  1. If you alt-tab to the desktop, the game sometimes teleports you to another location. This is very dangerous in hardcore. So far it only happened twice, both times I was moved to a relatively safe location. Still, teleporting me out of Starting Island into the wilderness:) On the other hand, I just discovered a way to explore the full 100% map:
  2. Yes, even running on default with full res/AA does to some extent. Elite make it so hot I can't even touch it for more than a second. Switching to elite for screenshots is fine, but it definitely was not a problem in earlier patches. Considering that I made this machine to have decent temperatures, and now run it with the cover open... in winter:) Thanks a bunch Ascaron...
  3. Unfortunately it turns out that the mount is leveling with you (at least on closed), so you always start at approximately the base penalty (which cannot be brought down even with 200+ Riding). Still, based on my testing, the aspect specific mounts don't give the full 50% malus to that aspect, but rather a value close to the bonus. The combat art regeneration timer (of that aspect) is therefore almost unaffected (at least it does not increase as it would with a full 50% penalty).
  4. Yes, I use Elite when I make show-off pics
  5. I just got Dreadnought after killing Carnach. Maybe it's for killing 15 bosses, not dragons? Or something like that.
  6. Nice info Azmodael So the mounts having 50% malus is not a bug... Wait, how come the aspect mounts have only ~30% malus to the aspect?
  7. As I see it, the unresponsiveness of the game does not allow the concepts of "action" and "dps". There is no dps when your char is stuck in the same place instead of moving and attacking the enemy (so you need to click multiple times...) You can see what weapons do more damage, and you can compare their mods to pick a better one, and you can even roughly estimate which is faster, but that's about it.
  8. Doubt it The thing contains around 160 frames, no way we can bring it lower than ~400KB without making it look like crap
  9. I've been trying to make an avatar of the Imp, but it turns out too big It still has a fun animation
  10. Turns out you can use Q/E for moving left/right, and X to move the camera backwards, without moving the character. I can't find a way to move it forward An easy solution is to press the middle mouse, and by pressing these buttons move towards the object. This way you can do it fast enough even for some action shots. Takes some getting used to though, and the combat arts window popping is annoying.
  11. Console commands were discovered a while ago, but there are more of them that remain unknown. If you type "sys", "mem" or "print", the game will display the respective list of commands (see below). Some of known commands are not displayed (such as "sys haircolor"). There might be more command types. Try at your own risk ~~~~~~ SYS commands (put sys in front of them, like "sys flush"): cheat (unlock) camtracksave camtrackload camtrackstartcapture (unlocks free camera mode, as described here) camtrackstopcapture flush (frees system memory by deleting no longer used info stored in it - despite that, doesn't seem to be really useful) flush_rt rebind (has something to do with rebinding textures or whatever) saveps savegroundmap exportsectormaps exportworldmap importworldmap campath <itemtype> ss <factor> (screenshot) tt (patchbaker screenshot) scs (char screenshot) sc (cubemap screenshot) smm (minimap screenshot) movie (only thing it seems to be doing is freezing the game) AI physics lightlinks [0/1] fadein (fades in after using the fadeout command- too quickly to be of any obvious use) fadeout (gradually blackens the screen) hwcursor ~~~~~~ MEM commands (put "mem" in front of them, like "mem mgr"): mgr (shows how much memory sacred's programs are using) dx checkpoint tracker dump (see memtracker.ini) ~~~~~~ PRINT commands (put "print" in front of them, like "print mountinfo"): ver settings sector dict <name> (type "print dict" for a huge full list of possible weird options) psys hero (used to display character's coordinates on the map, but doesn't work now. Ride your mount and use "print mountinfo" to get them) NPC <ref> herostats soundsystem sound obj sobj dobj dobjsai lobj quadtree vis syncseed numaients bonus achievements (displays the achievements of the current character) lua mountinfo (displays map coordinates of your mount) linebreak (types a -------- line in the console window) fpu weather
  12. I think that is called a dynamic picture or link. Larger than a thumbnail, and clicking on it sends you to a url.
  13. I didn't post the entire thing to specifically avoid breaking the forum layout I did try to make it a smaller clickable pic, but this forum apparently doesn't allow them
  14. Sacred allows you to unbind the camera from your char, and move it around in totally free mode (it looks a lot like boss camera mode). This seems to be another feature that was half-implemented and therefore scrapped. You can move it as high as you want or even dive into the ground, and zoom as close to the subject as you want at any angle you like. NPCs are not displayed if you are too far from them, so you can't abuse it to spy on enemies It also freezes the shift position, so you don't have to hold shift while taking your character's cool pose In console window type SYS CAMTRACKSTARTCAPTURE. Move the back/forward with W/S keys, rotate with middle mouse button. You can (and should) use Q/E for moving horizontally left/right, and X to move the camera horizontally backwards, without moving the character. I can't find a way to move it forward Unfortunately, your character keeps running when you move the camera by W/S, so you better park him in a house with locked doors if you don't want him to run into mobs while you're three miles away taking close-ups of a flower. Also unfortunately, there seems to be no way of resetting the camera (at least other commands don't work), so you'll have to rejoin the game to reset. An easy way to do it is to press the middle mouse, and by pressing the Q/E buttons move towards the object. This way you can do it fast enough even for some action shots. It takes some getting used to, but you can get some nice screenshots with it if you have the patience. Click on the following (big) pictures to see what can be done: Toy ship Blind Guardian
  15. If you open the console and type "PRINT ACHIEVEMENTS" it will display the achievements for the current hero (but not how you got them )
  16. Turns out the ladder doesn't work in explorer... Gee, I can see all my Jedi Seras... Turns out my current one is the fifth incarnation, sixth if we count the softcore character Some tooltips are in german, even with english filter (the deleted characters I suppose). When I try to log in, it says "Internal error - try again later". It shows the haircolors and gear... and stats... Holy crap, is there no privacy:)
  17. Almost forgot... I got Survivalist the moment I finished the main quest on Silver, as I posted here. I bet it's the one that goes with "unknown name - Finish main quest exploring less than 20% of map". My map revealed was around 19,1%.
  18. Hmm have you actually seen them as non-rare and non-unique versions? I was quite certain I've never noticed them before The horse shield is the model of Shadow Warrior's starting shield, but it doesn't seem to spawn as a regular (non high-quality) drop.
  19. A repost of the SIF thread, with additional items. There are a few item types that you don't normally encounter in the game. They seem to be available only as rare (yellow) or randomly-generated unique (gold) items. They seem to spawn only with bargaining in shops or as high quality drops from monsters (at least I've never seen them in another condition). Such as lightsabers, or the shields like these:
  20. Nice guide Does the set have bonuses other than the ice damage mitigation?
