Dungeon Siege 3: Anjali vs Jayne Kassynder - Video

  • 1 month later...

I just ordered this game today.

Tried the demo on ps3 last night, and I liked it.

Ran smooth and had neat visuals.

Right now I'm glad I'm a console gamer.

No steam or even internet connection needed to have a good time.

Btw, why is steam so unholy for pc gamers?

I have steam on my computer for smaller games, but it isn't giving me any fuzz of any kind.

Hey Sirius, this game was a ton of fun!

I think most of the negatives about Steam is that it's a constant connect system for us. The Autonomy most of us classically define as being a game is transformed with this constant connection...

kind of a like a big brother kind of thing?

Plus I think I remember that with Sacred 2, Steam didn't have the patches as quickly as the rest of us would get if we had bought the game through traditional channels.

I seem to remember a reviewer saying that he finished the game in 11 hours on normal difficulty, all side-quests included.

Is it really that short?

Very short, but a lot of fun to play. Great story, at least I found it so...I don't usually get into games for anything other than builds, but this time around I got fooled into sticking it out cuz I found parts of the story great reading.

Schot mentionned an interesting critique about the game though... you seem to get all the big powerups on the first time through... it kinda impacted my replay experience... lol in fact I only played it through once... for some reason after that I kinda petered out

Oh, I see.

I loved the demo though, so I guess I'll enjoy playing it through once.

At least I won't have any problems with the game dragging out, eh?

I think I'll ask a friend over to play the story with me.

Did you play it alone?

yeah I did. I was so wanting this game to be the MP game we were/are looking for to play with this community, but MP for this game is so strange... you basically can play in this game with a friend in the same instance as them, but only as one of their own chosen escorts! So... basically you jump into the game running along side your friend, but you get to only choose whichever of the escorts he has developed or built...you never get to play your own developed build along side someone else's.

This was kind of a downer for me, and while I know the creators of Dungeon Siege 3 say that they built it this way because for story line purpose it only makes sense that for MP it be expressed this way... for me, the fun of a true MP game is being able to play against the game with the fruits of my time co-joined with a friends.

DS3's Story line is so entertaining for me though, I'm still glad I bought the game, I'll just keep looking for MP somewhere else
