Some questions from a new player for Sacred 2

Recommended Posts

Hello all! Im not "new" to this game, since I finished the story 3 times (2 on bronze and one on silver) but im still noob... What I mean is that I dont do calculations on how to build super chars, nor go hunting for uniques and stuff like that, but I would like to start building really good chars to get through Niob without dying (on bonze and silver it was easy, but I know from gold on its getting much harder).

So, I know the game basics like regen time/leveling CAs mods and stuff like that, but I still have questions that I see lots of you guys talking here and I dont undestand, so here I go:

1) Right now im building a High Elf. The thing is, I like Mage Staffs (but I wont get that skill). I cant pick Shield Lore because staffs are 2 handed weapons. So, I was thinking in getting Combat reflexes. Should I do this or get a sword and shield for Shield Lore? Its because I REALLY like Mage Sataffs playing with a High Elf, and some of them have nice mods, like -xx% regen time of all CAs.

2) Ive seen that ridding your unique mount makes all CAs regen time bigger (including the one of that aspect) if you dont have Ridding Skill. But those regen times increases are very menageble in bronze and silver. I want to know if they are like that on higher difficulties or is they are steep.

3) I hear lots of you guys saying how the Orc Cave is a great place to gain levels and grind in general. I would like to know where its located. By the name, I think its n Orc Realm, but I might be wrong. Can someone please give me directions? (I.e its near X settlement, to the north).

4) The CAs I use I keep at level 1 (except buffs), so the regen time is really small. But it kinda takes a bit long to take out bosses (I dont get to dye, but I take a small portion of theyre HP per CA). So I was wondering if its best to put tunes as I increase the Focus skill and menage deal with the regen increase or just keep them at level 1 with really low regen time.

Well, those are the ones I was having trouble with... Thanks in advance everyone! I really liked this forums. You are friendly and prompt to help!

BTW, I play on a PS3 system and Im brazilian, so, sorry for any mistake I made writing this... =D

Heya,

1. AFAIC, any build goes.... just try what you like. HE has other options to protect herself outside a shield.

2. Don't take Riding... it is a waste. Since you are on PS3, I am unsure abour Regen per Hit.... Does it work? If so, it really is the best option for CA regen.

3. The Orc Cave is ok. It has 3 champs that respawn if you are quick. Make sure the HE can stand their hits.... they are known to make short work of frail characters. It is located to the north east of that Orc town in the east... I cannot seem to remember the name. Between that one, and the one near the sea.

4. For the HE, read runes to a certain limit and balance it with Focus. Find a regen time that you like, and keep it at or under that time. When it goes under, read a rune, etc.

5. Have fun!

Thanks Baristan!

Yeah RpH works on consoles, at least for physical CAs (like Im used to do with my Dryad... can use Ravaged Impact almost 3 times per second) but I never tried those on spell CAs and I dont know if they will work. Ill try that out!

Oh and I looked up the location of the cave on youtube (could have done that before asking that for you guys XD) and yeah, its where you said, between the port town and the most western settlement...

Thanks for the tips mate!

Heya,

For us, RpH requires a ranged weapon or weapon attack. It then works to regen spell like Combat Arts like Flaring Nova and Deathly Spears. Using RpH on spells to regen spells I.e. Fireball does not work.

Guess that would be the same for console.

There are more caves btw. I like the one beneath Ruka better. It has more champs, and thus more drops. The XP is about the same. It is the cave that connects Grunwald with the Orc Region. Best ran from the Orc region, because the cave is kinda long.

South Eastern swamp is also a nice place for XP, as is hunting Demon champs in the Wastelands.

All your choice :4rofl:

You can take shield and staff lores together. there are many 1 handed staff. unless you prefer the 2 handers better.

if you have taken the Delphic focus and concentraton then yuo should be using the Grand Invigoration Buff. and pump as many runes into that buff as you can. this will allow for huge HP regen and CA regen bonus. then you will find by level 50 or so you can really start pumping the Runes into your attack Combat Arts.

For some excellent reading I recomend you read this guide by Chattius. The Shield Maiden -a Valkyrie From the Land of Fire and Ice, Archer, Gladiatrix, Ice-Elf and more in a single build

Even if you don't follow the guide, there is a ton of useful information in there that will help you to build your character better.

Edit: OH! and on console I think Death Blow works with spells. So you can deal double damage when the enemy health falls below the % threshold

Thanks locolagarto (lol that means crazylizard in portuguese... probably in the same in spanish =D)

Yeah, unfortunately I only like the 2 handed ones. I think ive seen dual wielding staves builds.

Im going to read that guide ASAP. And as Barristan said, RpH does not work with the fire spells. At least I saw no difference... They work very good with my Dryad though.

lol I think I have told this story before but a few years ago when I first picked an avatar for my xbox gamer tag it was a picture of a dragon. My wife was born in Guatemala and spanish is her native language. I frequently ask her for help in naming my characters and she thought the picture looked like an orange and yellow Alligator. So she said it looked like a crazy alligator and Locolagarto was born.

True story! :4rofl:

HAHA cool!

And I just read that guide. I think im understanding the HE character a bit better now. On my previous builds I used to choose one attack aspect (fire or ice) and Grand Invigoration only. Now I realized that DA has other CAs that can help me out a whole lot... Im going to try that out soon. Thanks again! XD
