  1. lol, so for a second test I made a new lvl1 character and unlocked Gold, and enemies were still level 41... the poor lvl1 Seraphim died instantly However, seems like this is the command in balance.txt: Spawn_OffsetLow = {0,0,40,70,110}, -> I changed the 40 to 0 and enemies spawn lvl1 as they should. And as I wanted, combat is now definitely tougher, but doable so, I think mission accomplished!
  2. Thanks a lot, it works! Tested on an old Dryad character (that I haven't played in ages) and could manage lvl41 enemies without much problem on lvl25, so I think this will be fine... As for my builds, I just tend to build the character as I go, I never really have a specific idea and don't like following guides or anything. And as much as I love Sacred 2, it always felt like there's tons and tons and tons of healing potions - my first character "back in the day" (when Sacred 2 and I&B first came out) was a High Elf and it also felt that way despite being fairly fragile. This is my current Seraphim, I think a fairly normal fighter build with some magic for extra Area of Effect and buffs. Completed all of Silver and now playing on Gold, only ever really had an issue on the Christmas Island (oh god, the hydra), and the demon eyes in Bloodwood were also pretty painful. I think I only died once or twice pretty early on. So I'd just like more of a challenge, so I can do a full playthrough on Gold right away without having to rush the main quest
  3. Thanks a lot! I'll try it and see how it goes (maybe I'll finally have a reason to use those hundreds of healing potions)
  4. Hello, I first found it this was possible at all when I found this thread on the wiki: I am really interested in this, as as much as I love the game, it feels too easy most of the time when starting on Silver, and I would like to start a second character directly on Gold (with all the minimum level values set to level 1, of course). However, I tried modifying the values as in that thread (and others I found), but it seems that completing the game on Silver is a hard requirement. I tried that with my current Seraphim and it would not unlock Gold no matter what, then of course it was unlocked right away after defeating the Guardians. Is there any way to bypass this requirement and make this fully work? I am on the Steam version, using the Community Patch. Would be very appreciated
  5. Hm, the weird part is that as you can see... I don't actually have Disarm (exactly because I heard it is pretty buggy, especially when it comes to bosses). I really have no idea how this happened
  6. Hello, this time a little question - I would like to start a new character directly on Gold (pureHD allows this), as Silver felt quite easy throughout the main campaign (at least as Vampiress) even though I was really rusty and making things up as I went. However, I tested this and it seems all enemies on Gold have at least level 36 or so - which means they are absolutely impossible to fight at level 1. Is there any way to modify this, so it's challenging but, you know, doable? I know Sacred 2 has a configuration file where it's possible, and I would like the same here - without having to mess with exporting, stashing items etc., just a fresh new game on Gold with enemies starting on a similar level. Thanks in advance for any help!
  7. Hello, I finally completed Underworld for the second time ever (after 15 years or so...) and found the weirdest item I have ever encountered in Sacred 1 or 2. I believe this dropped from one of the guardians of the "Book of Wisdom" (as I noticed it right afterwards, after mass collecting what they dropped). The weird thing is that it has no visible name, but even weirder is how it looks when you're in human form. (The Vampiress looks like she's just punching/slashing with a dagger when attacking with it, while that giant sword just floats) It's actually pretty good (the highest damage one-handed sword I have seen so far, this is on Gold) and it works normally, but I wonder if anyone has ever encountered this? (The only "mod" I use is pureHD)
  8. Unfortunately, nope set to windowed and after enabling ReShade, same issue.
  9. Hello! Well, first I'm so happy to see there's still an active Sacred forum (and hope this is the right subforum for this) But I have a question - I have seen videos and here even posts of people mentioning they use ReShade with Sacred 2, and it seems to me like that should be a straightforward install. However, curiously enough, I got it to work in Sacred 1 (which is how I found out about ReShade), but not 2 - every time I set up ReShade to the DirectX 9 mode for Sacred 2, the game instantly crashes with "Sacred Game Server stopped working". I have tried looking at every workaround possible, but can't find anything. Any ideas/is there a known solution to this? Not sure if this matters, but I'm playing the Steam version, and still on Windows 8.1. I've got multiple other Steam games on this very PC to work with ReShade, so I really can't work out why Sacred 2 (which should be such a simple DirectX 9 setup) does not seem to like it. Thanks in advance for any help!
