  1. My understanding is... air conditioning units sold in this area are built to be most efficient in the mid-90s. So most of the year, they run great and we stay nice and cool.

The downside is when the outside temp gets over 105, the outside coil can't cool itself properly. I normally keep my house around 75, but I expect when I get home tonight that it will be about 80 inside. Last summer when we hit 113, my house was in the mid-80s.

And Gogo, if you want a job that keeps you busy, come be an AC repair person in Oklahoma. A good system will last 15 years but not without a few breakdowns along the way. And especially when they're running 24/7 like right now.

I have what's called a "package unit" meaning it has heat, air and blower in one large box that sits outside. Mine happens to be a commercial unit so it's a bit more durable. I've had it 6 or 7 years with no problems. Well, I have a problem with drafts which make the house hotter or colder, but that's not the AC unit's fault. :)

  2. True story - I created this recipe myself. My girlfriend gets annoyed when it comes up that her dad said "you could sell these" after tasting them. I love them but don't make very often due to food allergy to oatmeal and tree nuts. It's a rather large recipe... it seemed easier to add more dry ingredients than to cut the amount of liquids when I made the recipe; I actually tend to double the batch because then I can use entire packages of morsels and oats.

    Mike’s Best Oatmeal Cookies

    (Makes 6 dozen)

    1 stick butter (1/2 Cup)

    1 stick margarine (1/2 Cup)

    1 Cup packed brown sugar

    1 Cup white sugar

    2 eggs

    2 Tbsp milk

    2 tsp vanilla extract

    2 Cups all-purpose flour

    1 tsp salt

    1 tsp baking powder

    1 tsp baking soda

    1 tsp ground cinnamon

    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

    2-1/2 Cups rolled oats

    1 Cup semisweet chocolate morsels

    1 Cup butterscotch morsels

    1 Cup chopped walnuts

    1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Preparing the cookie sheet: lightly butter or grease the sheet before the first batch, lightly wipe off crumbs and excess oils between batches.

    2) Soften or gently melt butter and margarine. In a large bowl, cream the butter, margarine, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in the milk and vanilla. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg, stir into the creamed mixture. Using a large mixing spoon, stir in the rolled oats, morsels and walnuts.

    3) Place 1 Tbsp balls of dough about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on cookie sheet for several minutes and then move to wire cooling rack.

I usually use two cookie sheets, one is baking while the other is cooling and being reloaded. For scooping, I use a #50 portioner (a #70 would be a proper 1/2 ounce or 1 tablespoon) along with a table knife to level it.

If you leave out the morsels and nuts, it still makes a nice cookie but it spreads out more on the pan, so give them more space.

  3. If I remember correctly, other class "attack" runes can be socketed to boost ripping claws (generally, if they have the same graphic, then they stack). I used this going the other way (from ripping claw to attack) on my gladiator builds.

    My two thoughts are:

    1) the weapon you removed had a + to an attack CA that stacked as ripping claws, or

    2) you have non-vamp +attack that stacks in human form but not in vamp form (which raises the question: are you checking when in both forms or just in one? It's really just a guess because I have no idea if non-vamp attack runes will "unstack" when in vamp form).

  4. People are always saying "Withermoths are so beautiful but they're so hard to find". Well, friends, I'm here to help you learn to spot these hidden beauties on your future trips to the North and South Highlands. With just a little patience and training, you'll be finding withermoths like a pro!

A common location for withermoths is near a bush, as the bushes often drop piles of leaves that the moths like to hide in...

The lucky and determined nature lover will sometimes find more than one in a location...

    withermoth3.jpg

More advanced withermoth seekers will learn to spot even the hardest to find ones by noting the piles of leaves they hide in...

But don't look only near bushes because sometimes the withermoth will find a leaf pile in a more open area...

Just be careful because disturbing a larger cluster of withermoths can create a swarm which can threaten the delicate nature of these lovely insects...

And always remember the first rule of being a naturalist: take only pictures and leave only footprints!

  5. They're blaming software, but who knows if someone didn't find a way to hack in!

"The crew was up all night testing and retesting to find out what happened he said and they are "pretty confident" there was some sort of glitch in a computer program that was downloaded into all five systems coordinating the fireworks at all five stations."

  6. 1) Here's the headphones I bought several months ago, they work great for Skype. And the best part is the price, only $13 to $15.

Plantronics .Audio 326 Stereo PC Headset http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001S2RCXW

    2) Knuckles and I have been Skyping the last couple days and it's nice, especially in HC were stopping to type in-game chat can sometimes be dangerous.

If anyone wants to add me on Skype, send me a PM on here or find me in-game and I'll provide my Skype ID.

  7. I just tested and the boss ghost does give experience each time you kill him, so by click all three urns first, you do lose a little experience. Of course I was too busy making sure I didn't get swarmed by the skeles so while I know I did get experience, I can't say how much it was vs the quest reward. I'll try to take better notes (or maybe a video) next time and report back.

Also, on Jar of Souls, as long as you're not over-level, you do get experience from all the skeles, so kill as many as you can in addition to getting the quest reward.

    Edit:

Matiarch -- Using a level 12 toon, adjusting for +experience gear I was wearing, the boss ghost on the Matriarch event gave 182 experience (times 3 if killed after each urn) where the event itself gave 2600 experience. But keep in mind that if you're over-level then you might not get as much or any experience from the kills.

    Edit2:

Jar of Souls -- Using a level 12 toon (and removing all +experience gear this time), I got 441 massacre bonus experience (54 killed), 916 experience from kills, and 975 experience from the event. So I got more than 1/2 the experience just from the kills/massacre. (Again, experience may vary by your level, so adjust your play accordingly.)

  8. I've suddenly realized one very real issue... people even finding your stuff in the AH. I've been trying to figure out why my sales have dropped to zero and my conclusion is:

    1) All the news about the RMAH has more people trying to sell stuff (in both the gold and money AH's). More stuff to sell means more clutter (and should also mean lower prices).

    2) The AH only shows 500 items. Filtering and sorting can help, but if your item falls outside the 500, it will never be seen. I couldn't find my own items unless I seriously filtered my results.

In the SC AH, if you filter by "buyout", you'll find a few items w/ very low min bids but uber buyouts... my theory for why the sellers did this is that when buyers toggle the buyout list, 1/2 the time, they'll be at the top of the list.

  9. For the first time, I changed the quest in the D3 menu. Not sure I did the right thing, but I now have to re-do nearly the whole of act 2 !

As mentioned above, just go back to "change quest" and you can jump back and forth from where you left off.

They nerfed the drops in last patch.

Patch 1.0.3b is supposed to fix some of that problem. It may be out by end of this week.

Edit: and they may have done something in 1.0.3a because I was getting 1-3 yellows last night when killed 2-3 DHs over several hours.

  10. 1) Friends list by account name, not by toon name (Sacred 2 and Mythos both messed up on this one)

    2) Gear mods aren't overly complicated

    3) Skills aren't overly complicated

    4) Skills aren't a permanent commitment

    5) Socketed gems aren't a permanent commitment

    6) Main questline is interesting enough that I don't feel I'm just chasing a MacGuffin

    7) Gear is (nearly) universal, all that changes it the graphic appearance based on your toon's class.

    8) Randomization that isn't overdone

    9) Public games assign players to games automatically (no digging thru lists like in Titan Quest)

    10) Quick join
