  1. The lore is slowly growing, and with it a ton of opportunities to make fan art. Click picture to see full size. The Nightmare Question: What is tall, has long limbs, is a solitary hunter in the dark woods, and has 5 red eyes? Answer: Something you will run into in Unbended.
  2. The Unbended forum is having a Halloween event (until 8 November 2015) where you can compete to put your original monstrosity into the game. There will be a voting system set up after, so if you win first place by popular vote, your creation gets put into the game. You can submit up to 3 more or less fleshed out creations. http://forum.unbended.zone/threads/halloween-event-2015-create-your-own-monster.734/
  3. I wasn't updating on their site anymore but they somehow replied to my Tweet (Thanks to the #Sacred3 hashtag lol)
  4. I opened up a pole on their forums for a very important issue about the game world of Unbended. Please contribute your opinion there. This is a big question that needs addressing and processing by the community. Sacred 1 came out 10 years ago. Since then a lot of kids have turned young adult. A lot of older adults will play the game as well. Mature humor and user content is inevitable (as are adult nude mods and inappropriate animation mods). Now as the Unbended is about to go into actual development, we all, as a c community, need to answer a few important questions on what content do we want to see. So how much of mature/lewd/adult content should we expect? How much of it we can contribute? What minimal age demographic are we aiming here? Teens? What rating would we go for? Mature or lower? Will there be actual brothels this time?! Because if I hear "That oh so noble madmazel of Anthonil. A fine brothel she seams to have" one more time and not find an actual brothel in the game, I’ll burn the city to the ground... and then be very sad. The NPC random generated conversations was a very lovely mechanic, be it a tad repetitive. For those curious: en_UK version - f3 f4 m8 - npc_eliza_helf_elf_elf_topic_5_start_1.ogg
  5. As the title says, I thought I'd spend some of my Youtube focus on giving Unbended some native English love. There's been a few German previews circulating around about the game and character classes, but for those of us who do not speak German it can be hard to find other sources of content. In the video I've tried to go through as scientifically as possible and present only facts we absolutely know for certain with the information provided in both the Sacred Legends and Niche Gamer interviews. Anything otherwise is stated in the video (I believe ). Thought it'd be fun to share it here on Darkmatters because you guys were the ones to get me into the Sacred series, and I've provided shoutouts in the video to direct back to here Remember, the only barrier to entry in the video is my nasally voice! Now fire away
  6. I came to know more about Sacred 3 but after read all complains and the background of the whole project I lost my hope, so I will not ask questions that are already evident... What no one yet explained is why Sacred 3 would have the same or worse graphics than Sacred 2. Zooming Sacred 2 looks a first person RPG with insane detail and even more with the HD texture pack; while the few screens and trailers from Sacred 3 seemed more like games previous to the year that Sacred 2 were released. I don’t understand... Another big question is what’s happening to all the great ARPGs? Diablo 3 was the major disappointment of the last years, Dungeon Siege 3 was a generic pad game, and Sacred 3 is in that way, is that impossible to make a modern game without having in mind the big market of casual masses? I read some opinions in the line of: “Sacred 3 will not be a Sacred game, but could be a good generic game”, probably yes, but how many generic games are out there? It was so necessary to add another to the list? Heroic exceptions were Path of Exile and Torchlight, but PoE is online and I want to have the property of my characters and deeply hack/mod my game, I can’t enjoy a game that I don’t own. Torchlight keeps all ARPG features intact; the only issue is that it looks a bit cartoon, I enjoyed it a lot but after Sacred 2 have my graphic expectations a little high. I also checked the ex-Sacred team’s project Unbended that promises to be all that Sacred 3 should have been, but today still distant and uncertain. At this moment only Grim Dawn seems to fit the best ARPG expectations in all aspects, from de developers of Titan Quest, one of the best ARPG of the world and repeatedly mentioned in this forum. Its graphics were updated, the playability keeps all RPG features, (especially skills and stats those that today many cheerfully forgot), it has turned Sandbox like Sacred and the best is its toolset which who allows deep mods. But he is alone with Torchlight, isn’t there another that could keep the high performance RPG legacy?
