To Mod or not to Mod - Dryad Gear

Recommended Posts

Thank you in adavce for any help... just a little confused with such a broad library of items to use and where to put them.

1st off dmg rings 40-40, should these be forged or worn for best result.

Damage: physical +35%

same question but do these reduce the mobs resistance to my physical output or just my overall damage. Like spell intensity rings do for magic?

whet: damage+ 25% attack value + 25%

its an obvious damage booster but would it be better to use the damage ring or just drop in a whet? Im revamping my dryad gear and trying to get the biggest damage ouput in lesser slots.

last question on niob and I can take a good lick but I noticed lately that my character gets hit pretty freaking hard by the desert men. any suggestions on a revamp in gear to lower physical damage taken?

Tough choices indeed karruptedkat. For physical +35% it would be increasing the damage. Careful with this one though as it won't help with any other elemental damage you might have. In Niob it's very common for weapons to have some element type built into the weapon as well as physical. So you might want to consider tossing the physical +35%.

Using Damage: +% and base damage rings, (40-40), is a delicate balance and it's hard to give advice on this. Sometimes "Damage: +%" is more effective than Base damage rings and vice-versa. It's a bit of trial and error to figure out but essentially there is an ideal ratio somewhere in there. What you're after is micro management. One way to figure out which you are needing more of is to buy two pieces of armor with same socket types, each with a gold socket for example. In one of them put Base damage and in another put whet. Then equip one, check your damage, then take it off, equip the other and check damage. Just be sure that the equipment you test with doesn't come with any modifiers that would increase damage. As you optimize each piece of armor and weaponry you can test with those two test items. Keep in mind of course that raising your Combat Art levels could also be very effective provided your regen times are under control.

Generally I rely heavily on my buffs to take care of the damage I am taking. If you can afford it try to raise your buffs. The Stone Guard do Physical damage which you should already have fairly good defense against. I'm guessing it's primarily the Champions that are causing you trouble? Or it could be that they are just landing a majority of their hits on you. You might consider adding "Reflect: Close combat +%" or "Chance to evade: x%".

Stone Guards are very heavy with Physical Damage. Bark for Dryads has serious resistances against Physical and Poison damage (Almost insante  )

If you're taking damage, I'd guess that your bark's level could be raised... try doing that with a Buff Boosting slot with a wep/shield combo socketed with plus all skills, then eat a ton of Bark Runes. My usual level for Bark is my own level once I reach around level 45 - 50.

Good luck, have fun

Sweet thats what I figgured and I will have to try the same gear different items forged to see what results. No doubt it was the champions. I've went farming to get some more of the same equipment aswell becuase right now I use one setup primarily to experience/shop/kill bosses. and its mostly gear w/ dot down and + skills/all combo arts. Only becuase I hate having so much gear on me at all times.

If you're referring to the Du'rach Krinar they do mostly magic damage in Niob, check your overview of last opponents next time you kill one.

Niob really makes you pay attention to the types of damage enemies use, usually you can get away with using two types of damage relics per zone though so it's not too annoying once you know what to equip.
