So my intent was to spend the long weekend gaming - specifically playin' BGI.... Nope While playing, my pc would suddenly reset. I thought that BG might not be compliant with XP and started playing around a bit with Nvidia settings and desktop resolution. No change. The exe eventually became corrupt and I had to reinstall BG. I copied my saves and... same thing. Now I'm thinking "perhaps I can tweak my tweaked BIOS settings a bit"... no go. It seemed as though the game was crashing while loading a specific sound file (was not the case), so I defragged the hard drives, which gave me some time to catch up on some reading... and reading... and reading... No positive result after defragging, so I thought the only option now is to reinstall windows and perhaps try windows 2000 while I'm at it. This is where the real fun started. When booting from the CD the pc would be stable for a while and then crash at random stages of formatting. First time ever I've encountered such errors. So I tried installing XP - same thing. Just before giving up and thinking my hard drive is now a paper weight, I checked the CPU fan and radiator-thingy - It was packed with dust and I thought that the pc is overheating (my motherboard can not monitor the temp of the CPU..). One vacuum cleaning exercise later the pc is back to normal ! If you've bothered reading this far and the sollution was not obvious, please make a mental note - it might just come in handy one day.

So my BGII game came to a grinding halt last night /oooo I spent some time yesterday browsing for tips on the game and found this mod which everybody made this big whoooha about and I thought I'll give it a bash. I made no backups (even though it's a Beta3 release)... I just installed and knew if something goes wrong I'll most likely loose my game. Although I had my fingers crossed... I lost the game. /cry After some serious cursing and one spilled cup-o-coffee, I realized that this might the opportune time to install BGI and start playing from the beginning. I'm actually glad I did, because while playing BGII I started to realize that BG is more than just levelling and boldly running into the face of danger. You have to spend a lot of time to really enjoy the game. I again appologize to Cygnus and Katran for giving this game a bad report initially, but thank them both for their input which made me give BG another go ! /woot

Just realized last night that someone else's grated cheese always taste better ! .. especially if you're not supposed to eat the grated chees before dinner is served !

I'm just an idiot ! So I finished RoL and had some really good battles. I'm just sad I could not play it with all the great graphix... ahh well, at least I enjoyed it ! So next on the list was Prey... and that lasted, oh, about 15 minutes of graphix tampering when I realized that I'd rather wait for a new pc than spoil the game on 640X480.... Moving down the list was Titan Quest, when my eye cought the Baldurs Gate box. I read the whole manual, which basically gave me time to listen to practicall all my mp3s I take back all my nasty comments about this game. I appologise to Cygnus and Katran for giving the game a bad report. I started a sorcerer and it took me rather a long time to set up my character (ALL THOSE SPELLS !). I played the tutorial and I guess I should have done that the 1st time 'round, rather than try and 'wing it' as I normally play games /blush I guess I'm used to 'not dying and never saving', but this is not the case with BGII... I died very early on with a blast from my own magic... /blush and I've died a couple of time since. The quicksave button has become my best friend and I'm sure we're gonna be good comrades during the course of this game. But the game is actually very nice and Titan Quest will just have to wait a while...

Some nice ones I found while anti-working.... Lightsaber It's OK, but bit big and no other animations... Drop Nice, but I'm a bit inaccurate with it... think the point is too sharp for me /blush Starfighter Nice and small. Practical. Abiss Good looking ! X-Wing 'nuff said Migical Grass Very original, but but big Ninja /ninja This is a very nice one !

The good things about 'revitalized' old posts is that I get to see games like these ! This looks to be a game right up my ally ! ... I've seen the intro somewhere - I remember the goofy expressions Well, time to complain about pc again...

Good stuff Schot ! I'm always on the lookout for new cursors ... 'been using Goku for some time now, but sadly the poor fella was not animated... I like the 'Gears' theme of as part of the original installation, but here are some nice ones I found : Space Steel The Anibus Stone Strange to work with a non-pointy cursor... Terranove Dragon's Jewel Currently using this one - very nice... /thumbsup
