  1. Well, I considered this fact a developers' joke, something like sunglasses you can receive in Sacred Underworld for completing a holiday quest. I just thought that if they bothered themselves implementing a newly looking item specially for this quest, we should bother ourselves mentioning it. As for the info, I've got two questions. 1. As the ears are not unique(golden) but rare(yellow) item we can't be completely sure that bonus is always the same. But I think that helmet may be something like the bracers you get for 'The Spirit of Atherton'. It's just not concidered unique. Though I never understood why those bracers do. 2. The main trouble here is that I'm russian. Since I sincerely doubt everyone can read our *sigh* great and mighty language, I'm not sure how I can add a screenshot. If placing a screenshot and writing down a description next to it would count, then I'd definitely do it.
  2. Than you very much. That seems to be a good thing to do. Especially if you remember that russian servers are still running at 2.64. European ones must be at 2.65.2. I just hope I could create a new account with the same licence codes. Or probably it is the way to deactivate my old account. I should try it anyway. Yes, the download link in the wiki seems to be mistyped. It should be '0100' not just '100'.
  3. Interesting pics. Just wanted to say that the helmet for this seraphim's set should look like this It really looks fitting. And it definitely is a new item (I never saw such a thing before Ice&Blood). The one on the picture looks like black-coloured part of Niokaste's set.
  4. Sorry for interrupting your conversation. I just got one idea about what else could be added to wiki. Browsing the wiki I got surprised with the fact that all Christmas sets are listed properly, yet the Easter Cult quest doesn't mention the fact that your character can get himself/herself nice ears like this. How about taking pictures of all characters in easter attire? That would make a nice addition to the quest description. By the way, is idea about translating wiki still alive?
  5. What an interesting discussion is going on here! Seriously, I always enjoy searching for connections between various things in games. Looks like I can share some of my observations. Quite an obvious ones for now though... 1. There must be a connection between the chain-quest The Legend of Gronkor and the unique polearm Gronkor's Downfall. The fun fact is (if I'm not mistaken) that orcish hero Gronkor is said to be killed with elven arrow and this polearm is an arrow-shaped spear. Quite a big arrows those elves have... Gronkor's Medal goes there too. I can't imagine an orkish medal though. 2. I wonder if seraphim's set Sofia's Benevolence is named after seraphims' leader Sophia, the oldest seraphim. In some languages those names are definitely spelled the same way. 3. The ring Kybele's Tear obviosly refers to the goddess, but also to the myth of her. If you read the book about Kybele, you'd find out that it were her tears that brought life to the sadly lifeless world. 4. The reason behind Nyarlathotep's Creeping Madness is obviously H. P. Lovecraft (Nyarlathotep in wiki). By the way, I always was interested why many computer games have something to do with Lovecraft. But that's another question. 5. I wonder if Arni's Ring has something to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Probaly not. 6.Jodah's Ornament supposedly is a reference to Jodah from Magic: The Gathering franchise who was a powerful mage. He also had a magical mirror. These facts seem fitting to the bonuslist of this amulet. The funny fact here is that in russian version this amulet is named 'Амулет Йоды'( 'Yoda's Ornament') which adds to the list of Star Wars references in Sacred. 7. Amulet of the Sereish. If I'm not mistaken, there was a Sereish's set in Sacred Underworld. Well, these ones are the first to come to my mind. When I remember more I'd add description here. If you aren't tired of me yet. By the way, did you notice that Gods' names are also a reference. I remember that Kybele is a real Phrygian deity. There was something about others too, but I can't remember it now. Maybe later. EDIT Yes, I've finally found the dead thread about gods. Though I still think those facts should be added to wiki. At least to prevent newbies like me from talking about it again. I'm pretty sure that the reason behind Kybele and Lumen was really found. /EDIT
  6. Yes. That's exactly how it is. I remember myself writing about it some posts ago. Though it doesn't really matter. Russian closed net servers are almost empty anyway. It won't bother me to move to the open net. By the way, are closed net servers in the other countries still up and running? I hope so. They are invisible in russian version for some unknown reason. I tried various filters but server list is either empty or lists only russian ones. Sorry for going off topic. The actual reason behind this post is that I wanted to ask you whether or not you encountered one problem. Minimap settings (at least its size) are reset to default when you quit to the main menu. In 2.43 all settings vere reset. In 2.65.2 with community patch the scale seems to be saved, yet its size still resets every time you enter the game. That fact is definitely true to the russian version since all the people I know encountered this problem. I'm not sure about other versions though. It is proven that due to the bad localisation russian version has more bugs than all the others. Well, russian version was issued long before the european one. In fact our publishers translated a half-baked version. It still echoes sometimes.
  7. I would be happy if somebody reminded it to russian publishers... As I mentioned before, they are VERY lasy creatures. They never adapted 2.65.2 to russian version. And european version patch can't be installed. It claims to be incompatible. I wonder what changes were in 2.65.2 and if they could somehow made their way to russian version without our publishers. EDIT After searching the web for some time, I finally found the 2.65.2 patch compatible with russian version. It was released without our publishers, but I hope its content is official. Hope it would work fine. /EDIT OK. That was just a suggestion. Probably it won't hurt to make a comment about it in the patch changes list. But it's fine anyway. Thank you for explaining. It's a bit sad that I couldn't continue playing old charas without getting oddities. But I've already did such a restart when 2.34 was released. So it's not so bad. Thank you for fixing this quest for at least new charas. The only question is how to talk my open-net partners into restart. But that's my problem, not yours. That totally wasn't so before addon. So I didn't even suppose such an oddity. Thank you for working on it. Wish I could help you someway. That's quite common. Russian version has a lot of bugs with translation. That's not the only untranslated line I saw. I just don't remember what the others was. When nothing could be done with bugs I didn't bother myself with remembering them. Hope minor translation fixes can be done. Just wanted to export my closed-net characters. And I can't create a closed-net game with 2.65.1. The server doesn't accept it. That's definitely not your problem though. And MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you! I'm not sure when I should say it. GMT+5 has its issues. But better in a wrong time than never.
  8. Sorry for being such an annoying self-proclaimed beta-tester again. Just wanted to show you some things. First of all, I got a lightsaber that made me laugh. Here it is In other words its bonus list is: Regeneration Time: Malevolent Champion -xx% Chance to disregard armor +x% Aspect: Capricious Hunter +x Gruesome Inquisition Focus +x And the character who was rewarded with that item is High Elf. Am I the only one who found it ridiculous? Allmighty random number generator is allmighty! But seriously, looks like lightsabers encounter the same problem that appeared before with seraphim's shields. Maybe random bonus should be made a bit less random. And two little things about texts. Wasn't it supposed to be 'As if these few guards could stop me!'? Or is my imperfect english failing me? And one about russian version. For some reason the title of this quest ('Mawino Barimak') is in english. Just naming it 'Мавино Баримак' would fix the problem. I'm really sorry for my endless posts. Don't kill me, please... But looks like you (patch-developers) are our (players) only hope to get this game to work properly. By the way, does anyone know the way to return to 2.64 from 2.65.1 other then reinstalling? Those lasy creatures still haven't applied 2.65.1 to russian closed net servers. I suppose they never would.
  9. Beware of the long reply! Well, I understood about decision markers. Actually I supposed something like that but still wanted to note you. Especially because they appear only after installing community patch. They are hidden in original 2.65.1. And I supposed that they may unpleasantly surprise some people who suddenly see them. There is no common explanation for this rings in game, so their appearance may lead to misunderstanding. After all you can't explain this fact to every player personally, like you did to me. But there are really some issues with quests besides that. And sadly one of them is a bug of the community patch. That is the one about the 'Bandits' ('Разбойники') quest. After patch installation this quest is marked as successfully completed to all characters that never tried to take this quest. For example and map is explored only so far I hope it's clear that the character never was in the area. I tried this character before installing the patch and his quest log was normal. After patch installation this record appeared. By the way, that quest was bugged in the original 2.65.1 too but in different way. Strangely in 2.43 it was completely OK. But anyway in 2.65.1 there are 2 entries in the quest log. One called 'Разбойники' and the other one called 'Бандиты' (yes, this is exactly the word that means 'Bandits' in russian). The second one is marked failed and its text is empty. It also shows your current location as the map fragment. Like this I suppose it's the entry for the second solution of this quest (kill bandits). But why did it appear all of sudden? And the second noticed bugged quest (in both original and community-patched versions) is already mentioned 'Plentiful Harvest' ('Обильный урожай'). The trouble is that if you didn't kill the robbers this quest would be considered failed even if the trader is alive and happy. By the way this thing was also normal in 2.43 when I tried it last time. And the quest log is just strange I doubt you can understand it, but though the quest is failed its text on the right page says it was completed successfully. Actually I always completed this quest without fighting robbers. Just because I immediately decided that a small passage behind the Inquisition Temple would be much faster and safer way to lead the trader to the city. Terribly sorry for the long comment. I'm still not sure where I should report such things. P.S. Just wanted to say that if you provide me with texts to translate, I would complete it before the new year starts. I think I would be offline right after the New Year Day. So if you need this translation in January, I'd better do it now.
  10. Spent some more time finding features and bugs in community patch. Sadly, I found some bugs with quests. One of them would be reported to the bugtracker. Sorry for reporting the other one there, but I need your help to report it properly. It is about a quest that could be found on the bridge near the Blessed Rock Manor. Here It's the one where some outlaws try to intimidate you into giving them money by saying the most typical your-money-or-your-life sentences. It's called 'Robbers' in russian version. Sadly, I couldn't find it in the wiki so I don't know its proper name. The trouble is that this quest is marked finished in the quest log when the character never took it nor even entered this region. In fact it's just a new character I recently started playing with. A multiplayer one if that matters. There is also another strange thing with that chara. When I opened the world map I saw some quests marked as failed, when I never fail any quest. Quest log shows all quests as sucessfully completed. But it seems like the map doesn't want to agree. It repeated with another charas no matter whether they were created for single or multiplayer. Reported this one to the bugtracker. Sorry for reporting there, but I decided to complete this report since I started it. I'm not sure wheter or not it is connected, but the typical multiplayer quest-hint that was telling you to enter the world of Ancaria is no longer displayed in the quest log. May it be that another quest somehow got its identifier? I can't say this things matter a lot for me personally, but I really want to apply community patch to the open-net game I host for my friends. Unlike me they are still new for this game. I really don't want them to be unpleasantly surprised.
  11. I'm not sure whether or not you are still open for suggestions, but anyway... Maybe you should add a little description of what the character should do next. Something along the lines of "The easter bunny told me he has hidden something for me! Maybe I should take a look at the Temple." or "Something is wrong with Christmas. Maybe visiting that island would fix it. I should talk to the captain". That's definitely not the best way to put it. Maybe you would come up with better lines. But the point is to do some reminder. Just in case a player forgot the dialog and quest marker shows no step further. Had this idea after trying to start the Christmas Quest with different charas. The result was always the same. When I complete the pre-quest called "Christmas delayed" there is no active quest after that. There is no quest marker as well. If I haven't read wiki before trying it, I won't understand that I should talk to the captain next. At least russian text for this quest doesn't say it clear.
  12. Just wanted to thank you for all the interesting things you are doing. Tried the patch on my version. Unlike one of the previos commenters I had no problems with it. All the features I checked so far worked perfectly. The only thing that looked strange is that the Captain in Thylysium was an elf again. Wasn't he supposed to be a kobold? The only thing I don't understand so far is that whether or not russian translation is available. I would be happy to help you with translation if needed. Just tell me and it'd be finished soon. Unlike my english, my russian is quite good. I downloaded text archives and was surprised to see half the lines translated while others being in english. P.S. Sorry for my crappy english. I'm good with reading english texts but sadly not with writing. Feel free to correct me.
