  1. Your firewall settings: So this was a selfmade problem? As Wolfie said: "When it's done". There is no major issue in V0100, most changes to V0110 are cosmetic. And a lot of translation to do. I cannot follow you, I don't know what you are trying to say. I need a description about the problem and a savegame to try and fix things. No more, no less. Best place for this would be the bugtracker: http://www.frankrentmeister.info/mantisbt It's free for everyone, so just sign in and open a ticket there. The problem with the easter egg is reported and fixed since V0102, so with the next release it's gone. CU Marcus
  2. The cm-patch doesn't alter any of the binaries, neither executables nor dlls. You don't need to change any of your settings. But in fact you've got the gameserver listed twice, so please delete all the rules regarding sacred2 - the game will reinstall them properly, with or without the cm-patch. The patched game cannot be used in closednet. In opennet, make sure that everybody uses the same patched version. Otherwise some players won't be able to join or will thrown out of the game. And grumby: Red letters only make me ignore them. So does sarcasm. CU Marcus
  3. No, Wylmieni will appear if it's time to do so (you have to do something before...). CU Marcus
  4. So you mean your questbook forgot about successfully accomplished quests? Have you played the char without the cm-patch installed? CU Marcus
  5. Should be: "E:\Deep Silver\system\sacred2.exe" -log=1 I don't get the meaning... Inside the log file you can find warnings and errors. There is no line like "Accepted Quest Faust" or something like that. CU Marcus
  6. The one from the beginning of the dark rituals quest. It's a dangerclass 9 boss. I've just seen that the quest is shown als level 1. I'll change it to level 9 and add some reward. CU Marcus
  7. Well, I could take a wolf and make him behave like a dog Furthermore, I won't describe a wolf as an unpleasant npc like a rat. Remember in which town I'm living... But first of that I've to figure out the creature ids form the wolves or foxes or whatever. CU Marcus
  8. Try a port scan: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scan/ 1) enter 7011 behind "Scan this list of port numbers" 2) don't hit "Scan" now 3) start sacred2 4) switch to windowed mode and lowest resolution 5) make sure you can see and reach both windows 6) start a lan game, not opennet ! 7) as soon as the game runs switch to your browser and hit scan If you get "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is responding on port 7011 (talon-disc)." your router is configured correctly. If you get "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't responding on port 7011 (talon-disc)." your forwarding rules need a review. Info: german c't security advice: http://www.heise.de/security/dienste/Port-Scans-475179.html CU Marcus
  9. The missing egg just didn't drop as soon as you reach the bunny, that was all the problem - in fact, only one number in the quest description. So this is not a real problem, this quest just doesn't continue. No side effect. But playing a cm-patch char without the cm-patch can make it go crazy. As soon as you load the char with an unpatched version the game doesn't now anything about the new quests and items, and old (fixed) errors occur again. When saved, the original game won't save anything it doesn't know about. This goes for quests, items etc., and also the common chest. Because of that every time the original developers released a patch they counted the version number upwards, so any attempt to load a newer savegame into an older game version was impossible (invalid savegame). We can't do so, the version number is coded within the binary. So my only advice could be: - Don't use a cm-char without the cm-patch. - Save and achive your savegames often, especially before (!) installing or removing a patch. CU Marcus
  10. Nothing is impossible... By now I've found cats, dogs, rats, sheep, chicken... As I don't want too big animals like a cow or a unpleasant one like a rat to represent any of us I decided to go for cats (devs), dogs (stories), bunnies (testers) and chicken (translators). But this is editable as far as the animal of your wish is present in the game. I don't remember to meet any fox on the way through ancaria, but if I find one you'll get it One of the testers from MantisBT. CU Marcus
  11. It might sound weird... please turn your firewall on! We had several issues without it, so simply turn the windows firewall on and delete all the rules for sacred2. The game will take care of it. CU Marcus
  12. Nevertheless... try it. Turn it on, remove all sacred2-related rules (they will be created again) and start the game. CU Marcus
  13. That was not a big deal and surely nothing to bother me, don't worry. As I'm continously working on the global.res I've got the originals and the modified versions at hand. CU Marcus
  14. You opened your firewall on your pc correctly to give s2gs.exe (Sacred2 Gameserver) access to port 7011 (or "act as server") ? CU Marcus
  15. Try this: http://www.frankrentmeister.info/fengoffice/index.php?c=files&a=file_details&id=212 CU Marcus
  16. Have you worket though http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/default.htm ? At the end this has to look like Application = Sacred2 From = 7011 To = 7011 Protocol = Both IP-Address = 192.168.1.x Enable = yes With x = your pc's network address. This is given to your pc by the router and can be found with Start -> Settings -> Network -> double-click your lan -> second start -> run -> "cmd" and then enter "ipconfig" Yeah, and this zoo is growing so I placed a zookeeper CU Marcus
  17. Depends on your router. There is no standard for this, but the link I posted before may help you. What you have to do is "tell your router, that everything that comes from the internet on port 7011 has do be forwarded to your pc, also to port 7011". BTW: Have you ever spent a little time running around an discovering things on the multiplayer island? CU Marcus
  18. Routers usually block everything they do not know about, so for sacred2 opennet you have to create a rule. Sacred2 calles the closednet and opennet lobby on port 6800. This port number is irrelevant for your router. Only the lobbyserver has to listen to port 6800. If you want to join a closednet or opennet game your pc is a client. As a client he doesn't need port 7011 to be redirected by the router. Only if you want to host a game your gameserver, running on your pc, has to listen for calling players on port 7011. To do so needs to get eveything coming from the internet and ringing on your router at port 7011. Otherwise nobody would be able to join. That's why you have to create a port forwarding rule for port 7011 on your router. CU Marcus
  19. Differ between several names: Account name and password: With this you log in into the lobby. Player name: Your alias that's shown in the lobby (I guess most players select account name = player name) You can save these three values inside the optionscustom.txt. From options.txt the password will be deleted! Server name and password: The hoster sets this, the guests can find it and log in. Server description: Tooltip, soyou can find your server more easily. All of the above (except player name of course) has to be given to a dedicated server to make it run properly. It will login with the given data and create a standalone server. Toon name: The char you're playing. It doesn't matter if you delete the files with your explorer or ingame. If you've got 20 heroes (pairs of *.sacred2save and *.sacred2stats) in your savegame folder you should be able to use each of them in a OpenNet or Coop game. If you're not sure, create a subfolder inside your savegame folder and move all the files into this. Then you can pickup one toon at a time: move it back from the subfolder into the savegame folder. Remember: One savegame is a pair of files: one hero:).sacred2save and one hero:).sacred2stats. The private chest is within these files. Thee common chest is chest.sacred2chest. As there are lots of devices there is no single how-to-do for this. Maybe you find some hints here: http://portforward.com/routers.htm CU Marcus
  20. As far as I know the port has to be 7011. You can select a different one, but it won't work. CU Marcus
  21. Try the attached file. Unpack it and copy the cmd-file into your sacred2 system subfolder. Edit it and fill in your data (lines with "set..."). The descriptions (lines with "rem...") should help you. Double click the cmd-file to start the server. I remember there should be a tool to start such dedicated servers from a nice application window. I'm going to search for that and post you a link as soon as I've found it.
