In general I do quests just to keep my character level up to date with the area I'm in. But from time to time I venture off to some place I've never been (or seldom) and see what quests I can do there. But I always do side quests that don't take me too far from the main quest path (or my intended destination). And I steer clear of any escort quests as much as possible... I just hate those when the escort runs away into the distance further and further into trouble - especially in the swamps where there are lots of roots goin' on. see if you can rush through gold and just give your character a fighting chance toward the end. You can do more side quests in plat if you feel the need to adjust your level. Or just run around killing critters for that matter...

Glad they fixed the "Mystic Forge rash" - that sounds like a nasty "bug"

What difficulty are you playing? If you started on Silver then, yes - the beginning of the game be a little difficult if you're not familiar with the game. If not already in Bronze, I suggest you play a little of each character in Bronze just up to around level 8 or so. This way you'll find which you like and which you don't and also get familiar with some of the game mechanics. Tip #1 of the day: the first time I played, I never completed rune master's quest in the starting area and when I got to Thylysium I had all these tons of runes which I could not exchange.... so be sure to complete all the training quests at the start of each new game!

I'm about to start Sacred up again also! I have some unfinished business with my inquisitor (or a new inquisitor for that matter - taking your "new toon" advice to heart). But all I can say, is: don't get to comfortable in gold if you find the early areas totally manageable.... keep your cool, stay humble and keep your eye on the end goal (finishing niob without dying once!) I wish one could start campaign in gold, 'cause that's really where the fun begins and the game only really comes to life if you're getting to plat.

ahhh - I've noticed the "Out of Range" message before, but not the numbers on the skills that turn white whenever something is in range of your skill. So you just have to get close enough to highlight the number and then fire away. Just a concern I had that I'd fire off a skill with a fairly long recharge and hitting nothing but the odd fly.

Oh, then it's probably that shotgun move which blast him back kinda like a Quake 3 Rocket jump? The guy appears to be standing there firing at that big cat and not doing any damage - probably out of range and not noticing... that "out of range" scenario might be a concern for me, nothing serious, since I can read if if "out of range", but still. In the heat of battle you don't want to use 2 or 3 skills only to realize you were out of range and have to move an inch forward. I hope that there will be some option to turn on which would move your character in range when you have a target locked.

nice video, lujate! What was that tarzan swing @ 8:30? one of your team members, or another player? I've had a look at a number of skills vids, but I've never seen a tarzan swing!!

GW2 only - picked this one early on. I should really only be playing 1 game with the precious little time available.

I thought I should unlock Ashe, since she's just so potent at long range and her basic attacks do high damage IMO. Then I encountered Amumu - man that little feller is a nasty encounter. But I suppose there is not really a "best" champ or "worst" champ... but I did find that a good team makes all the difference, no matter which champs are part of it. If you have only one member on a team that keeps charging in to battle and dying, that really hurts your chances from the get-go.

had to spend some ip to unlock Udyr. I suddenly found myself a killing slave using any of this week's free characters just got out of a game against a master Ashe player. Never felt so humiliated in my life. we had a 5v3 advantage and only barely managed to win after several, several failed attempts and many, many, many deaths.

glad to hear. sheesh I'm having a hard time in this game, so many items, so many choices! EDIT: I reached level 5, but I only played bot matches. Some good fun, but the friendly bots seem to be a little less coordinated than the enemy bots The enemies would gang up together and fight a path right through the middle when me and another champ are busy storming their base. the other 3 friendly bots would go about their business here and there, but not really rally to save the base... then when it's all over and we pushed them back, the friendly bots would hang around the base a little waaaaay behind the minions and suddenly split up again... ahhh well - I'm going to try and save face a little with some real players tonight.

I tried creating a new user, but there was nothing "special" I could do to add your summoner during registration. I'm downloading now, so let's see if there's a way to enter a referral somewhere when that's done.

I'm still hopeful to download tonight! but I don't know how much I'll be able to play - just heard that cousins are coming to sleep over 'cause their parents are going to a party... Woe x10.... EDIT: I'll join there too, but is there a server list I should pick from so be sure we're on the same server? btw, I have no idea what time I was born But you're the 1st other person I met who has the same birth day other than our head master at primary school. That was great, 'cause the Coke truck (Coca cola, not the powdery white kind) was at school on my birthday with an extended mid-day break!

Hi Epox, I'm still hopeful of getting this game downloaded. This last few days was just a little crazy in between work and trying to go away for a few days with my family and even working on those few days... crazy I tells ya. A little more hard work lies ahead this week and I hope to chill a little by the weekend, so all that said and done - I'm hoping to hold true to my word by the weekend!

I would check your JavaScript settings in your browser. I am not registered at imageshack and I can see them. Well I eventually tried registering with imageshack only to find that I already have at some stage in the past... so I signed in and presto! such nice screen shots guys!

I can't view any of the imageshack images. Even the download banners at the top of the page are blocked... any ideas? Should I register at imageshack?

OK - I'll create a new account and hope to download the game some time tonight - might not start playing soon, though. We're going on a little break tomorrow and returning on Tuesday. But according to step 1 I need: "Share your referral code, or have friends enter your summoner name or email at signup!" None of these are available in the sign up link in yer 1st post.

I've been looking at this game on and off and can't decide if I want to get into it - I really sucked at DOTA, so I doubt I'll do much better here. I've no clue what the game is really all about, but I've registered already. I still need to download the client but I imagine I'd need to create a new account if I'd be able to assist you in any way? Just let me know...

I'm not too worried about spending money to visit the cash store. I still think that my game gold would buy me enough gems to go and spend on the few items I might require. My only concern is that players that sell gems for gold are going to monopolize the market and demand insane amounts of gold, but as far as I read, ArenaNet said that they will have their own staff selling gems at standard rates and therefore intend to keep the market within reason. I'm still hoping that when guild halls become available, that those flying ships seen in the background of the Lion's Arch screenies can be purchased as a guild hall! But thos of you in the Beta this weekend should perhaps go get us some nice screenies of 'em ships

I don't think that "Fellowship of DarkMatters" will be swiped before we can react at release? But pre-order players have access to the servers a few days before actual release date, not true?

Are we going to rock-paper-scissors between US and EU? I'm leaning towards an EU server, since it's mid Aus- and US time (... and spot on SA time ), but I imagine that's the best chance of finding clan players online at a reasonable hour? I wonder if they'll show ping to the server before choosing one, so that we can be certain not end up in a server with most lag and lowest ping by accident. btw this armour is awsome!
