Unable to play a specific saved character - corrupted character?

I have at least one saved character that just will not load, the screen flickers and actually shows the tips window and the Saved game window at the same time as if it doesn't know which one to process.

I have taken a picture with my camera since using the Print Screen will not work when this happens.

 

 

 

So is there anything I can do to save this character?

 

I know there's some goodies in the storage chest for it and would like to grab them.

Have you tried reloading the game? It's hard to tell if your saved game file is corrupted or if the tips file got corrupted or both from the screen shot. Reloading the game will not lose your saved games but may clean up the other files and connections. I would turn off the tips loading in the option settings and see if that helps also. Personally, I get more info off the forums than from tip screens.

Well I would turn off the tips if I knew how that's done.

 

I did make an OptionsCustom.txt file because I had some fixes in there already.

 

I found a line in the Options.txt for tutorial = 1

But I know that you shouldn't make any chnages to that so I added a line to my optionsCustom.txt file to this tutorial = 0

 

I'll see how this works out.

Well it looks like nonebody else seemed to have this issue....and no real help on it so to speak.

 

I did fix it, sort of...oh well.
