  1. Hiya Guys, Just wanted to drop a quick note and say the site looks wicked (lol). Keep up the good work, you all are ossum putting in so much hard work. kiy
  2. Thanks Gogo... Its my guide from may 20th re-written Posted 20 May 2011 - 09:59 PM Hiya Shane, Have you gotten Sacred 2 to work on you new lappy? I have an Alienware m15x i7 laptop, and have FINALLY after months of tweaking gotten Sacred 2 to play on it. Here are what I have determined made it worked for me. Of course, sadly I have to say "this is what worked for me, it may not work for anyone else", just keep tweaking at it and as frustrating as it is eventually you will get it. 1. Delete the Nvidia Driver in Device manager (simply updating it didn't work for me I had to do a clean install of it) 2. Download and install the most recent Driver DIRECTLY from the Nvidia website, DO NOT install Dell's driver (Dell now owns Alienware in case you didn't kno). Nvidia has fixed some issues causing incompatibility with Sacred 2. But the Drivers available from Dell are several months behind and do not include these fixes. After many many hours on the phone with Dell Tech Support because I couldn't game on my gaming laptop... NVM long story but.... as a result Dell working on updated drivers with Nvidia expected release late June 2011. 3. Download and install the most recent Community Patch from Dark Matters if you can... you will need Ice & Blood version 2.51 (this also made the game run smoother with less crashing to desktop) 4. turn off PhysX and SLI both on your lappy AND PhysX in the graphics menu in game. 5. Run game in Windowed mode (yea it seems to run smoother idn why) 6. I Set graphics to medium, but I have more power... set to minimum and then turn up in small increments till you get the balance you like. turn off anti-aliasing, weather, v-sync 7. VERY VERY IMPORTANT.... on my laptop when Stealth Mode is turned on it is actually OFF and I am not getting all the power my lappy is capable of... and when it says it is OFF it is in fact turned ON... This is a known issue with these laptops and is being discontinued from the design. If you have Stealth Mode... MAKE SURE WHEN IT FLASHES ON THE SCREEN THAT IT SAYS IT IS OFF. Good luck, hope my experience helped some. *hugs* Kiy
  3. I run Sacred 2 on Win7 for both my Laptop and my Desktop. My laptop runs it beautifully and I can play non-stop for hours on end. Not quite so lucky with my desktop but that's only cuz I have quad-core gpu's and Sacred 2 only recognizes and utilizes one core. Just keep tweaking it, persistence will pay off. Kiy
  4. This might be too late for you, but maybe it will help someone else. I had this issue on my Win7 PC. I finally discovered that if after installing I Alt Tabbed out the SecureRom screen was hiding behind the Sacred 2 screen and I could enter in my information, but >< I could only access it by Alt Tabbing. The installation was failing because I wasn't registering it (not that it was giving me the option to either). Kiy
  5. Sorry for answering months later. But, If you notice from my first post, its a level 22 unique relic (without modifier) I got on my 52/53 seraphim... but doesn't matter really I was just curious. I have since gotten several more low level unique relics on a 20+ higher level character that had no modifiers. I'm just assuming its cuz I'm sill playing Silver... Haven't had much time lately to play much and since wipe... haven't gotten gold unlocked yet. Kiy
  6. Truly amazing. I love how you took us on the journey with you as your drawing developed. Wish I could draw. Kiy
  7. Glad to see you got it working Evil. It's just a matter of being persistent since not every fix works for everyone. BUT.. it's definitely worth the effort! Oh and as an interesting aside... Sacred2 runs much better on my Alienware Laptop then on my PC.. there is a post in here somewhere with all the work I had to go through to get it working on my Desktop and it still runs at about half the quality of my laptop. Kiy
  8. Ahhh.. thank you for clearing that up for me, makes sense I guess. I'll just have to get buzy and win the game again so I can get access to gold. Oh, sigh... wish I hadn't lost all my old backup files.
  9. I don't want to see S3 as an MMO... but that's selfishness on my part. I have played many a MMO out there and I ALWAYS come back to Sacred eventually. It's re-playability over and over, the fun in exploring every inch of such a vast world and being different every time you play it due to the myriad of possible builds is part of its charm. I have been a die-hard fan of Sacred since S1 was first released. I personally only play Sacred in SP mode and like having that option. Although since joining this forum recently and you all being so friendly and helpful has tempted me to maybe try MP sometime. I tried once to get it to work but failed and have yet to try again. I have played most of the popular MMO's out there. I spent many years on one in a community and I love my online friends, but...I get tired of the 'tudes in MMO's (most especially endgame)and its always a pleasure to come back to Sacred where I don't have to deal with random cranky players (being nice here). In short... I play for fun and lots of people in MMO's forget that its a just game and it's supposed to be fun. I guess I wouldn't mind if maybe they improved the MP... but I'm not really sure how it would work. I do know that whatever happens... I will be buying it.
  10. Hi All! I got this drop recently somewhere between Black Oaks and Orcish Byway while playing my 51-53 Sara. Kinda a depressing relic huh! Not sure if its a bug or not, but would be nice if it had a modifier and shouldn't it be at the level she is at currently?.

  12. OSSUM! job guys. (yes its spelled wrong, just being "cute" ) Can't wait for it to finish downloading so I can try it out. I don't post much, but felt it important to let you all know how much your appreciated. Kudos on the hard work you all ROCK. update: Wasn't sure where to post this so I'm just gonna give an update to the CM 120 patch update. I also did clean install of the new Nvidia drivers that just came out. Not sure if it was the patch or the new driver but... I'm happy to say I have been running Sacred 2 for a few hours now on max settings including PhysX and weather without (that's right WITHOUT) a single glitch, crash, bump or twitch. I couldn't be happier. CHEERS!
  13. Yea PhysX is disabled... Im always hitting F7 everytime I do anything... and had saved like 100 times between where I ended up and where she was.... its wierd, I still have all the gear but her mounts and quests are gone... idn. Im just happy to be playing again. Kudos to all the peeps on this site for being so ossum
  14. Still getting the random crashes here and there, but thankfully save works now. I realized the other day, during all that crashing and saving glitching, my 45 Sara lost all quests except chapter 1 and both her mounts ;; /cry. Oh well, at least it plays. I'm one of those ppl that have to search every nook and cranny... hoping to get 100% of the map, lol.
  15. Actually ya, but not really so much "video" as Graphics. I used to work in post production. I got to Beta test stuff cuz if the programs would blow up, I was the one that usually pushed them to far. Currently I mostly use my PC for photography and gaming.
  16. Hey I like Honda Civic's! This rig was a stroke of luck... I was in the right place at the right time working the right job, been almost 2 years now and I love it. Guess batting my eyes helped a bit too. lol!
  17. Well its not going to waste... just on Sacred 2 Can't wait for S3 Think Sacred Underworld would run on my PC? Haven't tried.. was pretty sure it wouldn't work? What do you think?
  18. lol, I'm sure you were thinking WTH 2g... on that rig ROFLMAO. Well think my problem is solved. Set to only use 1 GPU and played for about an hour tonight no freezes and saved without crashing. So guess its my quad GPU /cry such a shame. /Hugs to all that helped. Maybe some day Ill get my nooblette self into MP and torment ya all. LOL!
  19. Wow, Some OSSUM help, you guys ROCK! BTW, that was a typo.... me bad. I have 12GB DDR3, cuz I do a lot of graphics I run under Admin settings already, and have tried in xp compat, but that sucked. Wondering if a clean install might be in order... I will try LazyTomcat and Czevak's suggestions and get back to you.
  20. So sorry this is a long one... I'm playing on Sacred 2 Gold UK patched to 2.65.2 w. CM Patch 110 Sys specs are: Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 @3.33ghz 2GB DDR3 1600 MHZ ASUS P6T Deluxe Mobo Nvidia Gforce GTX 295 x2 (quad, 1g) Killer Xeno PCI-E gaming adapter Liquid Cooling Raid 0 SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio Win 7 Ultimate 64, SP1 I previously was running max graphics settings with PhysX no problem, only changes made skipopenal and nocpubinding, running simultaneously: AV, Messenger, FFXI Then I installed the CMPatch 110. Now it crashes when Saving and exiting and randomly doesn't actually save anything. These are the things I have tried: Use Skipopenal and nocpubinding Downloaded and installed the 4gb patch. Didn't appear to make a difference one way or the other. Downloaded and installed the Sacred 2 Launcher, tried setting the refresh to many different settings, it crashed every time it refreshed Uninstalled launcher and tried using the following in game "~" to open console, type: "sysflush", "enter", wait till done, "~" to close crashed then tried "ctl F1" which I read suggested in a post... NOPE game crashed the F7 key says on the game screen its saving, but it doesn't.. and I loose all gear and progress on Character when it crashes EXCEPT... hmm very interesting, the log book and map reflect areas covered and completed quests... but my inventory, gold, combat arts and equipped weapons don't... go figure Disabled PhysX and tried both lowest graphics settings and highest settings... no difference either way Disabled AV and everything else I could tell was running that didn't need to be, also disable visual themes and desktop composition still crashes on save's I did not update to 2.43 when I did my I & B install... could that be an issue? I heard it had issues with Win7 so I left it at 2.40 Soooo.... just for giggles I uninstalled everything but Sacred 2, Ice and Blood and the 2.55.2 patch, and... no crashes and I can run the game at max settings with PhysX and when I exit and save that's exactly what it does. I kno Sacred 2 hates my PC, and I totally understand why...but but but... I love Sacred 2. I would gladly dual boot with XP, but sadly that's not an option for me /cry. I think it's maybe a save issue and possibly a memory leak or something like that 1.5g thingy (I'm not the most computer savvy person, just enough to get by and understand whats happening)... and from what I understand there really isn't anything in the CM Patch that should cause this if I works flawlessly without. so could be an incompatibility issue somewhere huh? Thanks so much for taking time to try and help me... I feel like I'm imposing. *hugs* Kiy
  21. Im on Sacred 2 Gold UK patched to 2.65.2 Sys specs are:
  22. Absolutely no difference with regard to crashing in elite or lowest settings... yea still crashes. I have Im told an insane amount of GPU (blush) so pretty sure that's not the issue, but you never know. Me thinks it has nothing to do with the game or the patch really, this evening it froze and I got a Microsoft error at the same time... could be another Win7 issue. /cry wish my XP laptop hadn't fried.
  23. Grrr, since loading the CMpatch 110 the game freezes and crashes. I have not had that problem prior running on Elite textures and Physx as well. I have tried disabling Physx and lowering all graphics but it still freezes, also it not only doesnt save when using the exit and save function, it crashes. Thank god I F7 save often. Any advice?
  24. Hey Wolfie, thanks for the quick reply. Yea I have Sacred Gold UK version, had a friend in the UK get it for me the moment I heard about it. Glad to see you all are offering it to everyone here... its definitely worth the cost of replacing your Sacred 2 US version ihmo. I installed the CM patch tonight and started a new character.. too excited to see what ya all have done to wait till tomorrow... gonna be tired tomorrow, but oh well.
