I feel with you, It is really best if you remember the funny and good moments. When we visit the grave of my dad we often laugh, because it are the funny moments with him I tell to my kids. Not able to see him anymore before dying... I have very mixed feeling about this. My grandpa was just getting weaker and weaker and the whole family could say good bye. My dad, he had several strokes and was not able to breath anymore without machines. After 3 weeks I was asked for an okay to turn of the machines. His body was trying for 3 more hours to breath and I felt guilty to gave the okay. The docs including my wife could tell over and over again that the fight were only reflexes, it didn't look so. I was only speaking with my oldest sister about the last moments. My youngest sister had just her baby and the wife of my brother was pregnant. My oldest sister was living in Portugal then and so I had to do the decision alone and the bad dreams alone. Didn't help that he wasn't the first one I saw dying, he was my dad. I don't know how the funeral will be in corona times. At my dad's his former classmates told a lot of stories from the time when my dad was young, stories I never heard before but which helped to remember him as a funny person. I do real hard with posts like this since English is not my mother language. I allways hope that none of my words are badly chosen.
