Popular Post wolfie2kX 528
Eventually I reached the island in singleplayer with no timer limit. It was very fun. They even have some odd petting zoo of animals with player names. Best close the door quick as they could escape. That "petting zoo" is the CM Patch guys way of putting the credits for all the people who helped out with the CM Patch by contributing, testing, translating and so forth. If you look at the names, you'll find the names of many residents of DarkMatters.org... They should be quite familiar to one and all. 3 Link to comment

Popular Post SX255 630
In the western parts of orc lands stands a powerful monument, dedicated to Hooyaah, the great explorer. So I finished the western southwestern seas exploration. Here is the world edge mapped out. When I got back to the coast line, I found hard wooden floors, probably left by Cthulhu. Along the edge an odd black thin wall appeared. I could climb it to the top or get stuck in it. The TG regional music added more creepiness to the atmosphere. And then it ended right before the coast. The wall continued and had a huge gap at the end. The coast line went a bit to the west, but not very far. Popular Post Hooyaah 2,825
Following the lead of the great explorer, SX255, I also went on an interesting map-jump journey of my own, roughly along the path shown in red. I saw some interesting sights, including some beautiful waterfalls in the dense jungle and some surreal, even spooky, otherworldly map features of which few have been witness. 2 Link to comment

Popular Post Hooyaah 2,825
Well, OK then, since you asked so nicely and because I don't wish to disappoint you.... here you go... ^ This way my first "step" off the map. ^ I was on my way, one "hop" at a time. ^ Here's a rather snowy border; I decided to cut back away toward the jungle. ^ I discovered this hidden waterfall, totally lost to the eyes of standard players. We "explorers" have some distinct advantages, do we not? ^ You can appreciate the raw beauty of this spectacular scene in this screenshot. More to come soon... 3 Link to comment
Popular Post Dorimil 224
I must say that I really appreciate your screenshots. it is like running through Ancaria with a camera instead a sword or staff. I have played hundred of hours, but I never "relax" that way...it was always "where is the next monster to kill!" 2 Link to comment

Popular Post Hooyaah 2,825
^ I know what you mean. After thousands of hours of play I decided to take this approach and enjoy, upon occasion, a brief respite away from the fray. My High Elf actually immersed herself within such a secluded waterfall and washed away all the filth of battle. Now she's ready to find a street cafe' with a nice latte' macchiato. ^ Here she is near the starting point of Kybele' Tears. ^ "A virtual abyss, I wonder what would become of me if I were to trek any further? Ah well, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained,' or so they say." ^ "So, the water filling Kybele's Tears is actually delivered via this boarded sluice?" ^ "How interesting, look at how the boards are so warped and weathered in appearance." ^ "I have never seen something so surreal before, I wonder if Salvidor Dali ever dreamed of anything suchlike." Next time, "The Off-Map Journey Ends at Na'Fian." 4 Link to comment
gogoblender 3,071
Is that boarded sluice for real? It's in game for actually wha purpose? for water movement? gogo Link to comment
Popular Post Hooyaah 2,825
^ It is there Sir Gogo, but it is "extra-game," one has to map-jump to find/see it. A toon cannot simply travel there merely mounted or on foot. There are indeed, some very unexpected and enthralling visual treats in store for they who wish to stray from the following of quests and trek off the map for a time, instead. ^ After a few short hops through the dense jungle south of Ceria Delith, having found no hidden arenas with bloodthirsty bosses, I decided to cut back and to the right toward the coast. ^ "Does this mean that the world is flat and it ends here, or is this the boundary to yet another world, a different plane, or even some subsequent dimension or alternate reality?" ^ Here is an area where it appears there was a bit of fun had during game development and a degree of experimenting with textures of snow on stone paving. I would challenge they who are interested to visit this area and see more with your own eyes. ^ This is my final way-point before heading to Na'Fian. ^ From my antecedent way-point, I "jumped" along the coastline where large terrapins were evenly spaced along the way, just as immobile as was I, but for the ability to Shadow Step my way bit by bit. I continued the process across the sandy ocean floor until I reached the shore. 5 Link to comment
Popular Post Hooyaah 2,825
I decided to embark on an interesting journey, hopping from Na'Fian... ^ I'm on my way to Dyr Laigh (before having completed the portion of the Main Quest in order to aquire proper passage there). ^ This is just an average-looking ocean floor, isn't it? ^ "Hm, these plate borders do not appear to mesh very well..." ^ "Okay, whose the surrealist with the sense of humor at Ascaron who created this?" ^ "I appear to be approaching a small tropical island." (Note the wave action just off shore of the island.) ^ "Well, it appears that there is not much here to see." ^ "But wait, what is this?" ^ This is a selfie with a remote statue of Forens. It is important to mention that this cannot be seen unless one does a bit of "island hopping." ^ Yet another, even smaller, nameless tropical Island off the coast of D'Ary. ^ Here you can see my path across the sea to D'Ary and a afterward a walk to Dyr Laigh (dispatching turtles along the way, of course).
