Holidays are coming

Recommended Posts

:) The holidays are coming and with them a lot of family stuff, partying, drinking and what not. :4rofl:

But even with all of that there will be still some free time for ourselfs and doing what we want to do just for ourselfs be it something to read, watch or play. So here is were this topic comes in. There are so many of us here and we can help each other with good advice all in one place and some info on it. Since I made the topic I will start with my gifts to you:

MOVIES[TV]:

1.Casino Royal= The new 007 movie is really great. It has a nice plot with real life stuff Not some super weapon or what not. The love story is better then any before and we do get to see some really good acting.

2.The Illusionist=This is a must see I hope it is in the cinema near you *I sound like a movie poster*. It has a great plot nice twist good love story. For the guys something to take your woman to and not get board in the proces. Jokes aside this is a great movie it is set somewere before WW1 in Vienna and although the story is fictional, some of the details are based on the life of Austrian Crown Prince Rudolf. The cast by it self add a lot to the movie:Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel and Rufus Sewell. So go and watch it.

3.Heroes=the new NBC TV series is something fresh on TV and worth watching if you catch an episode be sure to watch it. I will for sure be making a topic about this in the Movie area on the forum.

READ:

Here I hope to get some nice books from you guys since I am out of the game for the last 6-7 moths. What I can offer is something else a nice comic. I have been looking for the Star Wars comics for some time now and I finaly found them online to read. So it wont be hard work to find the and some of you can for sure find the in the comics stores near you. Here is the list of them you should read:

*Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - The Golden Age of the Sith

*Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - The Fall of the Sith Empire

*Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - Dark Lords of the Sith

*Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - The Sith War

*Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi - Redemption

They are all in the right reading order so if you like Star Wars or better if you liked KOTOR you will like reading about some of the names that come out in it.

PLAYING:

1.War Hammer Mark of Chaos=Well this has to be my firs choise for the hoildays we have a forum topic on it so there shouldn't be much more on it. It is simply great.

2.Marvel Ultimate Alliances=RPG game that lets you make a team of all the caracters of Marvel.

3.DreamBlade=All games dont have to be with the PC. This is a board game something like an advanced Chess. It took the world in a storm and even went in less the 2 moths out of stock wich says a lot. In in you make your warband of dream creatures and pin them against your enemys. Well take a look at the game page for some more info on it: http://ww2.wizards.com/DreamBlade/Gallery.aspx [The link is to the gallery so you can see what the mins look like there is an online demo for you to tray]

This will be some of the things that I can give you or better come to me mind. I would like to read some from the rest of you and get myself some ideas.

Ayup, the holidaze are indeed coming. And Kat, boy you sher do make a great argument for hiding out on the relatives and just indulging. I must say your mention of the Star Wars saga is awesome. It's actually gotten me into the mood fer perhaps doing a long starwars sleepover night with me l'il cuzzies and chill to the drama. As well, your mention again of the Dream Blade game had me to look it up right now...are you really painting all those miniautures yourself, you? For this christmas I had kind of gotten the idea to put more of a little me into it and perhaps send home made christmas cards to the family and friends. It's funny how much gettins eomthing in the mail means these days and I just now I love it when someone sends me a card. Guess now is as good a time as any to return the favor.

Ahhh, The Illusionist. From the first day I saw this trailer I fell in love with it's cinematography, story and era. I had always wanted to be a magician when I was younger and this movie's sher to be a nice trip through the past. I'm kinda a little sad I missed it in the theatre though when it first came out. This is the kind of thing that a huge viewing space only enhances. Oh well...it's blockbuster for me then...MIster Rental to the rescue :bounce:

Heroes...ahh, yehaw...Crunchie was over here with us a few days ago and we were all doing a big GW marathon all day on our LAN...and he had brought up how his dad totally got him hooked into the series. I searched fer some epiosdes found the first one and was hooked. This makes another one on top of Battlestar for me to be addicted to now ;)

Well, it's off to the christmas card making, but this thread is a great list of extra stuff ta get to during these awesome days.

Great thread

:)

No the DreamBlade mini. come prepainted Gogo all you need is in the starter to start playing. I am sure that you will love it it doesnt cost much and since your got Schot right there you two can give it a go. I promiss you wont rigret it and it is for sure some brain training and eyes resting from the PC.

As for Star Wars maraton that is a great idea I may have to find some 12 hours for them :D If you get a chance take a look at the comics I do think there are some adobe online files of them and these are by fare the best storys and best time frames in the SW.

What about books Gogo do you have any ideas?

P.S.: This is the movie that I am going to see in the cinema around new year for sure Eragon.
