Why can't I find you guys on the Sacred 2 HC servers?

we're all surrounded with so well "unkind" players on servers, or we play alone. (We=me and Tel)

Okey so lets clear. I'm playng in closed network-Hard Core.

 

What's your toon's name? 'cos I cant find svori, erling gogo, gogoblender, nothing. Not even [D.a.r.k]...only my and Tel's toon.

But since you play with erling, (and he is in Europe) we should be able to find you grrrr....

We're in Silver Servers, Closed HC there's nine of us right now in Silver servers.

 

Busy sunday as usual

 

EU servers, which is what you should be able to get to. Also, just click on the top left corner button of the screen Show All Servers:

 

 

This will give you a complete list of all servers available to you. Scroll down it slowly until you see [D.a.r.k]Matters - There is no spoon!

 

 

And Bingo...you're home!

errr...I checked the servers.

 

in your some starts with #2 or #0

 

All mine starts with #3

 

And in the beggining of the server name there is always hun or pl

 

If I search only for american servers I cant find any. :S crap!! No italian no english.

Tomi, I'm really not sure what's going on It feels like your game is selecting servers for you. Definitely post this on the SIF...maybe there's peeps there in your locale that have found a way through this. Also, it's pretty early now, and I'm sure more folks here coming on will help with a solution.

 

I've also split off this series of posts and started it's own topic so that we can get more people that can help us.

Anyway. Hope we'll work it out. Also...:

 

When I log in. (account name, pw) there is the IP: it say ee.sacred2.net

 

East-Europe? errrrrrrrrrrrr

ok this is a wild guess but I think EU is divided in east and west. the EU I have these servers:

-EN english

-FR french

-IT italian

-DE german

 

and if you have Polish and Hungarian servers only..

 

EE.sacred.net? another even wilder guess- EE=east europe?

I can't believe this. I have a feeling that who found out this had to KNOW that for example in this forum we're not from the same country (or even the same continent)

 

I dont think they screwed this up that much...

It's about in the same line of longitude. Or if I'm unlucky, the border is exactly along Hungary...

I have to do a little research but I think you should be able to change server and lobby port in options.txt file. Let me ask a few people and I'll get back to you as soon as I can

Edit: YAAY Knuckles that sounds wonderful! We should have thought of that! I'll try to find it too!

 

edit 2.: It says ee.sacred2.net but also the port is: 6850

 

It's in the options file (I guess you saw) which I dont dare to edit. (as the warnings says)...am I the only one who thinks it'd have no effects editing it? max bad effects...

K..not sure if you have Vista or XP but we're looking for a folder that contains the file options.txt

 

In XP it's located at C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2

When you find it I want you to make another file in same folder called optionscustom.txt (just use wordpad/notepad and save as a text file)

 

In optionscutom.txt write the following exactly as shown then use 'save as' and not 'save' (I had probs with it saving if I just clicked 'save').

lobby_ip = "eu.sacred.net",

lobby_name = "",

lobby_port = 6800,

playername = "Anonymous",

}

 

 

Or just make a back-up of the options.txt and change the lobby name and port exactly as it's shown. Don't worry about lobby ip or player name.

Only one problem here. I've already made a optionscustom.txt when schot helped in the camera view changing. What should I do with it? Write next to it?

Add this to the bottom of it. Just make sure you copy it exactly as I have it shown including the brackets { }

*note* Replace "Anonymous" with whatever your account name is

News: Now the IP's line is empty, and in the account name there is the eu.sacred2.net

Also you found out how to avoid typing in the username every time we log in...

 

edit: now everything is in the right place.

error 64: I couldnt join to the server (?). PLease check firewall options and connection...

yup you can either enter lobby ip or lobby server name. Both aren't needed (Least I'm pretty sure you don't need both ) If you can't log on I can go find ip address for you

Did you try starting game and logging on? (if game already running you will need to restart for changes to take effect)

 

Might want to remove account name from post. We were always told to do so in beta forum so I guess we should here. Just an extra security measure

 

Edit: I messed up tomi put eu.sacred2.net in lobby ip and leave lobby name blank. I edited my other posts to reflect correct info. Lobby name would be your account name.

Well every time I did any change I started to game again. (not the pc)

 

After I started game, when I wanted to log in I had the error 64

 

 

EDIT: wait a bit...shouldnt it be sacred2?
