They review them, they make new rules, they make new game pieces, they even have their own convention once or twice a year... The place to when you want to know what has good rules/great graphics/is fun/is cheap/is big/is small...etc... I just thought I'd mention it since someone started talking about Risk (the Board Game) here. Oh...and I think they led me to "Wizard's Quest" the 'online' version. (Just computer version).
