  1. I'm kinda meh about the patch. Arrow Carts are a real threat now, but I can't speak much about nerfs... My ranger (suddenly my main WvW character) is still tough, although I really like that the pet does not draw aggro from any passing NPC. I never really relied on confusion with my mesmer and so it does not affect my playstyle there, but I've yet to play my guardian...
  2. My choice exactly! PvE: 3. Karka - with my mesmer these things just kill themselves. 2. Any flying ambient - mid air strikes with my ranger feels so "Robin Hood-y" 1. Dredge - if there's anything I hate more than a dredge, it's 2 dredge!
  3. Effects overload!!!! Gotta wear sunglasses while playing Well I guess I never really got all excited about this because I never really liked Baldur's Gate... I dunno why... I guess I was just too used to Sacred when I first picked it up. BG2 was OK, but I never finished it - also can't really say why. I never touched Neverwinter and Neverwinter2 was just too intense for my pc to handle back in the day. But I'm getting that strange sensation in my fingers letting me know that quite possible there are many hours awaiting playing this game ^^
  4. Congratz on Bolt! That's one great accomplishment there Lujate! I did not know there were footprints along with it - NICE! I think I should get away from WvW a bit, since it's costing me a ton of gold atm. Upgrades, upgrades, upgrades....
  5. What's up with the lack of screenies/videos with this game? Am I the only one hoping that all the secrecy will reveal a huuuuuge curve ball and give us Sacred 3 as a bigger, better, faster version of Sacred 2? Developers better be very afraid of Grim Dawn - honours which could have been given to Sacred 3 if only they listened to the community.
  6. After reading the Grim Dawn topic and seeing that they also do development with funding by the public it made me finally start a topic about Sui Generis (also Sui Generis) I can't recall when I came across this game the first time but I've been following (ashamedly without contributing any funds) every so often about the progress. Taking into account that the game is basically written by one person, it is really look decent and the physics will turn out to be amazing, I'm sure. Althought character models and movement looks a little silly at the moment, they still need to get experts involved when it gets to character movement... I also think this might turn out to be a hidden treasure that will have loads to offer for the modding community. From what I gather the game will be done by end of 2014. Interesting to know: No levels no pre defined classes Potentially limitless land mass with no loading times. Every item reacts as real world items physically Real physical reaction to weapon blows
  7. I have WXP dispersed over 3 characters so I'm not really gaining much for any useful upgrades. I would mostly like to have extra supply, but 20 points for the just 1 extra supply is just waaay to costly. I alternate between siege bunker and balista skills.
  8. I'm don't have any sets that really attract me, so 3rd, 2nd and 1st all go Human Cultural T3 in the order of Medium, Heavy and light. I just wear whatever I can afford or crafted... or whatever looks best together when levelling to 80.
  9. yes, it also helps a lot if you're collecting the pearls while capping the quaggans in BL. And of course not to miss any chickens while going for the ambient killer daily achievement Another good tip I saw practised for the first time today is when you've only got a small force holding out a tower against a large group: Build two (or more) rams in the tower lord area and spam 2!!! Had a LOT of fun like that against an ET zerg today!!!
  10. There are a few On Crit Lightning strike sigils in the guild bank...
  11. Bloodlust sigils are very pricy at the moment. Upwards of 5 gold if I'm not mistaking. I think the extra power is worth it since you can get your crit chance above 45% pretty easy with other items and consumables. 25 stacks of 10 precision would be about a 12% crit chance gain. But Knights gear would do all the work for your precision and getting crit chance over 60% takes away of other stats like toughness and health. In my experience 50% is a good number to land some decent crits. So go for extra power if you have some gold to spare and make those crits count.
  12. anyone still playing? I can't believe what I'm saying now, but... I actually miss this game I just wanna know if the community (well at least more than 50%) are still a bunch of jerks or have their attitudes changed a bit toward lesser skilled players? I miss my Amumu and regularly got compliments for my achievements, but then my other favourate Lux regularly got: "OMG you're the worst Lux EVER!!!" even though I thought I was doing some pretty useful stuff. In the end it was all a game of lowest pings, but still... I miss it! Problem with that game was it got me into a lot of trouble at home since once you commit to a match, there's no way out or just taking a break for a bit. This means that if the kids start crying or some glass broke or it's dinner time, I had to tell my wife to take care of it because I'm playing the game... ever want hell on yer rear end: Say this more than once, let alone more than twice.
  13. 3. Ranger - I lover the Great Sword on this character but pets can do the darnist things sometimes... Tied 1st: Guardian - all round great skills, good build options, strong in defence but focussed a little too much on close combat Mesmer - my new favourate. Most survivable of all the classes I've played. Although the culling fix in WvW appears to keep the true mesmer locked in targeting and I'm suddenly finding myself with a lot more enemies in my face in WvW than before the culling fix. Killing the small karka in Southsun Cove with the mesmer is a breeze... they basically kill themselves.
  14. Heh - there was one huuuuuge battle on FC BL last night. The whole SF server seemed intent on taking over our BL, but we met them well and drove them off a number of times before they finally settled for taking Cliffside before we could react properly and trebbing our garrison from there... But I was just amazed at the number of thieves popping up all around our force. Of course they were still used to their regular play style of just roaming around freely among the enemy zerg but that came to a sudden stop just about an hour into play. I think they realized what a supreme target they've become once exposed... I finally got to fight back against a number of thieves and did not fall to the ground in a flash. So the thief "nerf" is just great IMO (sorry Lujate ) EDIT: somebody caught me on their screenshot (I'm the one with the white hair)
  15. yeah the Time Warp is a low blow, in fact it's below the knees!! but they say duration is longer... I have not yet checked the duration, but it has to be 3 seconds longer to make it worth our while as an Elite Skill....
  16. Hi Raver_Tom and welcome! I'm thinking you're looking for open world RPGs? Skyrim is one of those - a great game and any Morrowind player should have this on their shelf. Two worlds 2 is another good game IMO. A few bugs but it's been a while since I played it so I don't know if there are good patches/mods out there. It's got a wonderful magic system, though. Go check out youtube for some crazy spell combinations. From an action RPG point of view you can't go wrong with Torchlight (1 or 2). You just keep gettin' stronger and stronger and fall deeper into dungeon levels. Now this is not really an open world game and you'll be loaded into instances of dungeons of 2 or 3 levels each. But loot, skills, animation, replay-ability, monsters are all out of the top drawer. You'll be addicted within 10 minutes. MMORPG - Guild Wars 2. 5 huuuuge starter zones so enough to explore at low level. The world map is really big and most of the game can be played solo if you prefer. But think of other players as intelligent NPCs and you'd welcome them with some encounters. If you don't want any mission markers (except personal story marker) this game is right up your alley. Quests are replaced by events that pop up all around you. Run and complete the event, gain xp and loot but no need to return to any quest giver. EDIT: oh, and its buy to play (no monthly subscription)
  17. 3. GS on Ranger - I love the skills and animations 2. Hammer on Guardian - so satisfying tee-ing off with button 4 1. GS on Guardian - Combo's-R-Us
  18. True - sorry I got my terms all mixed up "stun" should read "immobilized" - one of my most hated conditions to be suffering from inches from tower/keep entrance.
  19. Good point there. I just finished my favourite jumping puzzle in the Hirati Hinterlands and forgot how long those stuns can last.... a stun/cripple of 5 seconds feels like an eternity - but I guess where would mostly profit from stun/cripple durations is in WvW, since most bosses and champs appear to be immune to these conditions.
  20. 3. The Grove - it's beautiful with gfx turned up high, but this place is the quickest to explore 100% and get yer free xp and transmutation stones! 2. The Black Citadel - Always something new and astonishing to look at. This place is the hardest to explore IMO but forces you to stumble upon some truly unique artwork. 1. WvW Bay - Because it belongs to FDM (well it did for about 5 minutes before SF showed up).
  21. Not that it's a proven science or anything, but I just feel better if I try and equate to 1 +duration for every 3 +damage... I guess it's just piece of mind that I'm not loosing out one way or another. With my low level necro I focussed purely on duration and honestly found it to be worthless against +1/+2 level critters above my level. I dunno if that holds true in higher levels where default condition damage is a lot more and duration might start playing a part, but I think Lujate's reasoning is solid and you can pretty much trust both Lujate's and Kiy's opinions as the true cahoona.
  22. I voted for the save option. Although I won't mind guild buffs and they don't cost a ton of influence, there are enough buffs around from other guilds that I can leach on. And to be honest I really don't think the buffs are missed when I don't have them or such a whoo-ha when I actually do... Guild missions might be a little bit more in the future for us, but I'd like to at some stage participate in a guild mission started by another guild, just to see how difficult it really is. EDIT: Just thinking about guild missions and the merit points obtained. AFAIK the merit points are used to unlock hight tier guild missions, but what if merit points will be required for guild halls or upgrades within guild halls. Future will tell, but I think perhaps we should try and organize one guild mission sometime soon and see what reaction we get to it?
  23. Heh - I wanted to give you the update last night, but I suddenly had to log off when my son had a tantrum... Bad news (for both of us either way) - I don't have the focus in my bank and have a suspicion that it might be one of the (many) items I've salvaged by accident.
