Can't get ReShade to work with Sacred 2

Hello!

Well, first I'm so happy to see there's still an active Sacred forum (and hope this is the right subforum for this)

But I have a question - I have seen videos and here even posts of people mentioning they use ReShade with Sacred 2, and it seems to me like that should be a straightforward install. However, curiously enough, I got it to work in Sacred 1 (which is how I found out about ReShade), but not 2 - every time I set up ReShade to the DirectX 9 mode for Sacred 2, the game instantly crashes with "Sacred Game Server stopped working". I have tried looking at every workaround possible, but can't find anything.

Any ideas/is there a known solution to this? Not sure if this matters, but I'm playing the Steam version, and still on Windows 8.1. I've got multiple other Steam games on this very PC to work with ReShade, so I really can't work out why Sacred 2 (which should be such a simple DirectX 9 setup) does not seem to like it.

The only thing I can suggest would be to try windowed mode. The game behaves very weirdly in fullscreen on modern systems. Other than that, no idea.

Unfortunately, nope set to windowed and after enabling ReShade, same issue.
