  1. Ok, that's what I figured...but one can never be too sure =P
  2. I don't know if this is related to the CM patch or not (which I am using), but the Twisted Torment tooltip is showing a weird "tag." I didn't feel it was a serious enough issue to report as a bug, but let me know if this is reproducible or related to the CM patch...thanks. I think it's the duration, but I don't know why it's showing up so weirdly.
  3. I'm planning on starting a summon/totem dryad for LAN playing, and was wondering if Enhanced Perception and increased chance to find valuables in general work correctly when these guys get the kill instead of me dealing the final blow myself. Anyone have any confirmation? Thanks
  4. Hey Gordius, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. So...the conclusion I reached after reading your response is that always playing together is the best way to ensure that quest progression is matched perfectly. However, if someone gets ahead in the main quest, then the other player can do what they need to get caught up to the same point, and then they can progress together again. How about if the player who is behind creates the game, and the player who is further ahead joins, will they then be matched to the lower char's quest status? Once they finish this quest together, then they will be even again? As for side quests, if a player makes a game and hasn't done, say the Tutorial Blacksmith quest, and a second player who has already done the quest joins this game, they will be able to complete the quest together? It would be the first time the quest was completed for the original player and the second time for the other player. Would the other player get quest rewards again? Also, how do you teleport to your team member's position? And is there an easier way to trade items without dropping them on the ground and waiting for the reserve time to run out? Thanks!
  5. So after getting my new computer up and running, my buddy and I decided to play LAN together, since our access to the official servers is blocked (strict campus firewalls). However, we were wondering how to progress and save our quests together. I know the first thing is we have to make our new characters in the LAN screen and not the single player screen. Once we start playing though, do we always have to play together? If our quest progression becomes separated, what happens then? As a quick test, we did one quest together, and then he made a new LAN character and joined my game game again, except it said his quest progress wouldn't be saved because I was ahead of him or something. However, when I tried joining his game, the one quest I did wasn't in my journal anymore. And how about levels, do we have to stay within a certain range of each other to be able to play together?
  6. So it's been assembled, typing on it now Everything was smooth sailing up until I put the power plug in. The comp kept on getting stuck on the intro BIOS screen and kept rebooting ad infinitum, wasn't recognizing the keyboard/mouse for more than a second. Took us an hour of troubleshooting to figure out what the heck was going on. Turns out that one of the 3 sticks of RAM was defective, we tested them 1 by 1. So...now I'm only running with 4gb, will be calling Newegg on Monday so they can sort this out. I heard they are good with this kind of customer service, so I am not too worried. Did a little test run on NWN2, maxed all settings and turned all advanced graphics on, and running at a smooth 40~45, which is a miracle for that game, haha. Downloading Sacred2 from my DLGamer account now
  7. Thanks! I bought the parts on Newegg last night, so I'm hoping it will arrive by Saturday. I have two huge exams next Thursday, but I want to build it this weekend hopefully so I can get it off my mind and then focus on studying I've never built a computer before, but I have 2~3 tech savvy friends here who are willing to help me. They want me to do the work though while they watch, to make it a learning experience for me. I'll post pics when it's done, assuming all parts are functioning and I don't zap anything!
  8. Hey guys, I've been gone from the forum for a few months. Beginning of second year was busier than I thought it would be. So I never ended up buying this computer. BUT, I have spent some time over the past few days planning my own build. I will probably buy this tonight, let me know what you guys think! I will finally be able to play NWN2 and Sacred2 like they were meant to be played - MAXED! I should add that I don't plan on OC/CF, and I don't feel like waiting for the AMD HD69xx cards, so this is pretty damn good for what's out there right now.
  9. Yes, our CM-Patch is inofficial improvement and thus not available on closed net servers. With the recent v0080, all shrinkheads that exist can be found ingame. Soooo... time for a little SP head huntin' fun! With the patch! Have fun! Let us know what you find!
  10. So it wasn't just me...I was playing against him in silver with my level 40'ish HC BFG Seraphim, and one of his hits took down my Divine Protection and brought my life down to like 5%. I almost suffered a heart attack.
  11. I don't know about pre-ordering SC2 and beta keys, but this is how I got mine. You have to own a Blizzard game, then register your CD key on Blizzard's Battle.net website. Then, once you have registered a Blizzard product, you can enter your system specifications and say whether or not you want to participate in the Beta (for SC2 and for D3 when that becomes available). If you're lucky enough, you will get chosen and they will give you a download link and a Beta key to play with. As a side note, it's a good idea to register your games on Bnet, since once it's registered, you can download the digital versions of the games without needing to use the CDs. I registered WC3 + FT, D2 + LoD, which will make it more convenient to install them on future computers if I want to. The Beta was originally supposed to be closed first week of June or something I believe, and they extended it a little bit. I can't be sure, since I never installed it [school's network didn't allow it], so I have an unused key. Hope this helps. Of course there are other ways to get the keys (like pre-ordering) or buying them off people, but I believe this is the one of the few legit ways to get one.
  12. That card is pretty broken indeed...get some fast mana and nice enchantments for that badboy. That's also why I love Swords to Plowshares Oh my, just saw this card: Now that's even tougher to kill O_o
  13. Hmm, that 1-3-6 sounds right, but when I've done the quest before, it's ONLY that amount of demons, and there have never been respawning monsters. This time, even at the first stage, there was the "1" strong ass demon and then 5 or so other smaller demons. At the second stage I was overwhelmed...I'll try to do this again and take a screenshot if possible. When I was at the second stage, the "3" quest demons were virtually unbeatable, they hardly took any damage from my attacks. Edit: I guess I can't do this anymore Since I saved and exited while I was in the arena, to continue the quest, I have to go back to that little island arena, and the person that gives the quest is not on Seraphim Island, oh well.
  14. Hey guys, I don't know if this is related to the other quest issues, but when I tried to do the quest on Seraphim Island where you fight in the arena against waves of demons, I almost got my HC character slaughtered, since the number of demon spawns was way more than I remembered before. The first wave is usually 1~2 demons, right? I think I fought like 6 or 7 of them. The second wave spawned like 10~15 demons, of 3 different strengths/varieties, with the strongest ones almost impossible to kill, and they would always respawn the weaker ones. I'm thankful I was able to save and exit before I died, took me like 5 minutes of running around and healing.
  15. Congrats to your cousin! I wish I could fast forward 3 years. It's still kind of early to choose, but hopefully my summer will let me know if Neurosurgery is right for me or not. I've also been thinking a lot lately about Emergency Medicine (2 weeks of intense work shifts, then 2 weeks off --> LOTS of time to do other things) or Trauma Surgery. I've also been planning with a close friend to do Doctors Without Borders and to go around the world a few years after graduating med school, maybe after finishing residency?
  16. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it! Good luck to fixing it.
  17. One update on this issue, I did choose Expert Touch, and everything has been fine so far. However, Deathly Spears and regen/hit don't seem compatible in my experience. Battle Extension and Dedicated Blow both trigger regen/hit when I've tested them, but Deathly Spears does not.
  18. Yeah, that's two separate quests you're talking about. The first is for Tutorial: Hirelings and involves killing all the pirates in the cave, then escorting the soldiers back out. The second is finding the map, and then killing the pirate with a metal nose (?) on a cliff.
  19. Hey Czevak, I noticed something new while playing the new patch. For the Tutorial: Hirelings quest, after I go into the pirate cave and kill all the pirates, the quest log says the quest is done, and doesn't give me the chance to escort the two other soldiers back outside (I.e. they don't have a white exclamation point above their heads, so I'm forced to stay with the hireling). Has anyone else noticed this?
  20. I wish! I just had two exams, one yesterday and one today, in Neuroscience and Behavioral Sciences, so I'm pretty exhausted. Probably going to sleep extra early. Yeah, I'm a first year medical student, and the summer between M1 and M2 is the last real summer break we have. I only have 8 weeks, and I'm spending 6 of them doing a Neurosurgery internship at the Westchester Medical Center, which is the teaching hospital affiliated with my medical school.
  21. Yes, they are pretty awesome...uniques...no, not atm. I'm afraid. Sorry. But maybe in a little while. I fixed the scarabs btw. They lacked the complete set of creatureboni, except the one giving Experience. (Which must have been added in a recent patch, I think.) Look: Before: After Fix: I used some of the stats the champions have and debuffed them a little. And then I made some minor changes for funsies. (Like giving them a small attackspeed bonus...) Czevak, you never cease to amaze me Can't wait for this to be put into the next patch.
  22. Thanks for the support, guys! I already have my new monitor ready for this computer! It came today, so I'm currently using it as an external monitor for my laptop and as a monitor for my PS3. I have to mention Uncharted 2 looks absolutely GORGEOUS on this compared to the teeny 15" SD TV I was using before http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16824236075
  23. So I've got a summer hospital gig with a $2100 stipend, and I plan to use that money to get me a new computer! (To play Sacred 2 better, among other things). I even got a 1000W power supply for future 5870 crossfiring Edit: Forgot to add that sadly I won't get my stipend until the end of summer, sigh.
