US and UK keys

Say I got my hand on a UK copy of the game to install it on my pc. Could I go to store and buy a US copy of the game and use its keys.\

I tried downloading it from silver website. I can't get it to work. Something about my payment method, but I am using paypal^^.

I dont think that works, using UK Key for US install. you need UK key for UK game and vice versa.

In a way it is in fact possible but I wouldn't advise that scenario.

 

You can register a US key from within a UK install and even play that game but you'll have to change the port language and number to do that within an optionsCustom.txt file on your pc.

 

UK

US

network .lobby_ip = "us.sacred2.net"
network .lobby_port = 6900

 

Ultimately you'll be playing a UK language installation with a US key and playing on US servers.

 

Reason I don't advise it is because you won't be able to play with us! The action for Sacred 2 is found on the UK servers and you'd need a UK key to get in on it.

My experience was not near that dramatic, not saying anything negative towards the above link.

As some of ya know, I hold multiple license's in 2.43, or vanilla as I've seen it called, and IB both US and EU.

In my particular situation I can play IB or "vanilla" in either server, by making sure the file executable for either, or, is located and renamed properly, as to identify its intended use.

No registry editing, just simple manipulation of file executables.

The short,, A UK copy of IB will play across the pond.
