Armor Level Needed To Wear Highest Level Armour?

In order to wear the maximum level set items (I think they are 220?), would u need a good armour lore skill to actually wear them? just asking so I plan my character and decide between Delphic Arcana Focus or Armour Lore

Max. item level you can wear depends on your character level. Armor lore only increases your max. item level without penalty (CA regeneration and run speed penalties). So armor lore is not necessary to wear high level items
