Olympic winter games

So it's time for the 20th winter olympic games, and as usual it's totally going to dominate all media here in Norway for the next two weeks.

I will watch some of the events like: Ski jumping, Ice-Hockey and biathlon relay.

However I think the medias coverage is a bit too much.

 

How do you feel about the olympics? Any favourite event or competitor?

I'll watch some not sure if I could watch all of it though. Not really any favortie event...I love the ski jumping and Ice Hockey but don't have any favorite competitor or country to win.

I love the ski jump. Not sure of it's official name, but the one where they go down a massive ramp and fly off into the distance. I think you need to have a certificate of insanity to qualify for it, lol !

We live in mid germany's low mountain range: 300-600 metres. So no alpine skying, no ski jumping, no ice hockey because no halls or frozen lakes nearby, same for skating, ....

Cross country skiing or biathlon are the winter sports in our region and the only ones which I watch or did. Our oldest is doing telemark (free heel) skiing and not alpine skiing. Our local hills have not this long downhill as in the alpes. So telemark is slower, more asthetic and less risc of injury.
