I think it's a detrimental effect. I've noticed that when you hit an opponent and you have some item modifiers that lower the enemies' statistics (for example defense or attack value -%, armor -%) that graffic effect appears, and it's always the same although the item modifiers aren't.

It could very well be the general 'detrimental effect' aura, I have seen it in lots of places, after all.

But the stun effect, as I've seen it displayed, is only the stars around the body. The halo on the head is something separate.

I think they just changed the "orange fuzz" halo to "colorful arcs" at some point.
