  1. You probably had a piece of equipment with a modifier that boosted the ca level over it's rune value. That's the only thing I can think of right now
  2. Nah... I got lazy with the shopping and slapped a +6 instead of +7 in his silver belt socket
  3. Actually, that is + 199 all skills I had to reduce the quality of the video, unfortunately... Otherwise it would take ages to load and view. There are no uber xp per kill, because the build was designed with a single intent - to achieve physical immunity and relative immortality asap. I did use +xp per kill till 125, but then I switched to + all skills gear to push the levels of the skills even further.
  4. The damage from astute is a bit low at present - mainly because I've been working on becoming immortal quickly. I'm halfway towards mastering Combat discipline, and I'm nowhere near mastering ancient magic. The damage from Raving is over 7k, clustering is over 3.5k (but since it's physical, it gets lowered drastically) and levin is about 3.5-4k spammable at 0.7s regen time. It's still enough to kill a big group in 2-3 casts at most though, so it's still relatively fast kill speed. However, hunting in orc/desrt/elf/human lands is free killing, so it's not much of a bother
  5. Gogo, you should be aware that the build you uploaded is the level 88 "gogoblender blazing" girl and not the secret agent You did well with the skill selection and leveling her up though. Nice char anyway
  6. Well, maybe you should This build is based entirely on becoming nigh invulnerable as soon as possible. The gruesome aspect is there, mutilation is there, frenetic fervor is there... In general, he can do some boss hunting as well, but I was more interested in seeing how well he can perform out in the open. Besides, as soon as he improves these values even more, he can do practically anything without any worries.
  7. Um, no William Orbit - Barber's Adagio for Strings It's a little old, but I always enjoyed that song. It's sooo vibrant!
  8. Gogo made a small request yesterday - he wanted to see how the scaredy-cat inquisitor's immortality is coming up and is it really working. For that reason I decided to make a small video of him "hunting" in different areas. Well, he's not really hunting, because the enemies are pretty much slaughtering themselves due to his reflect and as you will see from the vid, the damage the inquisitor takes is pretty much negligible. I decided to leave out elven and human lands. It is very much obvious that he'll do perfectly there due to the low-hp/low-damage enemies, even in niob. In the first part of the video you will see the build, the buff suits, the items, the resistances, and the immunities. I'm sorry if the numbers aren't very clear - I was way too busy trying to keep the clip size low... The first try took like 600 megs, which is way too much. In the end, I got it down to 200, which is still a bother, though... The second part, in the orc lands, the damage he is taking is pitiful - less than 100, and less than 50 in some occasions. The third part, the desert - it took me a while to find a big green scorpion, lol You will notice the damage - over 350 without proper relics (I put the magic ones on purpose) and under 200 with poison relics. Nice scorpion... you're not that dangerous now, are you? You will also see the kitties roaring and scratching to him to no avail - in the end damaging themselves rather than him. The final part is the entrance to the blood forest - one of my favorite places. There usually is a very big mob waiting for you, which is well worth the xp and is a great place to score a high-xp mass kill. As you will notice, the eyes are still very dangerous - especially since life leech can't be mitigated. You will see one of the eyes leeching off 25% of his HP in a single hit. OUCH! Here's the video (click on it to see it in youtube, as usual):
  9. This is why I used the Clustering - Raving - Levin combo. Against low-hp monsters, that combo works perfectly up until level 100 or so. Around level 105, it takes 2 of those, and from 125 on, it takes more. Granted, I was way too preoccupied with my immortality rather than boosting the damage, but still, the kill speed isn't that bad. Keeping in mind that a combo takes like 3 seconds to execute, a mob would be dead in 15 seconds if you need to slap like 3 of those combos. I also kept levin array under 1s regen time to quickly finish off any champions.
  10. In any case, I split the build into 2 options for better clarification. However, your note was very valid - a skill setup like this can be easily misleading to a new player or a person who doesn't read through the entire thing
  11. I did. If you read the descriptions, you will find out that I added Ancient magic IF you swap Constitution for it, in the constitution description However, you have a point, this might be misleading. I will remove one of those or make a better clarification.
  12. Well, well, welcome back If you don't catch the folks online, try installing the CM patch and playing some open net games. Some of the fervent Sacred 2 players switched to CM because of the extra content and numerous fixes it provides.
  13. @gogo All done, mate @claudius Actually, I never got around to using this CA much... Since I did the "stop -XXXXX- focus at 31 points" for both foci, I never really had much mod points to get to pillory, and by the time I had those, he was already pushing up the damage mitigation up the board, so this is why I modded callous execution in the end. Not that I got around to using it... but if I get boss-hunting sick, I just might. All it takes is a LL% weapon and lots of enemy chance to evade stuff. On the AM versus Constitution - that's exactly what I had in mind. For starters, when you're almost immune, it doesn't matter whether you have 5000 HP or 15 000. Second, I was really worried that enemies would get way too tough eventually. That's nothing a few combos won't kill, but still, I'd like to kill fast My weapon choice was entirely based on the top 10 uniques list I made. I was constantly using dual officers' sabers, from level 18 on. All that changed was the socketed items into those sabers. In general, I really wanted to try dual tinwora's and I just might, but I can't seem to find any, and besides, I've been doing an accelerated test till level 125 (10x XP gain, then I switched to 1x), because I simply wanted to see if that build works properly and on achieving immunity asap. Actually, the accelerated test is pretty much the same as the normal killing, because it has you grind the same area for at least 20-30 runs, and if you don't die in those 30 runs, you never will even if you make 100. In the end, my conclusion is that a person can easily hold out on that immunity till level 140. Becoming immune to physical damage and mitigating almost 70% of the rest is a little "taxing" on the damage and leads to a slower kill speed - that can be seen in the video that gogo asked for. I'm compressing the 6 parts of into 1 as we speak... so to say
  14. In my opinion, there are several options: - You should check the enemy status and levels. If the enemy circle is green, light green or white, you may have outleveled the area you are in. Every small area has their max level. However, seeing you're only 24, things should be relatively ok for you still. - You should check the killing speed. If you started killing the enemies more slowly, this also impacts the kill time. If that is so, consider increasing your damage through reading runes (but keep an eye in your regeneration times, don't bump it over 5 seconds) or making a buff suit (set of items with socketed Incandescent Skin buff runes in it). - You should check the enemy resistances. If you use ancestral fireball/incendiary shower/blazing tempest against fire resistant enemies, they do a lot less damage. A few other things come to mind, but these 3 are the ones you should check first
  15. Sure thing, gogo! Just please remove the (test finished) and I will merge the build into one cohesive post. As for the vid, I'll see what I can do about it tonight
  16. In general, you can improve the xp and drop gain by editing the balance.txt file in the server folder, but that only applies to single player and LAN games. In closed net, we're stuck with the good old official values. Still, there are ways to circumvent that problem. Playing with extra experience per kill +% and chance to find valuables +% as gear and socketables will easily see the levels fly by at an impressive speed Even 20% more xp per kill is easily noticeable, just like 20% more chance to find valuables is. The game gives a lot of options, don't be afraid to use them
  17. Wolfie, I was by no means trying to disrespect you or something about the slow leveling... I was simply trying to give a different perspective, since dazedconfused is new to the game. It is always good to have an idea what other people have done when starting a game, so that you can set yourself a standard. Please don't feel the need to compete about levels In general, it is good enough to gain a level in 3.5 hours at that stage. Elwin, close combat reflect is what makes the HE shine. This is actually the thing that makes the HE so good. Rather than avoiding taking damage, the HE actually should WORK on taking damage, but receiving none of it
  18. Elwin, the HE can do it if you manage to get her reflect high enough. With ISkin modded for revenge and a bunch of + reflect: close combat stuff (shopped rare weapon, shield, torso armor, unique socketables) you should be able to reflect at least 70% of the attacks of the nameless guardians, while you run and cast. I didn't say it is easy - in FA, it took me 40 minutes to bring them all down, and that's keeping in mind I had NO REFLECT at all - I was a newbie that time P.S> Oh, yes - and I took the battle in the corridors - I didn't want the heart to keep on restoring their energy shield to full power all the time. P.S.S> I just ran the level 78 HE I have (almost the same build as my level 75) against the plat guardians. It did take a little longer, but they went down and didn't bother her greatly.
  19. I understand. Well, in my opinion, playing open or online is better, but to each one his own Besides, the closed net servers are a bit empty these days... Almost feels like playing SP... This is why I installed the CM patch to try it out.
  20. I've finished the testing of the scaredy-cat build and I am very, very pleased I needed a char to test out the CM patch, so I decided that this one is just perfect. I even changed the build a bit, to make him easier to kill by swapping constitution (!) for ancient magic. (read first post for gameplay info) I may try to get him to 140 and see what happens there, but we'll see. I'd say the values that I achieved by level 125 speak well enough about the viability of the build... So there may be another guide incoming...
  21. With respect, for me, 7 days game time is really slow. I usually get from 1 to 100 in 30 game hours at most and with the utility bosskiller, I entered niobium on level 140 in less than 48 hours of game time - and she's almost 165 in 3 days 21 hours... Granted, I usually play through the game with lots of +XP per kill, continuously grind bosses or quests and do few quests other than the most lucrative ones but... 7 days is way too much in my opinion. Besides, by level 60 a char should already be in gold and by level 100 he/she should already be grinding platinum. Enemies with green circles give so little XP that it is a waste of time in my opinion. Mob killers and boss grinders usually gain levels the fastest, this is why I said that the utility TG (unless you make a utility Source Warden build) is one of the slowest levelers. If I recall correctly, Slevin made 1-100 in less than 10 hours with an inquisitor, and Chrona made that much in 20. I surmise that a few more chars can do just as well (Dryad, HE, DM, Seraphim), but the Devout Utility TG (the safest way to make a utility char) is by no means amongst them.
  22. Concerning the levels of the shopping toons - I personally play with only 2 main shoppers - level 75 and level 140. My other shoppers simply have a build in which I managed to squeeze in a few utility skills, one of which is bargaining. A level 75 HE shopper can happily kill the platinum guardians and this way you can easily get a niob shopper - mine was made back in 2.43 S2FA, so it should work for you too. I noticed you play xbox, and if I recall correctly, the blacksmith skill is bugged there, which is a serious problem. If that is still so, I would make my shoppers level 60, 100 and 140. This way by the end of a difficulty, you will be able to outfit your toon with the next difficulty items/socketables, which is really nice. As for which toons are easier to level up that far... In my opinion, the Pyro HE does best as a level 75 platinum or niobium shopper, because she can kill the nameless guardians (final boss) with relative ease. The Seraphim does best as level 140 niob shopper and level 100 plat shopper, because she's very durable from level 75 on thanks to her damage mitigation capabilities - she can use toughness + Celestial/Niokaste set shoulders + Celestial set torso + Endijian's Wings + Glacial Defender shield, which easily amounts to at least 60% damage mitigation at level 75. The Temple Guardian does great at any level, but he is REALLY slow leveler. The Inquisitor needs some time to make him shine, so an Inquisitor can become a good 75, 100 or 140 shopper if you go for big damage mitigation. If you play him as pure damage dealer, he can make a good low level shopper as well.
  23. I believe dazedconfused's char is completely salvageable. The game offers so many options, that even a completely broken build can get to 200 by using the correct "strings". As I recall, you decided to play with chance to evade. In this case, I would simply start hunting for set items and gear that improves the Inquisitor's evade % - the more, the better (and of course, shop for similar gear/socketables too). I would also stay away from bosses and hunt in areas with lots of normal/elite mobs for easy mass killing and quick XP gain. Also, keep an eye on the enemy's chance to hit your char in the skills screen and use buff suits (check the guides section if you don't know what this is) to enjoy low regeneration times.
  24. For starters, Inquisitors, just like Temple Guardians cannot use shields If they could, it would have been way too uber. Toughness is a skill that can easily mislead a player. Even at mastery, it doesn't give all that much damage mitigation, but when you combine it with some gear, you may enjoy some outstanding successes. You have bargaining, which means you can shop decent gear. Damage mitigation mods show up on torso and shoulder gear for all characters after level 75 like a normal modifier, a modifier unlocked by armor lore mastery, or both. When you combine 22% damage mitigation from toughness with, say, 20% damage mitigation from armor (torso + shoulders - note that 20% is nothing at higher levels) and say, 20% from the Purifying Chastisement buff (modded for Inure, but you don't have means to mod it with this build), that's almost 2/3 of the damage nullified. But that is not all. The inquisitor has additional physical damage mitigation that shows up on 2 set belts and 1 set helmet. This can add up to at least 20% physical damage mitigation at medium level (for me, medium level is 75-100) and voila - you can live happily with 80% physical damage mitigation, 60% fire/ice/magic/poison damage mitigation around level 75-78 (provided you have armor lore + toughness masteries, you have decent level chastisement buff modded for Inure and done plenty of shopping). That's theoretical, of course, because bargaining + toughness + armor lore masteries by level 75 will leave your char with poor offense, but still, it shows how quickly the inquisitor can achieve relative immortality. I can say this for a fact, because I'm running a "scaredy-cat" Inquisitor build and the preliminary testing has produced some truly startling results So, regarding your question about the skill masteries. For me, astute lore + focus + constitution are the best 3 level 75 masteries for the Inquisitor. This gives him plenty of offense and lots of HP to compensate for the lack of defense. Bargaining should be the 4th mastery, by level 78-80 to allow for shopping for decent rare items.
  25. What's good about Sacred is that every build works So you can be sure your build will work out as well, as long as you don't overexert your character and refrain from make him do things that are out of his reach. As a last skill, I would add Constitution. The extra amount of hit points is very important and is a simple, but significant step towards survival. The combat reflexes skill isn't bad (my personal favorite is toughness for damage mitigation), but since you picked it, you will need to use it in conjunction with similar gear mods for better effect - there are a number of items that may boost the chance to evade further, but you will need to shop (rares) or hunt for them (set/unique items). Since you picked astute lore and focus, I would suggest to keep the melee fights to a minimum. You will notice that your chance to hit will slowly decline and you will be forced to switch to 100% casting soon.
