  1. Relax. There are more of them. You will stumble into them after a while :)

But what angers me is that the studio sold three times an unfinished product, Sacred, Sacred Plus and Sacred Underworld, 30 bucks each, and was bold enough to move on to the next product, Sacred 2, without even roughly fixing the first one. As soon as money started to roll in, there was no holding back anymore.
Surf the wave as long as possible, mooch off as much money as you can and dont look back. A good example for a nasty and totally ruthless economist build.
Well yeah. We all know the ending. A few years later, Mister Big drove the studio against the wall. Head on.

Sacred 1 could be mercilessly old school with the RPG elements in its quests. Plenty of them were designed to continue on should you fail an objective, as opposed to modern games where the quest just ends with a red X in the journal.

Good point. But it is not over yet. There are a few bigger obstacles in the way, which prevent a successful leap forward, but we are not in a hurry. Those who play sacred now will still play it in five years.

  3. I think there were two teams who worked at sacreds rpg elements. The serious guys who tried to implement a little roleplay, possibly maybe the rpg team Ascaron has swallowed, and the team who has never worked with rpgs before. It acted like a turtle, which has been turned on the back. Both results are clearly visible.
There is a guy who has written an editor for Sacreds text files. I am hoping for a release.

  4. Hello neighbour!

The whole unmodified game is a huge pile of bugs. To stumble into something strange is nothing special. But overall you can say that the game wants you
    to win.

However. I would suggest to play the game for a while so that you understand the regeneration mechanics a bit better. You have found wolfes lair already,
thats good, check the wiki too for more info. As soon as you got the feeling that you are ready, move on to the reborn mod.

  5. Good day!

You might look for SevPoots who is making Character skins for Seraphim especially. Just ask, he seems to be a nice
    guy. Link:
    https://sevpoots.wordpress.com/author/sevpoots/

Letting the Seraphims wings disappear is, afaik, only possible as workaround. Get the PaK-Extractor, find the
texture, delete it and save the blank file in Sacreds PAK-folder. Et voilá! The wings are gone, but the shadow
    remains intact. LinK:
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/h43bcppuu7t46yr/sacred_tex_extractor.zip/file

To swap sound files you will need Sacred NL, which creates a full sound list. Maybe the maker sends it to you without
    the entire mod. Link:
    http://www.sacred-nl.necropol.sumy.ua/html/download/InstallOrder/installorder.php
After you got your hands on it, simply rename the soundfiles and put them into Sacreds PAK folder.
A full character soundset is quite large and most likely, everything is named in german. Also, it is possible, that the
soundfiles arenŽt named in a reasonable way. It could be a lot of work to get everything in a good order. Just saying.

After that you will need the russian PAK-Extractor to unzip the sound.pak. Hint: Hit Tab to make it work. Link:
    http://forum.rpgarea.ru/sitefiles/PakExtractor.rar

The user ALK has uploaded the sound.pak in various languages. It adds quite some mojo to the game. Link:
    http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/30914-sacred-underworld-voices-pak-ger-eng-rus-ita-esp/

As for the site, as you can see, the most action takes place in the Sacred 2 forums, Sacred Underworld guys have moved
on mostly to various discord servers. You also find large chunks of the Sacred Underworld community on Youtube where the
    guys run various channels.

I understand what you say,I tested your dark elf in pvp,its true that magical can t hit him,not just magic I tried my vampire too against him,but as I say for pvp exist rules, made long time ago by players,so the battle can be balanced, this game wasnt made for pvp so hard, everyone knows that,so yeah you are right in pvp his deflection is incredible, but can t compare to my vampire who farm dragon cave ,same for battle mage,is useles to have that thing if you elf die every time you go in valley of tears, dragon and so on,the other's will enjoy farming ,raiding etc...while you remain just with that pvp thing,if you understand my point.

The pvp session was simply meant to be a demonstration, so that you can see for yourself. Nothing else. But you have solved the riddle already. Some players rather like farming and visiting the hero caves, like you for example, others give the game a normal run, like me. I survive the crab queen cave if I move carefully, same for the desert cave. I never survived one of the dragon caves, I get flame broiled too often. Since you seem to play the vampire too, just as me, maybe you can tell me in a few words where is the fun to use incredible strong summons?

  7. 2 hours ago, SupremeJoker said:

why would I do that? experienced player's know that PVP is not balanced ,so your point is not available ,for pvp exist rules made by players,so the battle will be balanced

Well to see that the two pak techniques are pretty strong. And in this case you would be the only player in a pvp session. It is a matter of a few minutes to set everything up.

To find finally a common line, can we say that it is in the end the modders fantasy you roam by playing his mod? I think yes. Alright then. I have to go back to Timberton now and look for better gear.  A good day to you.

    Good day.

I get your point. The difference between the makers view and mine is possibly maybe that we play the same game in different ways. As I mentioned before I was never after crazy builds or to discover hidden game mechanics. Does not apply to me. I can waste some time in the desert or around Timberton for example. (I like it there)

We spoke mainly about the deflection techniques, sorry it was not expressed that well from my side, which grants near immunity vs ranged and magic attacks. At least in the current version, 4.0. MetaL offered balancing already, but since I played the character just for a few hours, I said it is better to listen to someone else who is longtime player. Also I am not a hardcore player, as mentioned above.

However, I got a challenge for you.

Get Lindors character pack with maxed heros here in the download section. Pick Wood Elf for example. Now, start multiplayer, PVP session, and try to kill an unarmed Dark Elf, no gear allowed, but PAK 1 and 2, level 255, active. Let me know how it went.

    Good day.
Of course it is not possible to survive boss encounters using pak 1&2, afk or not,
but it makes the game much easier. For example, I used the character, displayed in the screenshot above and you wouldnt speak of a reasonable build here, to roam the dryad forest in randomly bought white gear. Usually a place where the player has to move more carefully. I survived and it was a lot of fun.

Sorry, the screens are not very well made. I was in a hurry and edited the post several times
    over a few hours.
As you can see on the screenshots, 233% regen, caused in this case by Ethan Rys Blade, leads to an incredible drop of 200 seconds regeneration time. I double checked it with other items to make sure it is not a glitch, caused by Ethan Rys Blade... no. Its true. Now imagine additional 4 Dragon Rings + 4 Siridans Shiny Ring, plus Warriors Guardian and so on. An unstoppable fighting machine (in the current version.)

But after all the whole argument is useless. It is the player who decides how he wants to play
the game. Some want to be rampagers, invincible fighting machines, others prefer to be challenged a bit more.
If I look back now, all changes of the previous versions were reasonable made, ok, except Time
Control. :) The new Dark Elves put up a good fight, so dont mind me. Just go on.

Speaking of feedback, I do not see much of it, at least not in latin letters using parts of the
    internet. Sad.

Why is that? Well, internet of today maybe? Who knows, but there are definitely people who are
interested in modding, but leave due to low feedback or missing answers.
I can waste time and energy now and try to get people at one table again. The first try was a total fail, then I talked to zerisius, how is he doing btw, who tried to do the same thing. He failed aswell.

Last try. I will upload screenshots two times a week maybe. Each time I link the tools I am aware of. For pure motivational purpose. Those who have questions, ask and I will answer as good as I can. Those who want to start working... grab the tools ans lets rock! And those who dont want... well, its ok too. Maybe later. Regard it as an open invitation.

:( :( :( I'm so sad. I would 100% use something like that. It's very clean and polished. If you change idea please write me. Or if you wanna pass it privately to me I will surely use it. Even if for my own enjoyment

    Good day.

I understand you. Really. There are other users here I have offered a test run already, but these
were times before things became a bit more complicated all of a sudden.

The only solution is, as MetaL suggested already, a complete cut. Replacing the missing key
elements will be unpleasant, it will take a lot of time. No need to loose faith, but I
can say, under such conditions, nothing about a release date. Spring or summer next year perhaps.
To give you the possibility to visualize the whole thing, just imagine that you would rip the
southern wall out of your house.

Wait a sec. I'm sorry to interrupt you, what's that awesome HUD Skin you have there Spectral? Where can I find it?

    Good day.

I made it a while ago along with another person. We had... different opinions, maybe. Since I am using the persons work, the current state is unclear. I will not upload it. Sorry to disappoint you. But what I can do is to upload some screenshots, showing the whole thing. I was hoping anyway to make people more interested in modding the game.

  12. Hello MetaL

Thanks for the extensive answer, much appreciated.

The nearly invicible I talked about were the two pak techniques. A mobile character lures enemies into the line of fire, gives them bleeding wounds, maybe even criticals (did not tried it yet) by reflecting arrows and bolts back on them, causing quick death mostly. Reminds me a bit of unmodified Faldamar combined with the icon set. (I dont want complain too much, since it does not work well on the newly modified Dark Elves.)

I have used Lindors test characters from the download section. All are level 216, CAs at 255, max difficulty.
Added some screenshots concerning the two pak techniques. You can see the massive cooldown caused by Ethan Rys Blade +233% regen in the first screenshot and the full Cordell set with no bonus to regeneration special move in the second screenshot.

I think players become aware of gaps very quickly. As soon as there is a way to take advantage, they will do so.To detect all gaps on your own takes a while.
Why dont you ask players for help? They could do some testing, or some challenges. Example: Ten gamers undergo the same challenge and give feedback after a week or so. In the end it is your decision how to deal with it since you are the makers, but it would take some weight off your shoulders and a wide range of impressions would come in.

    4.0 update available!

    Hello OLKs team!

I would like to give a little feedback.

While I was fooling around a bit with various characters, I noticed that some are incredible strong.
Example: Dark Elf. I can pick white random gear, whatever just crosses my path, and am nearly invincible.
    No sockets needed.
Missile- and Magic Deflection are always active, even on highest level, no combo needed. Soul Catcher
restores gigantic amounts of hitpoints, so I do not even have care about life leech or health potions.

Just in case that you have playtesters, can it be that they approach the matter not in a neutral way
and try to make their favorite class as strong as possible?

However. Instead of balancing CAs/spells forward and backward all the time, what about turning
unique enemies, all those who got names, like "Sebastian", "Bandit Fighting Instructor", or "Robin the
Hooded Man", including the bounty hunts into formidable opponents, similiar to the two Vampire Wolfes that
accompany the Master Vampiress in the tavern cellar? (I survived the encounter, but it was close.)
Fights would become far more spicy and ressource intensive. To satisfy the player, grant massive XP
    bonus and Dragon-like money drops.

As a longtime Vampire player, some suggestions for the next version.

Limited hitpoints for the Vampire Wolf / only one wolf at a time allowed / can be summoned only during the night
The vampire wolf is currently nearly impossible to defeat for the game. I would suggest 50.000 hitpoints at
level 256 and 100.000 hitpoints at level 512. The summoned wolf will do its duty, but not forever. Also, IŽd
increase the basic regeneration time to 300 seconds, so that constant summoning is not possible. Damage is
well balanced. No second look is needed.
If it would be possible to summon them only during the night, combat during daylight would become more challenging.

Only four bats allowed at a time / can be summoned only during the night
Bats desperately need some taming. The game has already trouble to kill a single bat. Twelve bats turn the
player into an insurmountable force. Due to their intense speed and lots of hitpoints they stay alive for a
long time. I would suggest 15.000 hitpoints at level 256, 30.000 hitpoints at level 512. Now, the bats either die after
catching a spell, or a few blows.
If it would be possible to summon them only during the night, combat during daylight would become more challenging.

Dramatically increased cooldown for "Blood Kiss"
Blood Kiss is very strong now and a real killer during the night. Is a cooldown of two minutes to prevent spamming
    acceptable?

Dramatically increased cooldown for "Animate Dead"
Same as Blood Kiss. The player can use the spell the create up to two undead wolfes and three undead bats extra.
    Far too powerful.

Time Control could use a second look
TC is too strong in the unmodified game, but too weak in Reborn. Can you increase range a bit?

In the end the suggested changes would grant only a temporary power bonus. The player has still to fight for himself
most of the time, and has to take care of his build. Currently, summoning allies is enough to get through the whole
game easily. There are some tight spots, but not many. I guess the build itself was and is the most interesting thing
    for players.

As always, nice work! I greatly enjoyed the new Dark Elves. Keep it up!
