  1. Sounds like could have some fun times playing D IV. I'm looking forward to it! The game graphics look really good. Sounds like people are liking the other elements of the game. Any suggestions on what to look for shopping for in a headset? I briefly glanced at some at the grocery store that were about 25 dollars but didn't look to see any details of what types of headset they were. Seeing these best seller on amazon https://tinyurl.com/2mrutj9a
  2. I haven't played a multiplayer game and talking to other characters in game since Sacred 2. What do people use these days to communicate with their team? Headsets? Keyboards? I'm going to be playing on PS4. I was super excited to hear that there is cross-platform play
  3. Hi good to see you too! That's right it is very beautiful world of Faerun to explore and also just the world behind the curtain of mmo mechanics to learn. And like Sacred 2 I find slaying the mobs and waves of monsters is somehow relaxing in an exciting, enjoyable way. I will keep tabs on how the Diablo 4 is coming along and maybe later I will join in the fun. I played Diablo 2 resurrected mainly for nostalgia and I never got around to multiplayer play although my characters were online so I played solo on multiplayer character account. Quite possibly I was scared away by the reputation of the non-cooperative play style of D2 and even the "griefers" who have enjoyment player killing or other ways of negatively affecting the other players. I'll keep tabs on how the Diablo 4 is and maybe I'll get around to playing that game. I never tried Diablo 3.
  4. This last week I've been playing Neverwinter mmo. So far I haven't spent any real money and had lots of fun. I like the lore as a DnD Forgotten Realms fan, scenic environments, game play of my class, and huge mmo world to learn about. I've tried Elder Scrolls Online and co-op with my cousin but at that time at least (soon after release) it was hard to find quests to do with my cousin where we both receive some progress. We played some on our own and some together and unless we both needed to fill a particular quest we wouldn't both get much reward. I was wondering if anyone here plays Neverwinter mmo game? What do you think? I'm up to level 8 with one character and maybe 5 with my other slot. I have a lot of "newness" feel exploring the world to do but eventually might want to try a guild. I only tried one raid in ESO and I was terrible participant: panicking, getting lost and holding back the groups progress, but I'm sure I can improve. I would look for a guild that actively helps new players to learn their role in raids I guess is the term:)
  5. I would add that it depends if you are self found character with no bargaining skill. Then you don't have the high plus skills you could have with bargaining. So that changes the dynamic a little bit.
  6. You might just need to get more levels. Purple enemies usually means death regardless of character. With exception maybe of a Shadow Veiled Shadow Warrior but that almost seems cheating. And even a Shadow Veiled SW if they are severely underleveled you don't die but every enemy seems like a 'bullet sponge'.
  7. Regarding toughness there are a couple good reasons to keep it. First is that lots of seraphim set items have mitigation to stack with. Wings, Chests, and Shoulders. However that being said toughness doesn't really give a lot of mitigation on its own though it also gives all channel flat armor. So you can still use mitigation strategy (collect mitigation gear to try to reach a high number to shut out damage) even if you don't use toughness. The second reason is that Seraphim's Divine Protection adds a good chunk of mitigation and you can stack your set pieces to try to hit a high value of mitigation. I think at low level with one rune in Divine Protection you get 20% mitigation! That is double Toughness mitigation at mastery! And Divine Protection continues to deliver more mitigation at higher levels. I could check my level 70ish Seraphim I'm working on but I think it is around high 30s in mitigation (check the gear 'sigma') when Divine Protection is up. So the conclusion is that because of 3 set pieces and if you use Divine Protection mitigation collection is a thing for a Seraphim. Mitigation from Toughness is small in comparison but it could be an extra little bit to go from high to higher mitigation (when you have DP up). One warning if planning to stack Warding Energy and Divine Protection is that whenever you use DP it makes the WE buff go down so you need to remember to recast it. My Seraphim is not using WE and I just took a small dip in Rev Tech just to mod DP. Also so far WEL would be pointless (I think) with DP (but not WE) because by nature of DP it is very sturdy while its duration lasts. If something is hammering through DP I would run for greener pastures!
  8. I'm finding Dashing Alacrity combined with a weapon attack combo of Assailing Somersalt and Pelting strikes despite no Area of Effect clears enemies fast in Silver. I'm up to level 65 in the Dryad Island. How it works is to mod Dashing Alacrity to Longer and Reduced Cooldown and choose the bronze mod that affects casting speed. Now you can chain cast it with maybe 5 seconds time not 'up'. When it goes down you feel like in slow motion. Now combine that with Assailing Somersalt modded to leap farther and Area of Effect and put in combo with pelting. With DA you fly superspeed to the next monster way far away. Your pelting will chop up each mini pack and you maintain speed over all because you 'fly' from monster to monster. It is probably not as fast as rounding up mobs (herding them) and then like blazing tempest. But the speed of Somersault while having DA active is pretty nifty. And the bronze casting speed works if you don't have a weapon lore (for Exalted Warrior stuff) or if you dip into Celestial or Revered Tech and can replace the casting speed (but not crit or damage) from those dips if you don't take Lore and take Focus instead.
  9. Haha I never saw this thread until now. Thanks for answering. I can't remember how it went with the wolf summon. I think I made a dual wield bone slicer build that I posted? But I never saw this thread.
  10. ARPG maybe Diablo 1. Before then I played SSI gold box dungeons and dragons based RPGs. I played Legend of Zelda the first Nintendo game where you needed a memory cartridge and did not start from the very beginning Every. Single. Time. You. Played. The. Game.
  11. From what I recalled the double hit from mastery of sword (for example) does not work with combat arts. I actually made a build that made use of left clicks and RPH (which can double hit = double RPH) and it ate lots of ruins on weapon combat arts and then recharged with left click double hits. This is vanilla ice and blood. I don't know if the mods have changed that behavior. But I'm pretty sure the mastery double hit bonus only affects left clicks. You could test it with a character that has sword mastery (or another weapon) that grants double hit chance. Then test on left clicks get about 100 data and then test with a combat art that does not have a mod to double hit. Might be easier to test on a combat art that only hits once like Soul Hammer instead of Pelting Strikes. Again get like 100 data and observe double hits. A weapon with Life Leach will make double hits stand out a little more as you'll see two orange numbers or one orange number. For a good test you should also test with and without combat arts using a weapon that the character does not have mastery again 100 data for left clicks and 100 data for combat arts. This would be the 'blank' test that is formally done in experiments in scientific method.
  12. Looks like life leach star could be a good weapon for a TG because it's the only one handed % life leach weapon. Percent LL is very strong fighting bosses. So before I put in modification points into Battle Extension has anyone tested if the double hit works on throwing stars? I know a double hit would double the %LL as it does on other classes of characters. So seems battle extension is the way to go for %LL throwing stars because they have 2 double hit modifications potentially. So anyone have a comment on how Battle Extension works with %LL shuriken? I have tested unmodded Battle Extension with LL throwing stars and they do trigger the LL property. Just haven't tested with modified Battle Extension, What about dedicated blow? Any comments?
  13. Thankfully the GoG game copy worked without the same error. I have a level 8 Temple Guardian with Source Warden Lore/Focus, Armor, and Concentration with Primal Mutation modded for damage. I had wanted to try that out. Thanks for help troubleshooting!
  14. Hi and thanks for the suggestions. I have a question about this quote above. When I installed on steam I don't recall it asking me if I want an integrity check. And so far on GoG it hasn't asked that. On GoG it is about 61% downloaded so maybe it will ask me about an integrity check a little later. Edit: another question so as not to double post I have added here. Suppose I need to troubleshoot and I need to uninstall the game. Do I need to download the game each time which takes a couple hours? Or is there a way to uninstall but keep the download on my computer? @vagnerhammer thank you for linking that. Those fixes look too challenging to me. I would probably just abandon hope of playing sacred 2 and play a different game instead or do something else.
  15. Edit: I just noticed I bought Sacred 2 gold on GoG onsale too. I will try installing that and see if it results in the same problem. Thanks. Hi thanks. I looked at the link and my question is what to get started on first? Some of the things I'm not sure how to execute that task but I can try researching with searches online. But just to confirm is this what I should work on? 1) Uninstall Sacred 2 Gold 2) Update your NVIDIA driver to Version 388.71 by going to the NVIDIA website. Install GeForce Experience (optional) this has an option to update the driver and keeps you informed of regular updates. NOTE: I should update ATI driver. Not sure exactly but I will go to their website. I used to use a program Driver Reviver to find drivers to update and do it automatic but my license expired. 4) Be sure that Windows 10 has installed all of the latest updates including Microsoft Net Framework NOTE: I'm on Windows 7 and not sure exactly how to do this? I think I have automatic updates. I can research this though. 5) Reboot your PC 6) Install Sacred 2 Gold with an integrity check. Not sure what an integrity check is? Is this verifying game files on steam? 7) Reboot your PC 8) Run the CM Patch 160 Not sure how exactly to do this. I wouldn't want to run anything that makes sort of whimsical changes to gameplay like changing what stats affect lightsabers or something like that. I would only want bug fix. So I would only want a fix patch not a change the game patch. 9) Reboot your PC 10) De-fragment/Optimize your PC Not sure how to do this but I could research it. 11) Reboot your PC The game should load properly now. If not let us know and you may want to run CPU-Z and provide more of your system info.
  16. Hi when I run Sacred 2 Gold steam edition I get error message: driver: [aticfx32.dll] graphicscard: [ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series] device: [\\.\DISPLAY1] cPhysics::init - NxCreatePhysicsSDK failed SacredApp::setupEngine phyics init failed! <----------NOTE my cursor was over some writing in this line so not exact SacredApp::setup() setupEngine failed! App::Setup() failed! Then I have to exit steam and re-enter steam or else I get this error: An error occured while updating Sacred 2 Gold (app running) I don't know much about computers but I am running windows 7. I have verified game files on steam. I tried to run as an administrator in compatability for Windows XP service pack 3
  17. I would like to add that Damage Lore skill does not increase damage on magic or ice effects to my knowledge but it does increase the chance they happen. Fire and Poison (edit I mean their DOTs secondary effects) deal damage and Damage Lore increases their amount of damage and also quite a large magnitude. Since Magic and Ice (edit I mean their secondary effects) do not deal DOT damage but rather a status effect (with a duration). So I guess that would be a SEOT (status effect over time). I do not know whether Damage Lore skill effects the magnitude of Slow or Weaken but I am doubtful that it does. Might be another thing to test with those blank characters. Even so without a magnitude increase with Weaken that is still pretty awesome to have a very high chance of delivering the Weaken status effect.
  18. Something fast and along the lines of a grilled cheese. It only has 2 ingredients and yummy and rich like a grilled cheese but even easier. Is it possible to be easier? Yes. I look out for coupons or sales on the brie or camembert cheese I use and I always have the premade biscuit dough that is made by pillsbury or my grocery brand that comes in tubes. This biscuit dough some shapes or kinds you twist open the tube and it pops open and some you press a spoon that breaks the seal of the tube and it pops open. So you open the dough and it is in pieces sometimes 8 small or 5 big depending on the type. Now you open the brie or camembert and I like to slightly trim off that coating or skin on the cheese because I am not so sure about that skin. Then I cut the cheese into pieces and a piece for each bit of dough and then just make the dough surround the cheese piece by working it in your hand. Then bake in the oven 10 or so minutes till the cheese is bubbling out a bit and the dough is a little browned. If it's just to feed myself I don't cook all of them maybe just have 1 or 2 and save the others in the fridge so they can be fresh out of the oven to eat some other time. They are as rich and delicious as a grilled cheese. And very easy to make and easy to keep or store the biscuit dough tubes on hand in the fridge. With any luck the third ingredient could be a glass of wine!
  19. another benefit of alchemy (in addition to buffing healing pots, mentors, and trophies) is the ability to have pretty much permanent yellow regeneration potions.
  20. Sorry to whoever came in my game and I had a phone call. It was good to see someone join! I think I need more practice I am not used to multiplayer!! Double adrenaline in hard core that you have another teamate to consider. But I like single player better because you can chill out between monster packs and not always be wondering where your teamate is going to go.
  21. cool Knuckles maybe we will see each other. I am on 50 hours so far. Probably the most fun I've ever had in a video game. I loe so many things about the game. I've been since tonight playing on a multi server as a host and I named it darkmatters password gogo (as someone suggested).. edit: also I am playing veteran hardcore.
  22. oh wow I didn't know what city the campaign ended (so far in development) at. I played this game all last night and fell in love with it. I got to 'burrwitch' or whatever with a fight against 3 bosses. I was hoping that was like 'act 1' not even done. I am level 21 I think. Playing a nightblade which was a blast. It's a really great game so far though. I can imagine SOOOO much replayability whether online or single player. I love the game.
  23. One thing I didn't like about Titan Quest was the artifact recipes. I would find a recipe in Legendary that required me to assemble things I found in normal. So if I only play 1 toon I have to farm stuff and earn zero xp. I think it is cool to have things like that that require farming. But I think that the equip slot should not be vacant for people who don't play more than one toon. Sort of like Sacred 2 had legendaries of which I only found 2 in years and years play. You would have enjoyed the legendary but there is no empty equip slot if you DON"T find them. So with artifacts I always installed the 'no artifact ingredients' mod. I WOULD like both playstyles rewarded of having special recipes but not leave a gear slot vacant for people who only play one toon. This is especially true for 'untwinked' play throughs which is the way I played.
  24. yes odd considering that titanquest vault (a mod) was a pretty much must have mod. didn't the developers notice?
  25. Wow that screen shot looks awesome. Loot!
