prior to instances where you're more likely to get decent loot, like boss battles or grinding at places where enemies are abundant. It's a good way to not loose anything important.
  8. Actually the first thing that I think of when I see Olms is the Man Thing, but then again I had his (its) genesis book when I was an infant so that may be it. In turn the Man Thing is very Lovecraftian so the Olms are as much I guess. The Octagolamus has clear nods to the Cthulhu Mythos too although its nautilus shape reminds me a lot more of Jules Verne than Lovecraft. Ha, I must be old!
  9. Awesome avatar, ha ha. The quest is this and the Wiki gives the placement for the dungeon entrance: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Orpheus That snap above is actually from the chain quest page on the Wiki: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Orpheus_Himself
  10. It's not there Gogo, it's in this dungeon, I'm most certain that it's one of the graves just before you enter the hallway where the green arrows are. Right next to that door.
  11. During the Orpheus quest in Thylisium where you rescue (or not) the loved ones from a bony necromancer you travel through a large dungeon filled with coffins and tombs, and one of the tombs has a curious inscription which seemed awfully familiar to me. It reads "'Nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" which is a direct quote from H. P. Lovecraft's literary work. So I'm curious to hear if anyone has ever found further references to the Cthulhu Mythos in the lands of Ancaria. Though references to popular culture are plentiful I don't recall seeing references to horror literature in the game. So yeah, give some input from your experience, it should be fun.
  12. Yeah I'm not sure if the summons orders keys work for quest NPCs, I don't think I've ever tried it to be honest. But I can vouch for minion behaviour as it works pretty well, well, at least Nether Allegiance does.
  13. It's like Woody said, no way around it since it's a CA modification. You can increase the damage even further via gear though.
  14. Not sure if serious, but I'll bite. Second and most important of all, if you want to grab Fallen Angel v2.0.2 (if memory serves it's the original DVD version of the game) without all the amendments done by the devs themselves which on Gold took the game up to 2.65 then by all means go for it. We're all happy as we are playing Gold+CM Patch 1.60 without crashes. Sure there have been nerfs over each version but it's just that, they've been implemented with each version update, and thankfully so as the game was incredibly unbalanced. Like I said just a while ago in another topic, you can already rule Ancaria with +5 All Skills jewellery let alone +15 All Skills jewellery like it was on earlier versions. On a more specific note to Bargaining, the results you get on vendors are generated within a boundary of quality so you get stuff between x-y levels of quality, which in reality means you can get great and not so great stuff. You only need to keep shopping to make your toon OP though. I have a very OP level 60 Inquisitor with over 70% in deathblow for instance, and I have a shopping ladder and all of that to buy my toons stuff at specific levels, so in the end I don't get your complaints. Unless you really want +15 All Skills jewellery. Then all you can do is grab an old and bugged to hell version of the game yes. To each his own and all that I guess.
  15. Indeed it took some work, but I'm glad it's all working now. Have fun!
  16. No problem. By the way, your confusion lies with the "hotfix" word since CM Patch 1.60 was released on December and given a "hotfix" a week later but it has stayed like that ever since, whereas the Addendum has a "hotfix" which is being updated as reports are taken cared of. Hope that clears the air.
  17. Wait, you're using the Addendum+Hotfix without installing the CM Patch 1.60? Well if so that right there is the cause of your issues. You need to install the Addendum on top of CM Patch 1.60! That's why you don't have those files man, they're installed by the CM Patch 1.60 in the first place! Here's what you're going to do to get things in order: Do a clean reinstall of the game Install CM Patch 1.60 from this link: Copy Trimmed Elite Textures into the PAK folder: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5yMxfzmPZ4_R2J2eFZxc2wzeGc Play the game, you shouldn't have any exceptions like you've found so far Only then will you use the Addendum+Hotfix so you can enjoy Dimitrius' mod I'll be damned if this doesn't solve your issues!
  18. Yeah, but the CM Patch adds particle files because some were changed with it, namely magic staff projectiles. I'm counting them on my folder and there are 16 particle files with modify dates different from the install date of the game, which means that they were added later by the CM Patch, and all of them are x_something or fx_something. Do you still run into exceptions even with the vanilla game (without anything else installed on top of it)? Because that really shouldn't happen as well. I was thinking that maybe something went wrong during the patch installation and that some files weren't properly placed or something like that, but now I'm a bit confused as to what it could be. And if you did a clean install of the game, I mean, it should be working! Anyway, with CM Patch 1.60 I have 843 files in my particle folder, and like I said 16 of those with modify dates dating from 16/10/2017 to 25/11/2017. You can cross-check with your install if you want to.
  19. There's nothing wrong with the Steam version nor any missing files, as I've been using it myself and never had these issues. A ntdll error is a problematic issue though, and it may be the indirect cause of your problems with the game since it's a system error. You should try fixing your system first and then see if your game still crashes, everything else is just throwing the dust under the carpet until it all blows up on your face. Depending on how old you Windows installation is you should think about reinstalling it, if it's recent then run the recovery tool from Windows's disc/image to try and repair the system, if you HDD is old it may be getting faulty and corrupting files, you may have a virus that's tampering with your system, etc. Try some troubleshooting because I can guarantee you that Sacred 2 shouldn't be causing ntdll errors, like at all!
  20. Glad it worked, but it still shouldn't be crashing like that... Could you post the crash reports from the Windows Event Viewer please? It often says where the problem is. If they all say the same post just one.
  21. These are the files that match your error, couldn't be sure on which "missile 3" you needed so I uploaded both. Navigate to "drive letter:\***\Steam\steamapps\common\Sacred 2 Gold\scripts\particle" and place the missing files there, as according to that error they should be missing. If Windows asks you to overwrite try doing so after creating backups of the original and see if the exception still occurs. x_gen_missile3.particle fx_gen_missile3.particle x_stone_streak.particle That error sounds like something went wrong during the installation of one the additional components, or it could be that one of the mods isn't compatible with the rest (I'm looking at the Reduced Fog mod to be honest since the rest is by now fully compatible). By the way, did you download the more recent version of Enhanced Edition or are you using the old one?
  22. Nah, it's like Woody said, as soon as you take the skill the damage indicator on every CA is recalculated accordingly. Same thing with Ancient Magic for spell-based CAs. Regen per hit, LL and Deathblow don't work anymore with spell-based CAs, but they still do with weapon-based CAs so you can still take advantage of them in peculiar ways. Three other CAs which are considered hybrid are also affected by those modifiers, those being Archangel's Wrath (SE), Magic Coup (HE) and Spectral Hand (SW). But I'm glad that it was made this way, imagine playing with a Glacial Thorns Ice Elf and having those three modifiers proccing! It must've been totally insane, not to mention utterly overpowered! So you see, it's good that some things were nerfed because they were really unbalanced. Right now with "only" +4/+5 All Skills jewellery you can already make a beast out of any build, imagine with +15 All Skills jewellery like there was before...
  23. Deathly Spears is known to be an end-game killer CA, but at lower levels it ins't incredibly awesome no. Choosing between CD and WEL depends on your play style, it's basically an "offensive vs defensive" choice. It's funny that you mention the triple/quadruple CA combos because in fact I pretty much only use combos for two CAs at a time. There are times where a triple CA combo would make sense but mainly because of casting animations I mostly don't use them. A recent example I've come across was with an Inquisitor, where it's more proficient to use a two CA combos in a row rather than using a triple CA combo repeatedly. In my case I was between using Clustering Maelstrom+Ruthless Mutilation+Callous Execution vs Clustering Maelstrom+Ruthless Mutilation followed by Ruthless Mutilation+Callous Execution. And what do you know, the second scenario actually works much better! On the other hand don't ignore the sheer damage bonus provided by CD, since it isn't a flat value but a percentual one. You can easily have a 30-40% damage increase with that skill alone, and killing stuff faster means you can focus less on defensive skills and modifiers. So yeah, the game has at its core a basic mechanics of balance between offensive and defensive aspects. None is better than the other as long as you can survive. Case in point, the BFG Seraphim can kill mostly everything in one-two shots from afar, before enemies hit the toon. So there's room for a lesser focus on defensive aspects. In fact I'm playing one myself with only Armor Lore and Toughness, just for the challenge of it, and it still works! I guess that's the most fun part about this game, the search for balance with each build you make.
  24. Just teleport back and forth between Start Island and any other town. Every time you land there the merchants' inventories will be reset, merchant/smith/runemaster alike.
