New Player Help - Looking for Character to Play First time

hello everyone, ive been looking over these forums, searching for a char to play through the game with for the first time [yes im a newb]

ive tried most of the chars and found the ability system to be... akward for the most part

any help would be greatly appriciated

Check them out, and see which ones catch your fancy. After you've done some reading, post more questions regarding how your own personal tastes for classes fit what the game has.

actually I was refering to Sacred 1 / underworld

I dont really have a play style, other then I know I hate just sitting there and smashing enemies faces in

ranged attacks are a plus for me, was thinking of doing WE , gun dwarf, or BM- although I dont think that would be good for a first char

also hate buffing before every fight

Ahhh, heh, sorry. I didn't see which forum the post was in. There's a ton of posted builds for Sacred, and some excellent dwarf builds and guides put up by Tharkane and some other players.

 

If you're going to go Battle Mage, I've hard lots of great things about the power of an ice build, and poison wind.

Personally, I always liked playing as the Demon; nice fire spells, and you can fly over cliffs ;3

I'll play advocate for the Gladiator here, he's proficient in every weapon style like a crushing 2hander hammer

 

or maybe a Dastardly X-bow or Bow archer?

 

or a Dual Wielding Dervish?

 

or maybe a Shield wearing Knight in shining armor?

 

or the cleric/monk Glad with a staff?

 

or maybe the Gladiator who likes punching stuff with his bare fists?

 

 

You see the gladiator can be a pretty versalite class and now I'm getting the itch to play Sacred 1 again!

I`ll put in a word for Mages

Fire tree :- fire spiral and flame skin

Poison :-gust of wind ,lightningand whirlwind

Frost :- Ice shards and ring of Ice

Pacifist :- water form I took this one to gold with zero kills

 

Vampire can be taken to gold with no skills learned or runes read

started a gladiator

but was it smart of me to start on silver?

I see alot of people saying that they start on silver because its not much different and you unlock gold

should I have started on bronze for a first playthough?

You can choose, try silver maybe you'd like it, if it really gets too hard then switch back to bronze (you can export your character & restart in bronze)
