Omunall 0
Hello, I was browsing walmart awhile ago and saw this game (gold edition) online, so I went ahead and ordered two copies for my wife and I to play. It seems the servers are down but it's got LAN, which made me happy. I have a problem with importing my single mode character into the LAN game; it seems that I'm able to import the LAN character to single play, but not vice-versa. Is this normal or am I missing something? Also, I'm having trouble getting started in this game. Not that it's hard to manage, but I'm new to PC game in general, so it's sort of a feeling of how to get into it. (PC games seem to be a bit more min/max management in the RPG types, like Never winter and this game...sort of hard to NOT screw up my character ) What's a goos way to start off? Should I just sort of put points everywhere, or will it really kill my character later on? I'm just sort of playing with my wife at the moment, but she's running a seraphim, and I was thinking about a Daemon or maybe a Battle Mage. Would it mess me over if I made a build that was sort of both magic and melee (Like physical regen points and alternate to strength or mental regen, to lower the combat arts for both magical and non). I'm sure this will make a "gimped" build, but I'm hoping that it will at least just DO well in both areas, but still require a bit of effort. Then again, I have no idea if I even understand the skill system in this game haha. Pretty cool game though, hope you all still play it enough to visit the forums...seems a bit aged, but it also seems like it would last through the time it's been out. Sorry for the wall Link to comment
Dragon Brother 619
From what I remember you need to load your savefile in singleplayer and then export the character. You should then be able to select the toon in LAN play. As to allocating skill points...the battle mage is probably not the best class to play as a hybrid if you are new to the game. Having said that, read through a few of the forums in the build section and you may get some pointers for your bm, or for other classes. Link to comment

I've not tried that, but I'm just hoping to be able to run the progress of the game in single mode while she's off on a trip r something, and then port back to multi when she gets back (without having to play it in LAN mode single play...just because lol, not a big deal though) Anyway, the battle mage I'm just planning on doing a magic build, but seeing the builds I'm noticing that he sort of focuses in one type of magic, vs beingable to use all of his skills well. Do all the characters tend to do ths? Link to comment
Spunky 16
Major off topic here... But, is it just me or is this thread bugged? as I see it there's extreme amounts of empty space between each post Link to comment
Omunall 0
looks normal to me? Link to comment
DaveO 88
If you want magic + melee capabilities both the Seraphim and Daemon are good ways to go. Gladiators, Dark Elves, and Daemons can dual wield weapons pretty quickly. In regards to attribute and skill choices, don't be afraid to experiment to find out what you like. Link to comment
Omunall 0
Thanks much. Sorry for the late reply, I had no internet for awhile. I ended up running a dwarf. So far he's about level 50 something and having loads of fun, but I picked up sacred 2 so now I'm stuck playin that for now haha. Link to comment
ololcat 3
Nice choice, after you get the hang of him, (and willing to risk), you can add WIDD to your build to get a really overpowered character Edited May 25, 2011 by ololcat Link to comment
