NYE spent with flu at home grinding at Sacred2. Cannot remember the last time I played that much....addiction, therapy... The 3rd boss also went down surprisingly easy and quickly with GT. We are now clvl 46 I guess and we have only MS lore and Focus maxed. DA focus is at 9ish hard points just enough to have all 3 mods on GI. Rest of points unspent as we were unsure what exactly do / which route to follow. All skills +32 now...all CAs only +2. We have some chance to halve items and without even knowing it we noticed we have it already at 22,2% We got some nice drops btw, like glaciar defender but currrently we are using Nolvae Staff ilvl 50 and Shield of Mirrors ilvl 33. I got two really good itemsbut the game crashed and they were not saved Atramak or something amulet with a very nice all res was one of them tough luck Now we will be rushing to finis Silver. I did not realize this game is so huge...atm levelling a little at swamp... Cheers

Now - back to the issue at hand - I read somethign about leaving focus skills at slvl 21 because of diminishing returns and some other complicated mathematical calculations / explaations my mind simply refuses to digest and absorb the flu, ya know... We are keeping focus and lore at clvl which is 42 now - I hope its not gonna be much of a problem given u guys recommend keeping them at clvl... The first two bosses - the golem and the octopuss - they came down big time and it was actually my daughter (6ish) who defeated them which is why we do need to rush to gold as now we can simply stand in a mob of 10+, 15+ orcs on silver in a cloud of raging nimbus and take ...no dmg . the only problem atm, slight problem, is the desert with all these little scorpions...they seem to be hitting like a truck...what's the deal? as these scorpions are the only creatures that can visibly hurt us? And our equipment is not optimized at all: - we stack + skills now running with +28 to all skills - we have a CS buff suit that gives us +21ish to CS while only 1 rune memorized - we wear what seems to be best at any given moment - no special attention to dmg mitigation or chance to halve reganeration now...but I believe these will shine later on? - And we are also considering mastering Armour vs Constitution as 3rd option...in the long run - what do u think will reap more benefits? cheers

Guys...I wouldn't have phrased it all better Actually now I cannot phrase anything properly as this damn flu is really getting to us whole family Definition as it is but we all seem to perceive things from our own perspective and apply different interpretation or simply our subjective feelings or see things through our own personal experience... In DIII for example - after a week or so I can get...everyone can get..all the BiS items for a given toon - maybe not ancient or with best possible stats but still...u get adjusted drops - for your class, cube, kadala, so with little investment of time I could easily get for example all the uber gear for my HotA barb, including the elusive little rouge and slenderer Thats the way the game is build and tbh this RNG in SII was really getting on the wrong side of me but now it is all better And I prefer SII better esp now as we arrived at this orcish territory - awesome So - thx for the help with the .txt file Hooyaah - u help to bring the fun back to my / our game Happy new year guys

yeap...something must have gone wrong but I didnt notice anything off...well...all fine...thx Now I installed the patch + I replaced a txt file just like the instruction said. Problem solved

Well...Ill be damned... something must have gone wrong during the first install... so I did what I always do...uninstalled...turned off computer...turned it on...install and... now it says: v.265.2, build 1837, en-UK, CM1 Patch 0160 The difference is big...interface is black...graphics way better and smoother...details sharper...on default settings all.... below is exactly the same printscreen but after reinstall - the difference is obvious and the invisible items changed names and now display properly

My game ver.: 265.1, build 1782 I do not have any mods installed. Only a change was made to .txt file to slightly increase rares drop rate, it was set to 1.8. I am running Win 7 home premium 64 bit. This problem affects abouy 10% of items of all kinds, also blue ones. I described this items as green as its name is Green as u can see in the screenshot. I did not tamper with settings...I set to very high the graphic display and the affected equipment started to glow, aura-like effect so I switched back to default. btw, there is a quick popup window as I start the game saying something about some colours in Win 7 not being compatible with game and it will be switched to lower settings...

All runs just fine on my computer incluso other games... ? I googled it and it turnes out there are various cases reported regarding this but no solution is given... Well its not game breaking as all the bonuses are there so ... But if u guys happen to come up with a solution I would highly appreciate it

Hi guys I noticed something strange in the way some items are displayed. Below is a pic I took with my mobile as I have some problems with printscreens but u can see the issue there clearly... I am wearing green leather vest of wealth - it does not show on my chest slot although it is there...I get all the stats from it...I can socket it...but in my chest slot and inventory it is invisible ...and when I put it on it looks like it was drawn by a kid and doesnt at all resemble artwork of other pieces of equipment... is it normal? can something be done about it? just checked some things out - the problem seems to affect only some of the green items as yellows blues and whites are displayed correctly cheers

Balance Someone like u needs to be so that someone like me can exist ...gamewise of course We keep the balance in the games universe Guardians of balance.... Well...I will stop here as I feel temoerature is setting in Now can of energy drink some aspirin and maybe an hour of grinding Cheers

Well... I like balance. I like grinding. I know its all RNG but with limited time on my hands these day I would love to see a drop every now and then... And with regular balance file untill clvl 30 on silver I got maybe 3 - 4 drops, mostly lousy With this adjusted .txt file - I do not know exactly what was changed - now I can see a drop approx. every 2 hrs. And vendours also have slightly better offer. Btw, when I say "a drop" I mean some good stuff I can actually use This brought back The Spark to my Sacred 2 gaming and grinding....esp mow that I might have even less time. Grinding aside....I remember back in the DILoD Day farming mephisto for a month straight only NOT to see the drop I wanted. I know , I know now ... but when it would finally drop it was the reward...ultimate reward but again I have little time these days and WITHOUT changed balance it was just frustration and now it is fun again... Of course I still do have to grind but at least rng seems to like me a little better. Then again there is this ongoing eternal discussion about cheating and what it is...changing a single digit in the txt file from 2 to 3 for exampke is cheating even if this might bear no implication on actual gameplay? But otoh....someone mighylt say if u choose to change it why not from 2 to 2000 and get the ultimate drop every time a mob is killed? Where does one draw a line? And again installing community patches fixing some bugs the fevs dud not care about....but maybe they did care and the game was designed like this... Anyway...if this is not for competitive purposes o believe everyone shall play the game they fancy. Lije DIII if u make it to leaderboards with 22hrs of botting a day it is lame and it is cheating... But if u dont compete if its only u vs machine who cares...your game your fun. I know ppl for whom definition of fun is to have the bot running 20 hrs straight and then in the morning with a glass of coffe quickle see what was collected leave for work set the bot running again and repeat ad nausea...but if yhey like it what impact does it have on me? Anyway...I wouldnt even consider it playing but if this is what tickles their fancy..... I like grinding. I like actually playing the game. But I also want it to be a nice relaxing experience and not a frustrating one with all this frustration in everyday life. In the pm when wife daughter are asleep and I have this hr just for myself I want to chill out...and if I happen to play for 2 hrs without any reward it is frustrating. But now I can see a drop a little mor often. Fun and interest in game have been revived I dont know if all of this makes much sense and is very coherent but im on my mobile in bed with a damn flu feeling like...I was grinding for a year without any good drop

We've taken 8 skills so far: MS Lore, MS focs, DA focus, Ancient Magic, Constitution, Armour, Concentration and Spell resistance. MS lore and focus at clvl. DA focus a few points just enough to unlock 3 mods for DI. all other at skill level 1. From items: all skills +24.

My brother in law - the blasphemer who would say ice elves suck - he is currently doing a fire elf, clvl 40ish. We did some testing in the desert area with all the scorpions - for me the toughest zone so far. Well...his fire power /no pun intended/ is better then mine, not that much but still, but I can hold my own way way better I also dug up my old pyro HE and fooled around with her a little. A few impressions /my very personal and subjective/: - ice HE is more versatile; - ice HE is kind of late bloomer; - dmg output /as compared to pyro HE/ seems to be a little smaller but overall - survivability + dmg + versatility- Ice HE beats Pyro HE hands down ; - ice HE is more fun. This is of course comparing toons approx. clvl 40 on silver

Thank you....but sometimes wiki doesnt say it all...like this hp regen thing...GI says only it regens hp while in constitution it is written explicitely u need to master it to get hp regen in combat... This cheater brother of mine is gonna try it out tomorrow...this .txt file I really like this HE....the pyro I played while back was not so durable which is why I quit....but ice is fun... The best part is different CA I mod to meet various ends like Area of Effect, cc, boss...pyro was not that versatile or maybe it is just me not so good at rpgs ... Btw, we just hit 32...cannot wait to hit 35 to pick constitution as we messed up a little with armour and spell res... MS focus and lore are high, DA focus just enough to get 3 points to fully mod GI and next Armour only to unlock constitution. First 3 CA to master will be ms lore, ms focus and constitution. Cheers

Thank you Now...it's not me...it's my bad twin brother asking...but since he insisted so much I gave in... What exactly does HE have to change in this balance file so that HE gets slightly better drops...the only cool thing he got so far is level 30 Glaciar Defender... He likes to kill stuff to get his loot but otoh he does not want to to spoil the game completely for himself. So this whole "adjustment venture" would be a minor tampering with the said file... So, is there a point in slightly adjusting this file or it is better to leave it as it is and pray to RNGesus for better drops...:) Just remembered it - life regeneration - Constitution needs to be mastered to have life regen during combat but what about life regen from Life Energy in GI - is it permanent, both in and out of combat or is it just out of combat HP regen? I am quite unsure about something: crystal skin provides a bonus of : "Chance to Reflect Magic Attacks (Combat Arts): +19.1%". bronze mod says : "Glacial Mirror - Increases the chance to reflect incoming detrimental magical effects. (8% + 0.4% per CA level chance to reflect combat arts)" Is it more of the same thing for a total bonus of 19.1 + 8 + what comes with eating more runes? MS Expertise gold mod from Crystal Skin vs. Replenish silver mod from GI - is it exactly the same - simple % bonus to regen times? Or is there a catch? If it is just more of the same then according to tooltip it would be way more beneficial to take only MS Expertise from CS - 26.7% + 1.3% per CA level decrease vs. 7% + 0.7% per CA level decrease. cheers

I need to pay more attention....but wait we have this 1h axe with approx 16 % chance Btw, is there a corelation between quests and better drops ie the more quests completed the better drops? Hello...here I go again I read your guide - as I already said pretty damn informative and thotough But still we're on the fence as to Replenish vs Life energy for GI... How many pieces of equipment will we need to reach this 100% chance to halve regen? How high a clvl do we have to be to have this 100%? Let's say we will stop at clvl 100...wouldn't we be better off with this -regen bonus? Will it be very hard to get this 100% and what level can we expect to attain this? Constitution will be master 3rd - how hard will we be punished in gold / plat for not taking life energy? Im asking as with very limited time on my hands I don't like the idea of starting over several times the same toon cheers

OK guys... @moderators - I would like to ask u a favour - could u please change the thread title to someting more appropriate, like fire / ice elf tips for a new player or maybe just elf tips for a new player...as inadvertently I hijacked it a little and turned into ice elf discussion thread - expulse magic & cascading shroud & shadow step - shall I keep my eye out on rune consumption? How many runes shall I consume for these? is there any danger in "overeating" - "lore issues"...ehh...we got shield of mirror and an increadible sword with 4 sockets...the problem is it somehow doesnt tickle our fancy and we prefer staff or some 1h wand / staff and more appropriate shield but we hate to miss on all those slots ...can u recommend any 2H staff or 1h staff and better looking shield? preferably downloadable from wiki ... ...or maybe on Silver / Gold it is possible to forget about this whole optimizing thing and go with a cool looking 2H staff? - cascading shroud...would it make any sense to mod it like this: mist / intangible / steam? this is what I have in mind ... . Faint percent is really small... - GI - replenish - this regeneration time reduction looks really tempting....otoh...will it be defficult to get 100% halved regen time? from wiki: Replenish - Further decreases the regeneration time of all spells. (7% + 0.7% per CA level decrease) vs Arrant Pyromancer Expertise - The regeneration time for the aspect Arrant Pyromancer will decrease significantly. I'm 40, feeling like 60 but gaming and grinding (experience, loot) like damn 20 My favourite games of all time: TQIT, DII, Grim Dawn, Might and Magic 6 - 9, and now rediscovering Sacred 2 with my...ehh...OUR HE (my daughter's and mine). I am just an average dude with mortgage, wife, kid, job, you name it ... all this mundane staff I'm from Poland, English and Spanish my two favourite languages Have been talking in Polish for the last four decade so I kind of got used to it and a little tired with it Now...10ish pm here...wife and kid fast asleep so daddy's gonna do some serious experience grinding cheers EDIT: to keep my conscience calm I will listen to Spanish news in the background Maybe I shall install Spanish ver of Sacred 2 but this is a big maybe...

I do not know how it is possible I did not stumble across it earlier. Very thorough and informative, exactly as I need a guide to be - the whats and most importantly the WHYS Two things - I need to bear in mind this chance to halve regen time I have a nice 1h axe with an inherent 17,3% and 2 x gold slot with clvl requirement 15 And Pentagram - this will be my choice too cheers
