SW mods: soo hard to choose

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Want to congratulate yu for this great site, Ive decided to register today after several readings and visits.

I know yu are probalby tired to read always the same questions about the best way to mod the CAs, but after all my readings and reflexion, I still can't decide wich one I should take, mostly cause my chars are around lvl70, so I can't tell wich ones will be better at lvl200.

want to have yur opinion just about 3 CAs:

Demonic Blow , Scything Sweep and Frenzied Rampage.

My build is Hafted Malevolent Death warior.

For DB, I was planing to mod it this way: Wounding, Frailtly, Trauma : I want this CAs to be abble to kill bosses

SS:Force, Intent, Rage

FR:Double Attack, Intent, Vampire.

Please feel free to coment and to give me clues about better choices.

I mat lvl70, and it becomes harder without any mods on these CAs!!

I realise that this thread is not in the SW section, first one first mistake! , sorry for that.

Hi and welcome :)...and not to worry about wrong sub-forum..we'll get it moved :)

You really can't go wrong with any of the mods on DB, SS or FR. For the most part you picked the same mods I usually do. DB can be a great boss killer. SS is great for crowd control and FR is good at both. My highest SW is level 130 and I'm having no probs dealing with anything in game.

I didn't see you mention anything about buffs but Grim Resilience is basically a must have for any melee SW. If you don't have it, get it, and if you have it make sure you keep it's level as high as you can without messing up regen on your attack Combat Arts

I've noticed when using Hafted (not sure if you're using 1 Handed or 2) and attack with a 2h hammer I miss quite often though if I use a 2h Axe I hit much more reliably. 1 handed hafted doesn't seem to have this issue and wondering if you have experienced the same thing.

Hopefully this will get you started and don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions :)

thanks for yur quick answer Knuckles, I'm glad to hear that my choices aren't that bad !

I use Grim and Reflctive emanation, and Augmenting Guidon who seems to me the SW's best CA.

I ev only read 1 rune of each by now (Im realy scared about regen times at high level, so the +CAs rings and amus did the job until now.

my plan is:

Grim: Fortify, Discipline, Reflex ( I choosed Toughness and Armor Lore as a Deffense Skill, so Reflex sound good to me)

Reflective Emanation: Tough (ranged mobs are easier to deal with than stun effects mobs in my opinion), Antimagic ,Riposte.

about Antimagic, Ill only go to it cause I don't realy understand what is a "root Effect" on the other mod (Unstoppable).

Maybe yu can tell me more about it?(if its the paralyzing effects of some spells, Ill go to Unstoppable I think)

And finaly, yes, Ive noticed the same thing yu said, 2 hands Hammers (my favorite weapon :)) do not hit so often than 1 hands or axes do.

I try to deal with that with blacksmith on my armor pieces of sets, with some "-x% chance for mobs to evade attack" rings or amus.

with only 2 or 3 (about 30 or 40% more chance) , it works great by now.

Unlike Knuckles I haven't gotten to the high levels...

With that stated I like antimagic because it will eventually (I think?) block magic combat arts directed at me. Root is a bad thing that can happen to you but on a tank its not that bad I imagine because you have defensive buffs/skills and pots. What root is is a effect that makes it soo you cannnot move. So no running!
