Sausages... first time I purchased these ever

I'm wondering... does gumbo usually arrive in decorated plates like this?

 

Or is this just a marketing thing?

I would say that it's just a a marketing thing. Emeril would serve it in a shallow bowl with a mound of rice in the center....bah! My mother always had the right idea. She would buy those 5 lb tubs of butter and clean the container after the butter was gone. That was hergumbo bowl.

BTW gogo you can keep the seacritters, make mine with sausages and chicken :dance: ...like... NOW! me hungry... :wub:

I modified my grandmother recipe but I kept her star ingredient......chunks of bologna.

I was thinking that browning the sausages then adding them at the end would keep their "friedness" in bites you can savor during the gumbo/stew.

 

True?
