  2. Hi everyone Well, it looks like after two great years with D.a.r.k being a leading clan in uni 9, having a great site, and pulling off some crazy ops like the big ipm strike, we are finally slowing down. Our forum posts are lessening, we have members with (I) beside their name... I want to be as upfront here as possible and ask honest questions to everyone in the clan as to how they see what's happening. I'm thinking that we're going to have to ask some heavy questions and make some big decisions. First off, as most of you know, I'm not playing ogame anymore. After two years, I have to say I've probably enjoyed this game like nothing else I've ever played in my life. I've met all you guys, consider so many of you my friends, enjoyed the politics, the account building and the crashes. Ogame is what made DarkMatters, it's big founding game, and it seems that we should give it an honest and thorough going over to understand what everyone here thinks is happening and what we should do. I don't see myself returning to the game, heh, in fact I was planning on retiring during the summer, but me giving Ike my account has weaned me off the o'crack, and I've found myself hip deep with Sacrd, this forum and Sacred Wiki. I think it's important to be honest when we're talking about what we all do for recreation. I've always felt that playing a game should never be considered an obligation, but instead a true joy during every moment of it. And ogame definitely was. As I'm not playing anymore, I'm still willing to work on all the adminning of the clan from DarkMatters, and am proud to do so. I do feel that some pms which I've received regarding the lackluster interest and gaming time that people are putting in now is something to be concerned iwth only if our active ogame players are still interested in heralding a D.a.r.k banner. And, I'm also ready to say, that if you guys feel that you've played the game for so long and you want to move on...heck that's okay too. LIke I said, game playing should be about fun, and never an obligation. It's got to be fun for everyone who's playing and everyone who's playing has to feel like everyone's being an honest and active contributor to the clan. So, this bring up some points which I'd like to make and we can all discuss them if you guys want to maybe sort out our future before the name of D.a.r.k and our accounts become targeted so much that there's nothing left, including the D.a.r.k reputation. First off...do you guys still want to play Ogame? How many of you are still really interested. And, I'm not talking about just keeping an account and keeping it alive...I mean really playing ogame. I think this is an honest question, because the players that really are have a right to feel that everyone is helping out with the clan, contributing and taking a stand with the clan. If you don't want to play actively, lol, that's fine too! We just have to really get a good number here of who, from this point on wants to play. Actively. As well, while we do have Game Captains, I'm thinking we're going to start needing very active game captains that will be interested in sending out letters to other players, feeling new members out, and yes...taking risks. I'm sorry to say that I was not that game captain for the last few months And I apologize for that. My interest in the game was waning, and the aggressiveness which we had when we were first playing, was perhaps waylaid by my laissez faire attitude with me building fleet, never using it, and just sitting tight way in gal seven. I'm sorry about that, and am hoping now, that with us all looking at what everyone really wants, we'll end up with a Game Captain who knows what's needed and is ready to take risks and take D.a.r.k even further into this endgame...only if you guys are interested. At this point in ogame, for everyone here who still wishes to play, every day is a risk, and to gain a position of strength against that risk, D.a.r.k will definitely need more active members. This position we're in right now will result in a leaner clan, we'll have to definitely slough off all the non-playing members, and then with those who are left that really do want to play, we'll have a group of core players that are still interested in putting all the time into this game that it requires. Those were just a few points I wanted to throw out on the floor to get the ball rolling. I'm hoping you guys have stuff to say on this as well. Post away! gogo
  3. Excllent, and take your time Tomi, no rush, whenever you are able to. Cheers! gogo
  4. woo hoo! tomi, I've got a Damon in niob, but she can make it down to plat. If you ever have runes, just tell me and I'll come and do a rune reading party! gogo
  5. Heya Tomi! I think I'd love to take you up on your rune delivery offer ^^ I've been thinking of the last little while to do some work on a Disc Daemon, and, I was actually wondering about getting runes. If you think you've got extra runes, I think I could probably use them to build something fiery and destructive for Sacred gogo
  6. A fantastic interview with Blind Guardian at Gamespot that features vocalist Hansi Kursch talking about how the group met up with Ascaron, the band's inspiration from Tolkien, Stephen King, and about their appearance in Sacred 2 as NPC's that a player must fulfill a quest with the band-members themselves to win a performance by them as a prize. A great read, enjoy! gogo Taken from Gamespot Blind Guardian on music in games German band Blind Guardian talk to GameSpot about their appearance in the upcoming Sacred 2, and what it's like to be a guitarist playing Guitar Hero. By Sam Bandah, GameSpot UK Posted May 2, 2008 12:59 pm GMT ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While there's a good chance you'll hear your favourite rock band's music in a game these days, it isn't every day that you get to go questing for the band in-game. That's exactly what fans of the German fantasy-metal band Blind Guardian will get to do in the hack-and-slash action RPG Sacred 2, planned for release on PC and Xbox 360 in late 2008. The German band has been around since the mid-'80s, and is famous for lyrics and album covers inspired by its favourite fantasy and horror authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Michael Moorcock, and Stephen King. In keeping with Blind Guardian's fantasy style, the group's members are even called bards by their fans, thanks to an early definitive track called "The Bard's Song," inspired by the 1985 game, The Bard's Tale. GameSpot UK caught up with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kursch, and the band's guitarists, Andre Olbrich and Marcus Siepen, during their motion-capture session for Sacred 2 in Hungary last week. In between filming, the band members talked about their music in Sacred 2, being in the game, and their opinion on music-based games. GameSpot UK: How did Blind Guardian get involved with Sacred 2? Hansi Kursch: That's quite an interesting story. Having three very active fantasy computer game nerds in the band, it's easy to imagine the big impact Sacred 1 has had on us. Because of their passion for Blind Guardian, some of the people at Ascaron in charge of Sacred 2 saw it as an opportunity to have us in the game musically. Coincidence or predestination? We'll never know. Fact is, when we were finally contacted by Ascaron, asking if we were interested in doing a song for the game, we immediately agreed to do so. So far the whole thing has been great fun for us. The reason for that is quite simple: Blind Guardian's music and the world of Ancaria perfectly blend together. GS UK: What exactly can we expect from Blind Guardian in Sacred 2? HK: At first we were only asked to do a song which would be used in the game. Later on, the Ascaron guys came up with the splendid idea of having us as resident [non-playable characters] in the world of Ancaria. We perform in the game as a kind of prize after a quest which our characters are involved in. We're here today to do motion capture for that performance, so it's a big challenge, and the first time we've ever done anything like this. Read the rest of the interview with Blind Guardian here.
  7. lol, c'mon Erling....something a little seksier Media storage is sort of...warehousy gogo
  8. Hey guys, it's been on my mind for a while now, but I never seemed to get around to it. And, lol, everytime I look at the title At the Movies and TV and Books , my mind draws a blank...I just can't seem to come up with a good new forum title for it. I'm exasperated. Can anyone come up with title for this forum here at DarkMatters which covers, movies, TV and books? Oh, and if you have ideas for a snappy three line description or quote for it that would fit below it on the DarkMatters Index page, that would be swell too. gogo
  9. I like Bruce Willis, and I found him great to watch in armageddon as well. SPOILER... ending was so sad gogo
  10. Thanks guys The section is now open to general public gogo

  12. Pretty good Lucalain. The last three sets are my favorites. Are you doing sets for peeps at WNx now? Thanks for sharing your work with us. Have you ever made a set for Sacred? gogo
  13. Telari, I think your drawing with the dryad is definitely my favorite. I'm a big fan of tone, and this last one definitely has a tone of "character" She's got an impish tone ^^ And...dom dom dom dom...a new section has been added to Sacred Wiki, with Telari as first contributor! http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry6811823 gogo p.s. Erling, that was fantastic info regarding the hands. How do you know that stuff? Are you secretly taking art classes and not telling us ^^
  14. It looks like it's art time for Sacred these days on the site, with so many artists all presenting their craft, the talent simply outstanding. Sacred 2, also has some great artwork that was put on Sacred Wiki a few days ago: Sacred 2 Design Art Lately, Telari's got us all inspired and, after asking her for her permission, she is now the first contributor to the new Sacred Wiki Fan art Gallery. Sacred 2 Fan Art Gallery for Sacred Wiki I'm very happy with the way it's come out, and I think we're all excited to see what else anyone could come up with. Anyone here who is a member of this site can add to /edit Sacred Wiki. Just use the same login name and password as you do here on DarkMatters and you'll be able to add your own contributions. Press the Edit button along the top of almost any page, and then look at the how the code is setup, copy and paste it further down the page as your template, and easily stick in your own title and thumbnail link, photobucket works excellent for this. Again, big thanks to Telari for jump starting this great new section. TY! gogo

  21. Yeah me gogo p.s. Thanks for the description Enci. Now, I wanna run over people with a Combine too Got any pics? It's funny, a friend of mine said that all he did for the first day while he had the game was just look around. He just had the feeling that it dug down to so many levels. It's interesting how this is turning into a kind of auto-rpg. Who woulda thunk it. And, muhahah...was on the site...I love the questionnaire
  22. Bravo! An excellent addition to DarkMatters. I was looking at how some of the videos look great with the new addon. A great presentation and your working on keeping the site's technology up to par and beyond is always appreciated. Good job gogo
  23. Ahhh, armagedon... loved the movie. I think so much about it was incredible. I especially loved the "menace" they gave to the asteroid as it was hurtling towards earth. It almost looked alive. I also enjoyed the performances from the ensemble cast. hmmm, maybe I'll watch it again this weekend ^^ gogo
  24. I wanted to try this for awhile Schot, but...I dunno...having google in my computer...kinda makes me nervous. Thought, there apps are so good, and lately ms's search function has been royally awful gogo
