  1. Good to hear BardicAnne!

Just keep in mind, at some point when you are in a position to do so, I would *highly* recommend getting a Steam or GoG account and acquire a digital copy for enjoying Sacred on pc (with a personal preference for GoG because you can actually download the installation files and save them on a USB drive, so you never need to download the game again). I had so much trouble with the physical copies I would only go there if no other path would be available to me. (If it interests you: I had to update the firmware of my dvd drive of all things to install the game when it came out...)

  2. Here's some info about the whole pay2win system in Diablo Immortal:

Forbes writes: Oh Yes, ‘Diablo Immortal’ Is Absolutely Pay-To-Win, Eventually

Just wanted to chime in on the we're all adults but not everyone playing is an adult... With the way the laws are set up, Blizzard would actually have to put an 18+ label on the game  and operate under a gambling license *if* what I think the problematic mechanics could be. Basically you're not allowed to have minors gambling on something representing actual currency and there would be some necessary form of identification. Mainly, the problem here (in the Netherlands) would be the ability to monetize your lootbox items. In CS:GO for instance, I can buy the skins themselves on the marketplace if I want to, but I cannot use cases and keys

However this quote from the Dutch website Tweakers.net suggests that the actual economic value that these lootboxes represent should not be the issue:

    Quote

It is obvious that Blizzard will not release the game due to legislation against loot boxes in Belgium. The Belgian Gaming Commission applies strict rules against loot boxes in games. If they can be purchased with money and if chance plays a role in obtaining the content, they are in violation of the gambling law. As a result, many free-to-play games do not appear in Belgium.

It is striking that Blizzard does not release the game in the Netherlands either. According to the Dutch Gaming Authority, a loot box is only a game of chance if its content represents an economic value. That is, it should be possible to trade the virtual content for real money. As far as is known, it is not possible to sell virtual items for money in Diablo Immortal.

But in short, yeah, games with lootboxes are seen as a big issue here.
And I don't mind some kind of cosmetic microtransaction system. But pay2win, naaaaaahhhhh...

  3. Well I won’t be able to play without some fandangling, since Belgium and the Netherlands have been cracking down on gambling in games (like lootboxes mainly) Blizzard has decided to just not release the game to our markets at all. I mean, they could’ve just taken that stuff out…

I will need to mess around with VPN’s to get the game and run the risk of my account getting banned.

  4. You guys eat so much healthier than me. I don't hate veggies or anything, and we've drastically limited our meat consumption compared to 5-10 years ago. But being Dutch, I've grown up accustomed to the typical Dutch breakfast/lunch which is 2 slices of bread (with any kind of topping). I vary my breakfast these days and may opt for be oatmeal or yoghurt with muesli, but generally my lunch always consists of bread. Easy to bring to work, quick to make in a pinch. But we ran out of bread after this weekend. My solution? I ordered two small pizza's for dinner on Monday instead of one so I could eat the other one split between breakfast and lunch the next day. :chattius:

Let's just say I enjoy pizza. Oh and please don't tell the missus. :sweating:

Timmoooooo... mooooooooooooorning :D Im all smiley after listening to and watching that video of your city... it paired well with my weekend morning earlly ritual coffee, your city is marvelous, with a lot of arts, and focus on architecture.  We also are a fan of festivals and make sure to *accidentally* bump into the numerous ones held here in Montreal with the Montreal Jazz fest being the biggest draw.

Is there a lot of bike paths where you're located? We have huge infrastructure here with a lot of the bikes going Ebike which I use to visit Ammamma in good weather

    :)

    gogo

Bikepaths are everywhere. On busier roads there's a dedicated cycling path next to it, seperated from the road itself, and on most other roads it's fairly common to have either painted bike paths where cyclists share the road with cars or have separate cycling lanes as well. We actually have a separate bike path on either side of the road right in front of our house.

Funfact, the quirky round bridge you see at 1:50 and 1:56 in the first video is actually a bridge for cyclists. Here you can see it on Google Maps:

If you zoom in, the pink/orangey lanes are the designated cycling lanes. They really are everywhere, just scroll around :)

  6. Hah over 2 months have passed and everything's still a work in progress is what it feels like. We keep working on the house, but there's just such a looong list of chores we want to finish up before it feels 'done'. And big ones as well, like redoing the garden front and back. Money just seems to fly out of our accounts lately with little things...

On the plus side, the racing setup is coming along nicely. It's been put together, now it just needs a coat of paint. Probably going to slap some primer on that thing tomorrow morning, so I can have the whole thing ready for my day off!

  7. @gogoblender my good sir, have there been any progress on my wiki account? :4rofl:
I was browsing Twitch around the weekend and saw some guys playing the original Sacred for nostalgia reasons, I wanted to help the guy with a few things but noticed a lot was missing on the wiki. Aside from getting the itch to fire up good ol'reliable to spend some time there, I also want to expand the wiki on the original game. So I tried to log in again today, but I am still running into the same issue.
