I would say that it works just fine. I actually would have had no idea until I played my godspell build based around the totem (Gaia). Since I have pumped CV Lore to get totem damage up, and I have no issues killing with it... I say it works. But I haven't tested it with damage details on.

 

If you are asking if it boosts damage of a certain voodoo combat art (ie VD) then that interaction is so small you will never see any appreciable increase in the damage of VD with CV Lore... until the higher levels when the enemy HP's get high enough. Then, the actual increase is again so small, you won't really notice it.
