  1. It was a good run for you Cyclops. I honestly knew I would not want to commit time for more than one universe.
  2. Oh, I agree that having a fleet backed by a large fodder array of light defenses is very appealing. It is the premise of my entire design..and I rarely fleet save. I am just saying your fleet is large enough for people to actually set up join operations against it, since they can calculate regaining most of their losses in the resulting debris field.
  3. A huge fleet is going to be a target. Have a lot of fodder lasers is not a bad idea, but the larger your fleet compaired to you defensive array...the more appealing you are as a target.
  4. I am not sure I can answer that. I know I have had to contend with having some very powerful and agressive neighbors...not the least of which, one BlueWhaleMoon at 3:401:4. His colony has been there many months and has a moon base as well. I would say the reality that we can be attacked is always very real, and it helps having a diverse mix of playing styles and times to keep foes guess and to help eachother out.
  5. Thanks...those number constantly grow as well. Plus it is not my only fortified world...I also tend to have a fleet in orbit..and pretty much always have 1 Death Star and about 500-600 Cruisers stationed at a fortified world. I know I am not impervious to attack, rather I make it very costly to attack me.
  6. My placement is a mix. Galaxy is 3 where my home world is. I have an expendable raiding colony and a heavily fortified base (my homeworld is not my base). The two worlds can support each other, yet are far enough apart to make it hard to attack both at the same time. I launch raids from my fortified world and have the raiding colony set to move if I need to have mobile operations set up elsewhere. Galaxy 8 is where the majority of my colonies are. I have one fortified world and 5 supporting colonies. 3 planets are in the same system, then a few systems away another 3 planets are grouped together. So it is 2 group of 3 each. I did this to make it more difficult to hit all my colonies at once, yet they are still close enough together to support each other.
  7. Thanks again for the great replies everyone It is always great to be in a community of friend where we can have fun and help each other.
  8. Yes, those are some incredible numbers. It is a hard blow to that player and SIN in general. I do wish NiMoon and the rest of SIN good luck in rebuilding.
  9. A very nice hit. Blue Whale Moon has a base near me..has for many months. I suppose that explains why I am a bit more defensive in my development
  10. No, no one has attacked one of my fortified worlds yet. I suppose people do not think it is worthwhile to attack them.
  11. I think know why I got dubbed a turtle now... I tend to have a fair amount of defense. Here would be a defensive array on one of my more fortified worlds, minus any fleet that may be in orbit. 6000 Rocket Launchers 24400 Light Lasers 60 Heavy Laser (left over from so very long ago....) 488 Guass Cannons 976 Ion Cannons 244 Plasma Cannon 1 Small Shield 1 Large Shield 42 Anti- Ballistic Missiles I use Ion Cannons to help protect the large guns in the array. Cruisers are excellent when mixed into the large defense array..they are mostly metal..solid firepower and structure..and of course heaving a Death Star around does not hurt either
  12. I have no idea if someone can call me a Turtle per se...I tend to view myself as balanaced I have a solid infrastructure, defense, and a modest fleet. 6 planets I have at 25 metal and 23 crystal and level 17 or 18 deuterium mines 1 base I have 26 metal 24 crystal and 19 deuterium 1 base I have 28 metal 25 crystal and 20 deuterium 1 base is an expendable staging base of operations I am research level 14 weapon right now..already have 14 armor and 12 shields. I am capable of terraforming and have speeds researched to a decent level...and I even have a couple of Death Stars floating around.
  13. Thank you all very much for the warm welcome
  14. Thanks I really been meanig to install it again and go through one more time. Fall From Grace is not only my board avatar...but her personality and views..often mirror me as a person.
  15. A few of you know of me. I am not very good at talking about myself. I like to think I am decent company and can be a good friend. I am hoping to join a community where not only can we enjoy Ogame together..but other games as well..for many years to come. My game experience is pretty wide...I do play Sacred (and is how I know several people here from the board community)..I also play a lot of Guild Wars..as well as Eve-Online. My ogame stats presently. Universe 9 overall score 627224 Currently ranked 31 Fleet Rank 107 Research rank 127 I was formerly in DaG...and currently in TAO which I plan to disband.

  18. Bethesda Softworks has the license now and plans to develop it. Considering they are a well respected developer of roleplaying games, I.e. Oblivion, they will do a great job I am sure. Link to offical press release Bethesda Softworks to Develop and Publish Fallout 3 July 12, 2004 (Rockville, MD) -- Bethesda Softworks® announced today that it will develop and publish Fallout 3 -- a sequel to the highly popular Fallout role-playing game franchise. Bethesda licensed the rights to the Fallout franchise from Interplay Entertainment Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: IPLY) in a deal that awards Bethesda exclusive worldwide rights to the Fallout franchise on the PC, home consoles, handhelds, and other media, with the option to develop and publish additional sequels. “We’re extremely excited about this opportunity and what it means both for Bethesda and for Fallout fans around the world,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “Fallout is one the great RPG franchises. Millions of Fallout games have been sold worldwide, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of a Fallout 3 title. Bethesda’s proven expertise in this genre, building on our experience and the tremendous success we have enjoyed with our cutting-edge Elder Scrolls® series, will enable us to create the next chapter of Fallout that is worthy of the franchise.” Originally released in 1997, Fallout places a player in the role of a Vault-dweller, who ventures from his secluded, underground survival Vault into a post-apocalyptic world of mutants, radiation, gangs and violence. The game has been widely hailed as one of the outstanding role-playing games and video games of all time with its unique gameplay, style, and setting. Commenting on this development, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, “This is a good agreement for both companies and for gamers. Although several parties had a high level of interest in licensing Fallout, we are most impressed by Bethesda’s execution of role-playing titles. Bethesda is an ideal steward of the Fallout franchise.” Fallout 3 will be developed by Bethesda along with the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls, both under the direction of Todd Howard, executive producer of The Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® won every national and international award of note in 2002, including Game of the Year and RPG of the Year, and is one of the best-selling games ever released on Xbox. “We are overjoyed,” said Howard. “Fallout is one of my favorite games, and we plan to develop a visually stunning and original game for Fallout 3 with all the hallmarks of a great RPG: player choice, engaging story, and non-linearity.” Future announcements about the release of Fallout 3 will be made as work on the title progresses.
  19. No offical release date announced. Remember that the core is from Blizzard North..so..they pretty much stand by "it will be released when it is ready" date. There are loose..."wishful thinking" rumors circulating that maybe by this October...
  20. Yes, I really forward to this game too. As for system, specs, they have not commited to that yet...though I imagine there will be several built in options so that older machines can turn down some of the bells and whistles and have it be playable. I admire not only the game craftmanship, but the setting as well. Flagship is opening themselves up to problems from people that may be offended buy religious symbolism in the game (I.e. The Dungeons and Dragons franchise changed the original name of the monster Demons and Devils due so such pressures). It also is blending technology and the mystic occult in the same game..something very few titles have tried and even fewer pulled off successfully. Also set in a near future and, for all intents, a post apocalyptic environment. Right now the Templar and Cultist classes have been revealed, rumor has it information on a third class will be released late summer or fall. Dual Wielding Cricket bats...hehhe..just too cool..maybe give them some holy aura and litterally put the divine smack down on some demon hordes. I understand everything will be very customizable. You also can dual wield 2 melee weapons, 2 ranged weapons, or 1 of each.
