  1. Hehe I turned off sound recording to reduce size... I could indeed use some help with youtubing it, but I can't quite figure how to compress it. The original source file is 200 MB, the cropped avi is like 45 MB, and if I use any sort of codec, I get total crap... I use VirtualDub.
  2. Hmm my video skills are still in their early stages... I made an animated .gif instead, as I have a lot of experience with these files. We can make a plain simple demonstration, but for now I decided to show off something more exotic. So, Pelting Strikes on a Dual Wield build (from my Jedi seraphim project ), almost 5 MB size: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3171/298205...825c6390e_o.gif Yes, that's a single attack... Needless to say, the cooldown timer is not really an issue with this build, which allows for a lot of cool combinations... mind boggles...
  3. I made a crude pdf that contains the random names and materials from the text files. Use search in the document, if you find it in the file it is most likely random. As you can see in the last page, the possible names are restricted to up to 2 Descriptions (DescriptionMaterial is also considered a Description), and up to 1 Append. If it gets two Descriptions, one of them will be chosen from the Material pool. Material can only be chosen once, either from Description OR from Append material pool. http://rapidshare.com/files/158426983/sacr...erties.pdf.html Hope this helps to tell the difference.
  4. Hmm Iridescent is a random Description. Phantasm is a random Description Material.
  5. Tips for Fraps: assign F11 key for screenshots, it's not used by Sacred. Also use PNG setting for best image quality. I'll try to make a video of Pelting Strikes, a thousand screenshots cannot describe the true beauty of it
  6. The developers call these items "epic". The ones with the fixed name. I suggest that someone makes a thread on SIF, with good clean pictures of each item type, to create a standard by which we'll be comparing the items. Personally I'm tired of all the orange/dark orange stuff. If they have no official name, just give them one.
  7. It seems not all the countries have servers, or the filter doesn't work. German and UK servers filter returns blank page. When I tried to play online, I just hopped on the first available server. With the crashes, stupid lobby and the lag, you can't be too picky. If anyone would like to play, I made account Antitrust, character Merella (I'm not sure yet which of the two is used for the messaging system). Currently level 8.
  8. Damn... I just realized that I've been browsing various forums for about 10 hours in the past day... Sure, I've been doing other stuff in-between (or was I browsing in-between of other stuff?), but still... I swear, after I get a shower, I won't go online for at least 3 hours... I hope I can resist it... I'll play Sacred...
  9. Welcome aboard Nice work indeed
  10. I agree with Knuckles. I don't think that they will have the same attribute, however. I suspect that the names usually have no connection to stats.
  11. Yeah, we should concentrate on the main and character specific for now.
  12. That's more than I have ps: Try to resize the images you upload, 300KB is a lot for a jpeg image. Just saving it in MsPaint should significantly compress it.
  13. I'd like to hear more about the underhanded means Though it might be preferable to keep such things for private messaging, as I'm not sure about the policy about it here.
  14. I think you should all say which book are you going to type, so someone else doesn't type the same thing I'll make Orcish cooking which I think I have (and maybe something else).
  15. Yes but that way I can't test the changes accurately Adding skill points one right after the other makes testing much simpler than, say if you put 1 skill point now and another one in a few days when you level. If I want to see what impact does the skill have at various levels, it's easier to test it with a clean character, in a single testing session
  16. I'm having that issue as well... and I don't think exports are possible, only ever saw it in D&D games. I think I'll level a single player toon that will have no skill points allocated, so I can test various things and then replace the save file (unless some kind soul tells me how to hack the save files to save me the trouble ) Right now I'm trying to figure out the item generation mechanics. I'll make a toon with bargain skill (maybe seraphim), so if anyone wants some specific character type for his own testing, now is the time to ask. I could mail it to anyone interested.
  17. Actually it was Schot that made it look cool
  18. Ok, but I still think that using images to display text is a major waste of bandwidth. An easy solution (if you don't want to type all that), but a lazy one nonetheless. That site isn't exactly light, even though it is impressive.
  19. I put in Book 2 - Testa, God of Science (will do Kuan, God of War later). Sorry for messing up the Books of Religion history, I know now how the thing works And I think the formatting should show the title as it appears in the link, but feel free to edit that back. I also think we should keep at least some of the images in a single location, so I used link that looks into gogoblender's album. Just re-upload these pics there, they will appear in the wiki (or upload them somewhere and edit the wiki ). Resize them if need be, I can send tiffs or better jpegs if you prefer higher quality. Is there a specific resolution they should be in? On my monitor settings the pictures in the books crop to 281x375. edit: ok thanks for fixing that It looks much better now. I was unable to figure out how do you make the line under the section titles invisible, so I just posted the Kuan page as a copy of Testa, but with lines... I also added fake indents, not sure if that looks ok.
  20. We could try to make something like the Arreat Summit in Diablo. I don't think tons of pictures would be a good idea, no matter how low their resolution is. Getting the tons of screenshots to type from, is a different matter.
