Game Mechanics

Recommended Posts

I just got Sacred 2 for the 360, and I'm trying to get a buddy of mine to get it so we can quest together, but there's some questions about the game mechanics I'd like answered in the meantime. I'm sure these have been asked a dozen times already, but I'd just like to have all the answers in one place.

1. In multiplayer, how is xp and gold distributed between players from combat and from quests? Do all players get the same amounts?

2. What does Party A/B/C/D mean when you're looking at Server Options? What exactly does it affect? I've heard it affects only PVP, but I've also heard it affects xp and gold rewards.

3. If I'm level 20, and my buddy's level 10, would we be fighting enemies that are in the 20s range or 10s range?

4. Do you and your friend have to be close together when a quest is turned in?

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Any help is appreciated.

From what I know

1. Things are distributed about evenly when you campaign together. Each drop is allocated to a player and locked for a time. If not picked up, then it becomes "free" until it expires and disappears.

2. More players can play in a server than can be in a party. A/B/C/D merely designate which player is partied with which others.

3. They'll be in the 20's.

4. No. You ca be anywhere when quests a re turned in. But experience (and loot) sharing requires you to be close together.

3. They'll be in the 20's.

This is true but if your friend is the one starting the game and your the one joining in, you would be fighting level 10 baddies as the levels spawn around the same level as the host player. :drunkards:

Not so.

My friend was a level 30 SW, I was a level 40 SE.

He hosted, I joined, and the enemies were 40+.

True PS3-based Sacred 2 story.

I suspect that was due to your friends survival bonus causing the enemies level to be about +10 his level :drunkards:

So basically it's meaningless? I had heard that it affects PVP in that if you had 2 people in Party A, and 2 in Party B, it meant that the 2 in Party A couldn't attack each other and the same with Party B, but a Party A member could attack a Party B member.

Another question: When you socket runes for a bonus to a Combat Art rather than just reading them, do you incur the same penalty if your Focus isn't high enough?

Example: Let's say I have 5 memorized runes in the Seraphim's Battle Stance CA, and my Exalted Warrior Focus skill gave me a max level of 5 for that aspect, if I socket a couple runes into my weapons for +2 Battle Stance, making it level 7, would it still incur the same penalty as simply reading the runes?

Boosting Combat Arts through equipment bonuses does still incur the same partial level penalties if you go past the maximum level without penalty. There is however another benefit, a level gained by an equipment bonus only gives half the Regeneration Time/Penalty(for Buffs) increase as using a rune does.

So if at level 4 the regen time for your Pelting Strikes is 3.0s and the details say at level 5 you will have a regen time of 3.6s. If you gain a level from a Pelting Strikes +1 bonus on your equipment your level 5 Pelting Strikes would have a regen time of 3.3s not 3.6s.
