What happens to my "!"s when I post?

Hi.

 

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, so forgive me if it's in the wrong area.

 

It might seem rather trivial, but I just wanted to ask a quick question :-

 

When I type out 3 X !'s, and once I have pressed send to add my post to whatever thread, why does only 2 of my !'s appear ? It seems odd that I am only allowed to have 2, rather than 3.

 

Like I said, it's not exactly life or death. Just seems a bit odd.

It's because a lot of spammers want to use lots of punctuation in their titles. Search for topics on this forum is important to find guides and information for players, we want to have view new posts produce a page that is pleasant and informative to read.

 

Tons of question marks and Exclamation marks always comes off as being a bit too aggressive for me, though I know a lot of other forums allow it, it's not really our style here.

 

Think of FDM as a relaxed lounge kind of place.

 

 

Kind tone, polite conversation, not too much yelling... the kind of thing that won't exacerbate a hangover on a weekend morning

I guess it is just a strange habit I picked up on S.I.F. where I throw 3 X ! on to the end of a lot of posts...............no idea why ! ( sigh, just the one, lol )

heh, no worries. Forums are like restaurants I find...each with their own take on what they love to serve. And who knows... with peeps having to change all those punctuations into words... we may produce a few literary genii ^^
