About Me
My step dad was a tech nerd and star trek fanatic. He was awesome. It's b/c of him that I know what an 8-track and a BETA tape is. Before he got us a Sega Genesis or Nintendo, he introduced me to Tunnels of Doom. Yup, a TI-99/4A game. I loved playing that w/ him.
Sometime later my best friend introduced me to FFIII(6) on SNES. We beat that one together, passing the controller for Sabin's Blitz mechanics during combat. Later we tackled the original Secret of Mana, again each controlling a character. Loved the hell out of that game.
We played so many I can't pick a favorite. Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 2 and 3, Seventh Sega, Ogre Tactics (beast of a game!). His older brother blew our minds one night with a super bowl level reveal in their living room of Final Fantasy VII. We ALL played that game together, alone, multiple files on multiple memory cards.
All this nurtured an RPG fondness that has grown for over 30 years and I am still playing games. The Iso/Asymmetric genre is new to me. Sacred 2 is quite good. It also provides much needed contrast to War Hammer: 40K and Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark which I've been immersed in for weeks now.
Don't be a stranger, although, I might be!
