  1. Just be very careful with the use of Frenzy, as a healer, I will let a warrior die that uses this too much at the wrong time..not out of spite..more out of it would take way too much energy to try and keep that warrior alive...I'll let him die in order to save the entire party. Your making your warrior..a glass cannon..worse..a glass cannon at melee range with tons of baddies. Defense is just as important as offense. When I play a warrior, especially in monster bashing sessions, I make a balanced mix of offense and defense. People count on my steady damage and ability to take damage. Melee has several counters..evasive stances, blocking, and wards reduce your effectiveness...as well as hexes that stop you from getting adrenline, energy, or just out right cause you damage everytime you swing (spiteful spirit). So to answer your question..everything is situational...have serveral builds...and have a balanced build for when you are entering and fighting the unknown. As for drawbacks with Mark of Pain..it has good synergy with melee, but shares the same vulnerability of an enchantments, they can be removed..or even used to damage you.
  2. I personally think it is directly related to how fast you get resources in. If you are are building what you want and not really getting a surplus of resoures, then you are fine.

    55 Monks

I personally avoid what I consider "gimick" builds. I have played a monk at all levels of the game and competition...I have never played a 55 because it is a dedicated farming build..and I am the worst farmer...ever. 55 monks are designed specifically to fight things solo that do not remove enchantments..and also is the most "botted" (meaning people use a script and leave game unattended) build in existance.
  4. No, you do not need the expansion or participate in the Hallow End festival.
  5. Yes, lots of fun. Hallow's End and the release of Nigthfall! I got my box and activated my key so I'm ready to rock!
  6. Heroes of Might and Magic V is a very solid release for them...many consider it one of the best in the series, if not the best. I hope Dark Messiah and revitalize the roleplaying side of the series.
  7. It is not a bad game, not great either. It has a weak release, which is typcial these days. The internet and patching has made publishers sloppy with tight Q/A procedures. I'd say a few patches and Mageknight will be a solid game.
  8. Chances are Gogo, that +20 modifier is versus physical damage, thus only applies to physical..it is likely 80 AR versus other types of damage. As a warrior I personally go with Sentinel armor, it does require you keep a 13 strength minimum...however you get a universal 100 AR no matter what type of damage it is. I really depends on the role and tactics and skills you plan to use to which armor is best. I will say to high armor combined with an evasion stance..like Bonnetti's Defense..is an excellent way to increase your survival. As a warrior I would personally never carry more than 3 attacks..4 if I am bringing an interrupt. There are entire articiles written on damage mitigation. Having said that, there are many damage forms that completely ignore armor...Necro Life Drains...Mesmer attacks..some Elementalists...all condition damage like poison and burning. Any damage over time ignores armor. There is a maximum cap on how much regeneration or degeneration you can have...either +10 or -10 ticks...each tick..if I recall is 2 health per second. The regen/degen is a total sum..meaning the entire sum of regen compaired to your degen in calculated then the cap is applied. I play primarily as a protection/healing monk, so I tend to study damage and how to try and counter it...it is what I do I will say people that know how to blend offense and defense tend to be my favorite people to play with and are the most successful. p.s. Guild Wars is designed around players being level 20 with access to pretty much the same skills and gear.
  9. The way many use torrents is of questionalble legality. Torrents also require a client and open ports through a firewall. Meaning you are making you computer more vulnerable to intrusion, not to mention you have no idea what you are actually downloading is clean. This can be used to simply file share, but most often it is used to distribute files and media that were copyrighted and people hoped to make money in making and selling. So I tend to view this as "warez".
  10. Mine is split and nestled in my defensive array. It also allows me to operate small raiding fleets in galaxy 3 and 8. I would say it depends enitrely on what you use your fleet for. If you are a fleet crasher, you will likely need to keep the bulk of your fleet together, if you use it for minor raids and mixed with defense..then splitting can be a good option.
  11. Welcome Llama! Yay, yet another excuse to post a cow!
  12. While I am a strong advocate for defense, I am a stronger advocate of a balanced empire.
  13. I'm just glad you are enjoying it. I've had quite a few things that I did not initially like, but in time ended up really enjoying. Gamebanshee has excellent walkthroughs if you get stuck someplace and need a little nudge.
  14. You must not read the main Guild Wars page..or page attention to the login screen GoGo... 22nd - 24th of September
  15. Ah yes, SoS has a non- aggression with T.N.T. according to their page..thoug Dark and Dark Wing not mentioned I think I got confused /unsure ..that happens a lot too me. So why was an attack by T.N.T. posted in this thread again?
  16. Well is it one particular member violating the NAP or is it serveral? I would not want to brand the entire SoS simply because they have one or two wayward members. I do agree with Firefly..we do have to stand up. I also agree with Blue Rookie..probing is as unacceptable as attacking. So far we have infractions for: Ji Ji If anyone else experiences issues, please report them to the group so we all are aware.
  17. I just had to share one of the many awesome player made movies for World of Warcraft.
  18. I am embarrased by the attention. /sweat I just play my own style and have ample defense to deter most people from bothering me.
  19. I play on the newer roleplaying server: Sentinels Me and my friend just have gotten started there.
  20. Thanks I just keep plugging along.

I would appreciate if Ji Ji stop spying on me, this is not the first time, just the latest. I am not sure what offical policy is, but seeing how Dark and SoS are supposedly allied..I consider this bad form...
  22. You will naturally get to Droknar's Forge in you simply progress naturally through the missions, runs to the forge are common since they can be done early through Beacon's Perch. If you plan to go through all the missions anyway..then there is no need really. It is intended you be about level 20 by the time you reach the Forge.
