  1. Yes, Sacred 2 Multiplayer is a thing again in almost all of it's glory and this is how to play in the OpenNet without using any additional software: Joining Launch Sacred 2 (Gold or any version patched to Ice&Blood 2.65, Steam also supported) and go to Multiplayer > OpenNet If there is no OpenNet Button, download this file linked here, copy it into your game directory with the same folder structure and restart Sacred 2 before proceeding. Create a new account: You need to fill out all fields, but may enter whatever you like - however: please do not enter your actual cd-key or real email address, just use fake data instead as it does not matter and I dont want to know those anyway, I just can't prevent the game on your end asking for it and sending it to me ;) Enter the lobby with your credentials and select an existing character or create a new one. Join any server which matches your game version (see server title and description). Joing a non-matching server will crash your game without further notice, so go to a "vanilla" server with an unmodded game and to a "cm160hf" one with the CM Patch installed for example. Loot Ancaria Currently, there are pre-configured servers available for following configurations which are hosted together with the lobby (I.e. should be always online): "Vanilla" default game without any mods (all difficulties, free & campagin) "CM Patch 1.60hf" modded game (all difficulties, free & campagin) "Sacred2 Enhanced Edition 3.1" (all difficulties, free & campagin) Still missing on the list is Dimitrius's Addendum, but it will be added eventually. Hosting a Server First, ensure the port your game shall run at is accessible. By default, you want to make sure port 7011 is free in your firewall at least for UDP traffic. If you host it at home, you will have to make sure your internet router does allow & redirect that traffic, too. How exactly to do this depends very much on the network equippment you use, so it is not possible to go into more detail here for me in general - just ask please if you have issues with a specific setup and with sufficient information provided we might be able to help you with that. Host your server, there are multiple ways to do so: Straight-forward approach, ingame in the Lobby After hosting, you will join your new server automatically and it will keep running aslong as your own game does. Others will see it in the lobby now and will be able to join aslong as everything with the port is fine. Remember however, that most internet service providers change their customers IPv4 address every 24hours which may result in sheduled disconnects of your server. If you or your players dont like this, running the gameserver on a server in some datacenter with a static address might be preferable. Depending on the available operating system, dedicated solutions like the following two might serve that purpose for you. Dedicated on Windows: Open a commandline (Windows+R Shortcut, input "cmd" and hit enter), navigate to your sacred2 installation folder where the s2gs.exe is located. Start it in the commandline with parameters. Example: s2gs.exe -connmode=opennet -diff=silver -name="Example Server" -description="It would be kind to put a list of mods here if required" -numplayers=5 -type=free -lobby=us.sacred2.net -lobby_port=6900 -externalip=YOUR_IPV4_ADDRESS_HERE -port=7011 -lobby_name=YOUR_ACCOUNT_USERNAME -lobby_pwd=YOUR_ACCOUNT_PASSWORD For a full list of parameters, see this post which is still up-to-date and valid. Dedicated on Linux (for example a server you own with a static ip address) The parameters are the same, but since we are on Linux we will need to use wine to launch that windows binary. For that purpose, I have added a example server which is deployed via docker-compose. Just edit the .env to your liking (at least set your servers ip address) and you should be good to go. See this post for more about that. Hosting a Lobby You may also setup a complete lobby on a server yourself with it's own game server registry which you or other players could use then to play together by altering the client side "network.lobby_ip" in the "OptionsCustom.txt" to an address you host it on. This is technically a bit more involved and I suggest reading the whole discussion in this thread if you want to do that as it describes how this all currently works (my lobby server runs that way, too). A copy of the lobby files is hosted at github (yes, needs update, I know ;)) and it is based on this user's post. I know many information in my post are a bit too general and would also be easier to understand if not only in textform - they will be fleshed out a bit more, soon enough, but for now, this loose collection will have to do. Oh and btw., even while only testing this in a very small scale I still already had the pleasure to meet a few nice people on the servers and for me thats basically what this is all about, bringing the players together, so in terms of purpose this little project already succeeds Thanks to all of you who made it possible to get it this far (and maybe even further)! Old original entry post as of 10/13/2019, for reference:
  2. I'm trying to start a Lan coop campain (alone I just need it to dupe items) but after I've chosen the PG and I start the game it blocks on "testing ports" for like 10 sec and then it says "init failed" I tried steam file repair I tried unistalling and reinstalling I tried port forwarding manually my router none of these worked, it's not about the dupe, the big problem is that I was planning to play Lan with my friends later on please tell me if anyone had experienced this issue or has any solution. thanks. edit: it was a problem with my modem and firewall, solved it by manual port forwarding
  3. I play games on the local network to operate continuously on the character and to set the day-and-night status. But the auto-collection option is not active. Is there a way to enable the auto-collection option in local network too (like a mode or console comand)? Please look forward to your help in this regard.
  4. Hey Community! I decided to set up a little Multiplayer Lobby for Sacred Underworld. Actually the servers are running on my main system, so often I have to shut down over night,or when im working.. because of money.... But I ordered a little, very little pc set up with an average energy consuption about 18w. (4gb ddr3, dual core @1,65 ghz) So in future (4-5 days I think) u will see the list of servers all day, and all night, 24/7. Necessary is Radmin VPN. PM me for questions about that. Cost: Round about 30€/anno. It's worth. Hope ill see u guys online! ♥
  5. Hello Guys, This is my first Guide here, and since the first Sacred 2 Char I ever played was a Temple Guardian, I made a guide for that Class. Notice: This Guide is not Finished yet, it is under Construction, because some Concepts still need testing by me, cause I am not Familiar with the CM Patch yet Because of this, I would be glad if some guys would join me on my Journey, and go into Multiplayer with me. Ok So lets start with the Basics... The TG Can be confusing at the first glance cause he has so much synergy and supportive Stuff. But That makes him Ideal for Multiplayer. You can do almost everything with the TG, and we will use everything. With this Build your TG will get a: Bosstank that can hold bosses in Position Healer and Damage Reducer Debuffer(Removes Positive Effects from enemys, also weaken em) Party Damage Pimper With Battle Aura Hard Hitter with your Weapons as well, if you want to sacrifice tankyness. So How do we get there? Since I want to make the Guide beginner friendly, I have to delve deeper into the mechanics. I also will use many Links to the Wiki so you can inform yourself. We need These Sections Covered: Leveling Phase before Multiplayer Skills Combat Arts Equipment Preferences -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leveling Phase before Multiplayer To Level your Guardian a bit up, you can choose to go in the free mode or complete the Campaign. I Completed the Campaign on Level 50 with relative ease, silver Difficulty. So I made sure the build works. However as a beginner that does not know too much about the enemys, I would recommend you play with a friend with good damage from the start on. I will Cover this deeper later. Skills Skill are very Important to keep our offense and defense up. Also, there are some choices you NEED to do for them. You need at least one weapon lore, be it Hafted weapons or Sword weapons. Choose the one you prefer. What it Does: Weapon lores let us equip Weapons of higher level than ourselves easier, we get no Movement penalty for using them untill a certain level. To be able to wear all Weapons that can Potentially Drop we need 100 Points into this skill, so we can equip weapons of level 250. The same is True for Armor Lore, We need 100 Points in to get to a point where we can Equip every Armor that drops. Also it raises our General Armor level, that Protects us from any attacks. It lowers the regeneration Penalty we get from Heavy Armor so our Regeneration times stay low. The Weapon lore also effects our Weapon speed so we hit faster and safer with the weapon. The faster you hit the faster your Devout Guardian Combat Arts get Executed. I Chose All 3 Aspektfocusses and Lore for Lost Fusion and Source Warden. Toughness and Combat reflexes Concentration For more Buffs. That Covers all our Skills. I will explain them in a later Version. Combat Arts Because the TG is soo flexible and Versatile, espacially our Version, eat at least 1 Rune in every skill, we will need almost all of them except for Combat arm. Our Main Focus is to Buff ourselves with Protection and Hold Bosses in Place with Jolting Touch, so our Comrades can shoot the Boss without getting endangered. Jolting Touch gives us Protection while its Casting and keeps Bosses where they are standing so your beloved Highelf hits all her Meteos. Eqipment I Do not recommend any Legendarys yet, I am not that far. But you need a decent amount of Protection from your Armor. So Stack enough Armor. To Be Continued..... As I said, feel free to comment under this Post, if you want to try Multiplayer in CMPATCH with my guy. I will deepen the guide over time, I have to get more familiar with the difficulties in the CM Patch first.
  6. Greetings all, So I recently purchased Sacred Gold (on Steam) after playing it years ago to play it Multiplayer (LAN) this time. I got it all up and running and it is looking good, until I noticed there is no town npcs. The quest givers and important NPC's are standing around, but there is no Citizens or Farmers as there usually are in Single Player. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to enable them? Thanks, -Braclo
  7. So I have encountered thus far my only issue with the copy of Sacred Gold I got from GOG.com. I cant for some reason host a multiplayer session. I have everything allowed like I should (im pretty sure anyway) and when I go into the game to start a session it just kinda sits there are spins its digital wheels. I also have tried using the dedicated multiplayer sever option and that will at least start but no one can see the game. Not me on my own computer or my wife on hers. That said when she hosts it will actually let the game start and we can play. And she can also host the dedicated multiplayer server. Anyone have any ideas why it wont work on mine? Also I am totally willing to post additional info should it be required, just ask for it.
